My Strawberry Milk and Qookies are off to the races! I'm very happy with how healthy they're looking and mainly that they're all the same size so hopefully they stay that way! ๐Ÿคž After seeing how much frostier and manageable one of Grape Walker Kush came out after accidentally topping it last grow, I'm gonna try and top all 4 of these babies. I'm hoping this will help manage the height at the very least as these are sativa dominant hybrids from what I read. There's not really alot to do in the first few weeks after popping, so staring at the longingly multiple times a day will have to do for now ๐Ÿ˜Š On day 14 after much contemplation and reassurance from YouTube I topped all 4 of my plants. I did feel like a monster but it was something I felt I had to try because the canopy maintenance looks so much neater and I really need to keep them short after having to raise my light to the ceiling last grow ๐Ÿ˜Š

I was thinking of trying four branches some time. Otherwise I normally top at node 4. However I am quite surprised you kept node 1 and 2 and removed node three which is fully formed. If I were to go with four branches you'd have been better off removing node 1 and leaving nodes 2 and 3 because they are the strongest

@MrGreen92, Yes, I alway top my autos at the fourth not except when I have put more than one in one pot. And after over a hundred autos, I can say that nodes two and three are the strongest. I can understand just using node one and two, because if you have a good strong initial pair, then you might want to give her as much time. However in your case, you've already grown the third node and the fourth is beginning so it would have made sense to use 2 and 3 instead of 1 and 2. After the cotyledon leaves you have a first true leaf with a single finger, it's possible for those two branches to be strong, but this is the exception, mostly they are weak, or one is. I'm currently growing two Mango Isle, they are at week two and you can see that although they are growing well for two weeks, that one has some branches coming off that first node, and the other doesn't. Generally I have found the best way to treat an auto is to top at the fourth node, I assumed that you intended to just have four branches.

@EazyRider, I didn't have a clue what I was doing other than watching some basementganja videos and just copied what he did. Thanks for the info though I'll definitely try that next crop, so you're saying to cutting higher up than what I did and instead remove the lowest nodes?
