2 hours after changing nutrients we have noticed the stains on leaves with some leaves wilting & drooping.
As ph,ec & air/water temperatures are within range, oxygenation and circulation are good, what could be the problem:too much UV ? a fan blowing DIRECTLY on the plants? tx
hey there JVG, so in hydro you need micro, what you're seeing there is magnesium deficiency you can tell from the yellowing between the veins. you need to add micro nutrients or at least cal mag, do that and the plant should recover fairly quickly. give a quick check to your roots see if you need to prune and dead ones . Hope this helps ! 🚀
The end of the vegetative week is finishing and the first "flowering" week just started with the first and only nutrient change will be the addition of the Booster ( not yet Flores, still Vega ). Ec is not easily reached ( we are around 1.3) but ... some stains appeared all of a sudden on 2 of the plants, with some leaves twisting seriously too.
We are still investigating what may I have triggered this ( and so fast : 2 hours ago the plants looked normal ) : is it because a fan was blowing directly on the plants ? is it because we also started the UV and it's too strong ? is it an excess of something ? we really dont know.
Any ideas ?
@JVGrowers, hey there when you flushed and changed your solution it caused a ph fluctuation and made the lack of micro more urgent. hope this helps ! 🚀
Yep, this is photoperiod. 😎
Based on multiple tests with autoflowers from various breeders, I decided to stop as those are not good for strong medical use.
I am not saying they are always bad or obvious marketing crap, it's just that new growers should taste properly grown photoperiod plants before saying that autos are good. 😏
The plants are living their last days ( hopefully ) and some stains are finally appearing ! Hurray !
Now the big question : how long will it take for the milk to propagate to 75% of the heads ? 😎
Time will tell. 😉
So this is the last week for the nutrients, with flushing starting next week ... Is everything going as expected ? yep, totally.
The first microscope pictures show that trichomes are still totally clear.
Zooooooo this is the last week before flushing ( flushing will be for 2 weeks ).
We are still using a bit of Grow A&B with just water because we feel we might still be 1 week too early for only flushing.
Trichomes head under microscope are still clear, let's wait and see.
Honestly, the flower development is going extremely well and there's really not much to add.
Resin appears, smell gets stronger ... probably another 5 weeks to go 💤
Unbelievable ! UNBELIEVABLE !!!! 😃
We are starting week 5 of flowering and the plants are thriving.
Ph, EC, air&water day&night temperatures are all under control.
It's clear that the relative humidity is way too high (76 % ) but a dehumidifier is on its way and let's hope it's sufficient 😐
Tomorrow : defoliation of many leaves currently in the shades.
So this is the third flowering week and all parameters are within range, except for the EC which is running high at the beginning of the week ( 2.0 - 2.1 ) right.
After few days eating from, the EC comes down to safer ranges.
EC was low and not stable ( 0.9 to 1.2 ) .
The use of CalMag will also help to stabilise the ph and ec better which are instable in case of a soft water ( and we have here a very very soft water ).
So we have the same curling leaves as a deficiency, the same yellow spots as a deficiency, the low ec and ph fluctuations which can be a sign that the feeding is not buffered enough and you suggest the plants are being overfed.
In addition, as you probably have checked, Green House Seeds officially recommends an EC of 1.5 -1.8

May I know on what ground you express the hypothesis that CalMag additive use is pointless with Canna Vega use in hydro ?
Is there Calcium & Magnesium in sufficient levels to compensate with a deficient water ? I couldn't find those elements mentioned on the Canna labels ( you might be right, but I need to understand your arguments )
Thanks ! we will try to add some magnésium asap ( just ordered Mg and CalMag ).
But it's strange as it would mean that the Canna line of nutrients is causing a deficit of Magnesium or is it due to simply a "too soft" water ? ( I'm following their schedule nearly to the letter ).
