Started from seed. Transplanted into 10g Smart pots with Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil. These pics are from about 4 days into Veg. They are getting explosive growth since starting nutrients.
Day 8: Added my top dressing to each pot today as well as adding in the Extreme Serene.
Top Dressing:
Elemental
Oregonism XL
Uprising Foundation
Uprising Grow
These ladies are really loving their feed. The growth I'm seeing is not only exponential, but very healthy and strong.
Day 9: Topped the 3 King Kongs. OG isn't ready yet, only having 3 nodes so far. The KK are already (3 hours later) starting to show signs of a successful topping, with the nodes bases getting fatter and swollen.
Day 10: OG was ready to be topped. Its now day 12 and all 4 plants are looking great. I'll post updated pictures on Sunday when I move to week 3 and add in Terpinator to the schedule. I'm also going to start adding some CALiMAGic as I'm noticing signs of cal mag deficiencies.
day 12: added a Hurricaine 16" fan to the grow to get some better air moving around. Seems to be doing great but will have to rotate plants a couple times a day to avoid wind burn
day 13: did some defoliation to get rid of some nutrient-sucking fan leaves and some LST to get extra light on those future bud sites.
Did some defoliation and topping and added Terpinator and CALiMAGic to the feeding schedule. They are loving the fan being on them. I raised my t5 to 18 inches above canopy and they seem to be getting sturdier and thicker because of that and the fan. Also increased the amount of Buddha Grow.
day 22: one of the main branches snapped while doing some LST today. It didnt break all the way through but close, so I'm hoping if I hold it in place and let nature work its course it will heal.
day 23: turned the fan off for the time being. i'm noticing more and more windburn even though it's barely blowing on the plants. I move into a tent next week and will be adding a humidifier (and automated controller) so the fan will get turned back on once in there.
day 25: the branch that snapped is already fully healed. girls were thirst today despite being fed last night so i gave them some water with only cal+mag in it. they are looking like they really love it.
The plant who's branched snapped is completely healed and honestly looks to be the strongest and healthiest of all the plants. OG is a little bush, but thats expected. She should stretch perfectly in flower. Had to remove the fan (hurricaine 16") because it was giving windburn to the plants even though it was barely on them and on the lowest speed. I'll readd it when I put them in the tent next week. Day 31: this week the plants have really grown. King Kong p2 has almost doubled her size. I just ordered my 4x4x6 tent and a 2000w full spectrum LED and will be moving the ladies to flower at the end of next week. Day 33: added a humidifier, humidifier automatic controller, and a 2000w full spectrum LED.
I've decided to do 1 more week of veg so that when I start them in flower my tent will be tuned in and environment will be perfect.
Added a humidifier and automated controller as well as my King Plus 2000w Double Chip Full Spectrum LED. The plants are really responding to it. They have grown thicker and the light penetration on it even has the lower branches beefing up. Can't wait to see how these finish.
Flower Week 1: Moved them into 12/12 a couple of days ago because they were ready. They are really stretching now. I get the feeling that these are going to be some heavy producers. The tent is maintaining a steady temperature and humidity. Moving a dehumidifier in next week to bring that down to 55 for the next few weeks, then slowly dial back to 50 until harvest.
flowering day 6: did some lollipopping and have been rotating the plants pretty regularly. I think I'll add a 2nd LED so the plants are split 2 under each light.
flowering day 8: note to self 4x4 tent is too small for 4 plants apparently. the tent is completely full side to side front to back and the way these strains are stretching I expect top to bottom as well. They are drinking about 1/2 gallon per plant per day now.
Plants are too big to get individual pictures of them so I just posted group pics lights on/off.
Increased terpinator to 15ml/g
Added Mammoth P to the feed at 1ml/g per instructions
Plants are drinking 1/2 gallon each per day now. They seem to like 1/4 gallon right when lights come on and another 1/4 gallon 3-4 hours later.
They are already showing signs of budding, with the white hairs (i can never remember what they are actually called) showing at all the bud sites already.
I added a dehumidifier on an automatic controller as well as a 6in inline fan (465cfm dialed down to 1/4 power so about 100-140cfm) with filter for smell. It had become a problem. My room is in the back of my house and you could smell them outside the front door.
Also added a 250cfm air moving fan to the bottom of the tent pushing air in from the outside.
Did some cord management and mounted a new power strip to the wall to keep cords up and away from the plants.
