These are a clone run of the best tangilope I had from seed...
They've rooted thru the 4" inch blocks that were pre soaked in a solution of formulex ph to 5.5
Have been dipping the blocks by hand in the the solution. Only dipping the bottom half of the block. I then let them almost dry out which really gets the roots flying along
May the growing commence....
I've now sat them on spreader Matt as the roots have took off the last few days. They will stay here for a few weeks. I will have to top them as they will be massive by then.
I've at the spreader Matt and dipped the blocks so I won't run the pump for a few days, by then they will root in to spreader Matt. If it was summer obviously I wouldn't leave as long
Still on veg table and I have just fim'd these I'll pick the best 4 to flower out when they are ready. Still on the same tank of feed which I run the pump a few minutes a day. The root systems are coming on well too
These are doing fantastic...created alot new heads through using the 'fim' technique...these are that big now I'll probably only put 2 or 3 down....watering more frequent as they are demanding it
I've put the best two out of five on the table as they got so big...I've HST the life out of them. I want to spread sideways as well as up but not to high...I have another layer of netting above for when they get a stretch on.
Feeding them on a staggered timer. They probably get 4 or 5 feeds for a few mins at a time through their light period. Through the night period they don't get fed. This gives the roots a chance to go looking for water.
I would feed more frequent in summer months.
I've also unplugged the inlet fan as it so damn cold outside now!
Still on veg feed til I see a flower
This pheno I kept of tangilope was an absolute killer of a strain...the smell was fucking amazing....this pheno1 was a meduim stretch so I veg for a good 5 weeks as to try a sgrog effect to lower my plant count!!....as you can see I've pulled the branches as wide as i can to let the other nodes reach for the light...I'm hoping to get them as wide as possible but if they don't I will move them over and get another tank next to them.
I'm managing the tank and feed by topping up. They're still running veg feed but i can almost see a flower delvoping already so will change to flower soon ish
Update mid week: I have now changed the water for a fresh 40ltrs and canna Aqua flores
Into 3rd week of flowering and looking great. They're filling out the net quite well now, the flower is coming on nicely.
They have drunk a good 20 litres in under half a week since changing to flower feed. I will now top up with a half strength feed to keep the Ec the same and ph to around 5.8
Start of forth week Changed the water(40ltrtank) and kept same feeding schedule as last week...the flowers are looking good, bud sites everywhere and I really wish you could smell these. The pheno I kept was absolutely outstanding.

I love the smell of this plant I can't help myself everytime i open the tent i rub thc all over my fingers and smell it for ages.
It's like cutting an orange in half and getting that lovely smell...
Still going with the same tank of water as last week.
Topped it twice with fresh 5.8 ph'd water through the week.
The water still has the pk 13 14 in and today I have topped up up to the fill level with 30litres and 50ml a and b flower but no more pk! As not to over fertilize with it.
Flushing these ladies now.....would usually just use clean un ph'd water but i will try keeping the ph around 5.8 for another week and see if they hold their colour for longer and use all the nutrients where as they would go yellow within aweek because the ph of clean water is 7.4
I will add zym for one more week too.
I'm going to switch pump on 24-7 Now aswell...some previous diaries the smoke is not as clean as i would like. I think this because I leave the pump on the staggered timer and the plants could do with lots more clean water ...this why I'm trying what i said above
Swelling nicely and still flushing with ph'd clean water...I've been keeping ph at around 5.8 and the plants seem to be holding there colour so hopefully using up all nutrients that are left in the plant .
Reason for doing this is some of my smoke is still not burning right in a pure joint.
I used to let ph go sky high for last 3 weeks but if i keep it in check for the next week and then clean water only for last week un ph'd too I don't want no ph down(acid) in the water!
40ltr tank of water changed for fresh clean un ph'd water.
Colour has really dropped out and leaves dying back. Buds are solid
Last week of flush...Will harvest Friday

This is second diary of this tangilope. This diary though is of the best pheno out of 5 that I had so should have a better smoke report when dry...if I didn't sgrog this it would have hit the roof.
Going to be a nice yield for two plants
I must say I have this system sussed out...i absolutely love it....all I need to buy each time is a roll of spreader Matt and rockwool blocks....the running cost is nothing apart from the lights....no lugging soil about which I cant do because of serious back problems...the heaviest thing I lift is a rockwool block lol....
This way to grow is so easy
I always love seeing NFT grows! I feel that people who do NFT systems love contemplating variables and getting a system to work together. They are always interesting to me.
Finally I found someone on GD that’s doing what I plan to do after this run. I’ve got a friend doing it with outstanding results. Do you use clips and drop feeding trays through the top of the rock wool or drip onto the matt? what is your feeding schedule and times per day?
@@hydrohippy, part of my reset is switching over to the LED HLG 600v2. Check out their comparisons to HID. Secondly I live in Alaska it does get warm here but not like everywhere else and I’m in a basement where the ambient temp right now is 52°f. My average RH under current conditions without a humidifier is 32% with the intake and dump. Sorry I don’t know the Celsius conversion lol

With nft its about the flow rate of water if you're making home made stands and using one rez.
If flow is to slow you'll get water pooling and going stagnant! To fast and the roots wont take up the nutrients.
With growing autos you'll find you will be warming up the water to much with the light on for 18hrs a day...now the weather warming up will be even worse!!
I've only done autos once on nft and never again because of water temps!!
Unless you are using led which temps should be okay

Since I’m limited on height my plan was to ad a central reservoir on the floor, and I already built two racks that are raised about 8” to hold two plastic totes and I cut the lids out to the size of the cube as it will keep the lights off the roots? Might take me a couple runs to get her dialed but I’m rubbing autos for a while so this should shorten the learning curve for any late adjustments to the system between.

Hello mate, just one question on this NFT. Is your NFT desk ( the one with drainage) perfectly flat? I mean absolutely narrow? I'm asking because I have NFT as well but in my case, the drainage desk is little bit convex, which results in creating a shallow pool at beginning of water flow. And when you have a pool, you don't have a thin film, as it is supposed to be and I think it affects the health of rootsystem of first plant in the row. Have you encountered something like this?
