I started these seeds on December 6, 2018. Planted directly into Oasis cubes. All seed packs were purchased with 10 regular seeds. Fortunately the seed packs of Bogglegum, LSD and sweet Cindy had 14 seeds. The blue kush came with an outstanding 16 seeds. I will continue to keep the oasis cubes moist until I eventually transfer to 3” pots, then when I start to figure out males from females ill move them to 1gal pots. Eventually these should fill in the 5gal pots under scrog nets.
Nothing to report. Still using water only. Girls are coming along. A couple seed stragglers. Will report final numbers in a week or two, once all seeds have been given 14days plus.
Nothing to report. Still using water only. Girls are coming along fine started using very diluted nutrient solution at 1/4 strength. For now im just stealing pales from my main resivour as I'm only watering once a week at the Moment.
So the numbers are in, for the BLUE Kush was the only pack that had 16 seeds instead of 10. Usually you'd think that maybe a breeder thought he had bad germination rates with this strain, however of the 16 there were 15 took and i believe they were some of the first to pop. Now to watch for male vs females.
As I cruise through week 6,ive started to watch for signs of male genetics. I've seen a few on the Sweet Cindy's and finally I found 1 that appears to be male. The pollen sacks are smaller than the head of a pin, so I've moved them to a isolation area to confirm as they develop.
This leaves me with 14 remaining possible females out of the 15 that sprouted. Honestly hope I get a few more males popping soon. I only require 5 or 9 for a screen, depending which area I place them in.
This leaves me with 8 possible females remaining (hoping for 5 at least) however some are up to 4 or 5 days younger.
Slowly transitioning the girls into the 1000w room. Transplanted into 5gal buckets with straight perlite. There are currently 9 Blue Kush females remaining. Had a couple males pop up
Down to 8 Blue Kush. Purchased new light fixtures for my tent. They are 945w CMH 4k double ended open fixtures.
Completely emptied the tent, cleaned it out. Centered my Dehumidifier at a spot I can reach T the front. Hung the CMH fixtures as close as possible to the top of my 8ft grow tent. Moves the carbon filter to the top middle and feeding the intake directly into the tent as the room appears to be staying cool enough.
Went through the tops and selected the biggest tops for a grand total of 35 tops. Cut off the lower node sucker branches and removes some lower fan leaves that seem to generally die mid cycle.
Looks really sad at the moment, but I've been perfecting this technic and I know it always pays off.
Blue Kush is trecking along beautifully. All plants look extremely healthy.
Hoping to flip in the next little bit. Was hoping to flip tomorrow, but some of the other nets don't appear big enough yet.
I've made clones of all the phenos and as they root, I'm slowly trimming sucker branches. If for some reason I don't get roots, I'll use these lower branches as clones.
As I trim the plants this week, I'll try to update the photos
*updated photos*
Labeled plants in photo along with how many tops they each have.
Also found another male I some how missed. Killed it off, and luckily have 30 tops between all the plants.
Start of Week 2 flower. I've been slowly making my rounds cleaning up any branches that are straying from the main colas. Going forward im going to try a new technique, when trimming the straying branches for the next week I'll only remove everything after that branches first bud site, leaving on 1 node.
Start of Week 3 Flower
I went around to all the plants and did. The final trim of sucker branches. These bog strains are really leafy. I can tell that the lower sections are going to have reduced light. So I removed the lower 1/3 of fan leaves as well.
Its nice to see the different pheno types emerging from the plants, some of the girs are 8-12" taller then the surrounding.
There are possibly 3 keepers to retry for another round. The CMH bulb seems to be growing well. But ill likely be switching to the 3100K 630W DE CMH bulbs for the next grow.
The Blue Kush tent including the sativa screen are looking absolutely amazing. Just trichomes covered. The sativas and a couple of the BOG Blush aka BOG Blue Kush are stacked nicely. Impossible to get true numbers on the quantities when running different strains VS a full dedicated strain per screen. Although the Cmh seems to be doing great.
I'm going to start a flush tomorrow. Scoped the plants and the majority have cloudy trichomes and some are starting to go amber. I figure most will have Amber by the harvest day in a week or less.
The run was pretty good. Obviously expected less weight while I was searching for pheno types and best to keep mother. Ended up testing the different seeds on thc, and had independently rated smell and look tests by 5 different people. All outcomes resulted in very good ratings with majority over 8/10 on looks and smell. Tested THC levels on 5 of the strains, with ratings of 13%, two 16%,17% and a 19%.
The buds are completely covered with crystals and rock hard. Most versions stack very nicely and over all very similar outcomes.
The keeper was an 8.5/10 based on smell and looks with a THC of 17%.
I would definetly recommend this strain again.
@GYOweed, well 0% is not really possible. Even hemp has some thc. But yes there sre lots of cannabinoids in weed.. Not just thc.. And they all have different effects.