The tent is fully sealed with the exception of the port for the air mover and the filter/fan. Even though its "sealed" its maintaining between 54-60% RH and 70-75 temperature.
flower day 13 : Lowered humidity to 45% and did some defoliation on the bottom of the plants where the light doesnt penetrate to.
Started this week correcting an issue I've had for the past 2 weeks - I wasn't adding the Big Swell to my feed. I put my box of nutes up and forgot that there was a bottle of big swell in it for flowering. Added that in today (flower week 3 day 1)
RH is staying between 50 and 52% I think I need a bigger dehumidifier but it's ok for now
Getting some nice starts to some buds already. Can't wait to see them finished
Flower day 17: really starting to produce some pistils and sugar. should have solid bud forming in the next few days by the looks of them. OG is not producing many pistils so I'm hoping she finishes stronger than she starts. They are now drinking 1/2 gallon per plant per day.
Everything is looking solid. Some good bud grown and the smell is out of this world. Very very strong smell of fuel and berries. No changes in feeding or equipment.
This week the buds have really started to pack on some weight and density. The smell coming from the tent is extremely loud, thankfully I bought that filter! I only topped these plants the 1 time and they each have 6 main colas. King Kong is definitely living up to her name both size and smell wise. Crystal formation on the buds and sugar leaves is out of this world. I'm gonna have some killer hash on top of some killer flower at the end of this crop
Did some major defoliating and the buds are responding tremendously. Next time around I'll definitely be defoliating earlier than I did this time.
After some very heavy defoliation these plants flowers are exploding with size. The OG Kush has gone from having little flower on it to having dense tall buds forming all over.
Readded HPK to the nutrient feed and dropped my Mammoth P down to 1ml/gallon. This is the last week before flush. These plants are absolutely gorgeous. My shitty camera does not do them justice. The smell in the tent is blueberry muffins gas and grapefruit.
Flush week 1
these girls are absolutely covered in trichomes and the entire tent is now smelling like extreme chocolate and blueberry mixed with gas. I had a lower branch on king kong p3 so i dried and tested it and lemme tell ya. wow. just wow. great buzz, very cerebral and couch lock. Tasted like chocolate with slight fruity flavor but more chocolate than anything. We'll see how 1 week of flushing does and do another if necessary
They got the chop on the 9th. One of them is still going but likely to come down today. I dont have a scale but p1 and p3 look to have produced roughly 2 oz each maybe more (dry) while the p2 that is still going probably has at least 4oz on it. P2 is the only one of them that actually lived up to the King Kong name she has huge colas and even the lower buds are massive.
P1 - 60g
P2 - 40g
P3 - 70g
I really enjoyed growing this strain. It was very forgiving so as a first time grower that was awesome. They produced beautiful sticky stinky nugs and the one pheno was a heavy heavy producer.000
The OG Kush finished strong with some tight dense buds that are beautiful and extremely stinky. The plant stayed a very small bush which I think I did on accident somehow. It still produced roughly 2-3 oz of rock hard buds. I'll update with dry weight when I have a scale.
OG Kush has always been a favorite strain of mine and I look forward to growing more variations of it. It was very resilient and produced some very tasty smoke. Dry weight ended up with 38 grams.
Hey bro she is developing nicely! I notice a powder on the leaves, if is not something specific on purpouse try to keep her clean, not spiting stuff / powder / medium / water on the leaves it avoid problems! 👌🏻👍🏻💥
@CANNASIM, it was just some top dressing that i spilled on the leaves on accident. the fan cleaned them off about 2 minutes after this pic was taken though.
@BlackHatGenetics, yap, it goes by personal preference too, for soil i like 6.3 - 6.5 range. But i din't test a more acidic ph in soil to know exactly the impact of that... Happy growing! 👍
@CANNASIM, honestly I'm a total newbie at growing. This is my 1st batch from seed. I've just been following guides and they usually suggest 5.5 to 6.5 ph. I'm always welcome to suggestions!
@TheFairyBudMother, this filter actually has 100% removed it from the house already after 2 days of use . My sister HATES the smell of weed and came in today and I asked her and she said she can't smell it at all anymore.
@CANNASIM, can you look at that pic i just uploaded this week and tell me what you think. I think ive got a plant either needing more calmag or its windburn and i need to adjust my fan
@CANNASIM, the other girls all look great and are loving the extra feed. this one for some reason just got a couple of leaves on her looking like that. the rest of her is very green and healthy looking. I think I just wind burned her a little. I moved the fan to not hit them as direct as it was and turned it to the lowest setting possible
