Grape Walker Kush x Iced and Baked (Mephisto Genetics)
What's good? I was planning on doing a Sour Apple Auto from Humboldt Seed Company but all my beans didn't germinate properly. So, we are doing a Mephisto freebie instead! This is a Grape Walker Kush x Iced and Baked. Excited to see what she does.
As usual, glass of water / paper towel method right into her final 10 gallon pot. Pot is filled with reamended soil, mostly ocean forest/happy frog with lots of craft blend and some dolomite lime.
As of week 2, her growth is pretty slow.
Slow, but consistent growth. Since she is slow, I am opting to only low stress train her as I believe topping may stunt her growth.
Very defined ridges on her fan leaves with some of her stems starting to purple in bands. She is also starting to smell already which is kind of crazy. The color of her leaves look a bit off to be honest, almost like the beginning of a deficiency. I know the soil isn't lacking NPK, so maybe just a quirk of the cultivar or phenotype?
I've trained her main branch down to the side. Decided to not top her as I didn't want to stress her. She is in preflower now, and we will probably start to see serious pistil production sometime next week. Going to feed her craft blend in the next few days.
She's in flower now. Really crazy how fast these autoflower flip. You can see pistils starting to grow and tops starting to form. I'm happy I didn't top, because she wouldn't have had any time to grow her two new tops out before flower.
Fed her a cup of craft blend this week.
The smell is starting to come in this week. It is undoubtedly a heavy grape aroma. Some yellowing on the lower leaves towards the end of this week. Gave her some organic gem fish hydrolysate even though I don't think I need it.
She's really chunking up. The little bit of organic gem I gave her last week seems to have given me some burnt tips. No big issue though. Some of her leaves are starting to senesce, turning beautiful dark and purple colors. Thick layers of frost cover the sugar leaves. Very beautiful plant.
Fed 1/2 cup of craft blend this week.
Her growth rate is just insane. Leaves turning color left and right. Nothing much to do except water and feed her. I'll most likely stop feeding her after next week.
Forgot to take enough photos this week. As you can see, she's turning into a monster. Huge, thick, chunky fuckin' colas man 💪😎.
Fed craft blend, but likely unessecary. Last feed of this grow.
I can not describe how excited I am to chop this plant. She's bulked up to almost her full size. A few white pistils here and there still growing, forming little foxtails.
Harvest soon!
Augh dude. This plant is so fuckin' nice. Her colas are THICC and just naturally flop over due to their own weight. Each cola is just covered in frost, probably one of the frostiest auto's I've every grown. Looks similarly to an Alien vs Triangle pheno (and maybe the Mephisto's Wedding a bit) I grew awhile back. Her smells are undoubtedly grapey and gassy, although I'll get a more accurate description when I actually cure and smoke it.
To be honest, I was a bit bummed out pre flower for this girl due to her small size. I am pleasantly surprised to see just how chunky this girl is and I cannot WAIT to smoke her. Definitely a killer plant.
Its finally time for the chop. Took her down on day 80 for a nice and quick 11-12 week cycle. Will add the harvest update when everything is dried and in jars.
Took her down at 80 days and dried for 11 more days. Did a quick and dirty trim before stuffing the nugs into the jars for cure. Harvest 150g of dried buds for a total grow time of 12 weeks. Very impressed with this one, and will likely grow again at some point.
I never had any problems with this one over the entire grow. She grew almost perfectly.
