Dropped both of them into Water on 24th August, Taproot of 1 cm size on 26th, put them into the soil the same day. added a dome, sprayed some water on them and they broke through the soil on Aug 28th! They received 250 ppfd from the get go which i ramped up to 350 ppfd by the end of week 1.
This looks really good. Nice purple color already! Interested to see how this turns out...
What kind of webcam did you go with? I pried a cheap Blink camera out of Bezos hands, but it's pretty limited in terms of time lapse.
@NastyNatesJungle, sorry for the late answer! i just saw the reply now :
But yes, i absolutely have! I will probably get a dedicated Pi for the tent anyway, since this one is running outside at my desk as a pihole and is connected to a switch for the devices in my LAN. if i were to put sensors into the tent, i need some 5meters of cable for each to connect to the pi, haha.
but all the more reason to get another one! :]
@sellem, Thanks for that info. That's a creative solution with scripting! I was thinking dusting off my old Pi and trying to get it involved in the grow setup. Timelapse videos are insanely cool - I'll hit you up when I get there. Thanks!
Have you thought about trying to use the Pi in other ways? Maybe for watering or data capturing? Just been thinking to myself...
@NastyNatesJungle, Hi, thanks first of all! 😍
I used an old logitech 720p 60° FOV webcam up until now. i did upgrade to a 1080p one with a 82° FOV. So starting from Week 7 the timelapse quality will improve drastically. (Edit: Forgot you can already see the change in week 6 at the end, day 41)
The webcams themselves for me dont need any timelapse capability per se, as theyre hooked to a raspberry pi via a 5m usb extension cord. The raspi just runs a simple script that takes a picture via the webcam every X (in my case 15) minutes. The raspi also runs 24/7 since its also working as a network filter (PiHole). But this will also work with any modern programmable "Device" that you can run 24/7 or alongside your light schedule, like a PC, laptop, etc.
If you plan on doing something like this yourself, im happy to help.
Slightly off topic, but the webcam also "livestreams" the tent for me, so when im out of the house, on vacation, at work, etc, i can always take a peek inside 😁😁
@VTR90, yeah the colors turned out amazing! Its a bit of trickery due to lights out and flashlight, in true colors, like outside of the tent, its not that extreme. But still a nice and powerful purple. And thanks for the good luck! :)
@GrannyGrowingWeed, hey, thanks first of all, and second, have fun! they have so far been an absolute blast to grow. really fast, really "same"-y in terms of grow, colors and how they handle training. so far, absolutely 0 complaints. cant wait for the smoke!
