Sooo. The new run!
This time I'm going to try to apply all that experience that I got from my first grow.
And I'm really exited to see what are these F1 strains actually are.
This germination went pretty smoothly though.
36 hours in a moist and warm paper towel
and she showed enough of a tail to be transplanted to soil.
While my other plant was drying in the tent this one had to sit under very shitty light
So unfortunately it stretched a bit. And when the time came to transplant her to a big sack,
I placed her a bit deeper in the soil hoping that this overstretched part on the bottom will give some roots eventually.
Will see..
Yea... its growing but there's definitely something I'm missing
Cause the growth is rather slow and the plant looks 'a bit tired' with this wavy leaves.
I gave it a bit of nutes - around: 450 ppm pH 6. 1L.
Applying the solution around her and not directly to the stem in case its hungry.
Well it seems that its just this particular strain has slightly
lower pace of growth comparing to the one i grew prior.
She has finally successfully entered the "explosive growth" phase.
through the week she doubled in height and fully developed two lower nodes.
Looking happy and healthy.
I use light mix for the soil this time, so I gave her full dose of nutes twice this weeks.
5 L total volume of nutrient solution.
Increased the light intensity gradually to 25DLI 380ppfd.
Nuteswatering:
This week I gave her full dose of the nutes.
[3l water + nutes pH 6.1] + [ 3l water pH 6.15]
It seems like it was a bit much: lower fan leaves turned dark green.
So the second feeding was just water.
Training;
I decided to apply the net ASAP this time.
It is not very easy to manipulate the branches the strain is very leafy.
Older fan leaves are already palm sized (even a bit bigger).
Environment:
VPD was fluctuating inside of appropriate levels: 0.8 kPa ~ 1.2 kPa
I measured Leaf VPD once this week: ~0.86 kPa
RH was in the range between 60~70%
Light was gradually increased to 41.5 DLI / ppfd 650
I supplement CO2 with yeastsugar generator (4l of liquid solution)
Growth:
This week the plant showed the first signs of gender,
which means the flowering period is coming soon,
maybe in a week or so.
Nutes, watering:
This week only water, no nutes. (the leaves were still pretty dark greenish.)
Also the fabric pot got a bit moldy on the bottom
and I though that to dry the whole thing a little can't be a bad idea.
[3l water pH 6.05]
Training:
This time its growing a bit messy but looks quite healthy nonetheless
Feels strong enough to handle minor stem bending here and there.
Environment:
Didn't changed much since the last week. although it was somewhat moisty outside 60 and inside 70+RH
Growth:
We are still not into flower but almost filled up the tiny tent, leaves are everywhere.
I had to cut off a few particularly giant fans, next week probably
will do more serious defoliation its getting wet in-between some of the leaves.
Nutes, watering:
switched to bloom nutes
Training:
A little bit of good old defoliation
Environment:
Still fighting humidity - 70+RH
I got a dehumidifier even (10l24h)
I thought it would be enough for a ~18sqm lung room.
its working 247 humidity in the room rarely drops below 55%
and it seems like it barely affects the humidity inside the tent.
honestly I'm out of ideas here...
but for now Dehumidifier was kind of a waste of money.
It also eats 200w which is freaking costly.
Growth:
nevertheless Claudia I grows fast and gets stronger every damn day
Nutes, watering:
the amount of water fed to the plant was increased
makin it 10L total.
The last day of the week it was 4 L [water + nutes] 6.25 pH
*the plant has grown thirsty*
Training:
A massive defoliation session.
Environment:
I've finally dealt with the humidity situation.
in a wired way, but it works for now.
I ended up sticking the head of the dehumidifier directly into the tent
and plugging it into a smart plug that reacts to the change
in humidity read by a sensor hanging inside the tent.
Humidity point floats in range of ~7%.
It also causes some odor leakage.
But i guess it the best solution for now.
I keep the lights ~50 DLI still.
Growth:
She stretched significantly this week, over 15cm.
Nutes, watering:
this week 2L water + 4L nutes
Training:
No training this week
Environment:
triyng to gradually lower humidity levels.
This week it is between 55-60%
lights ~55 DLI
Growth:
Looks like the stretch is over.
Nutes & watering:
this week 4L water + 4L nutes
Training:
I did another defoliation.
Environment:
RH this week it is between 50-55%
there were a few days when exhaust fan didn't activated on time
and there was 30C+ inside
lights ~55 DLI
Health:
Some of the lower leaves turned yellow and fell off.
The bigger fan leaves show signs of some kind of deficiency.
From the look of it i'd say calciummagnesium -
rusty spots are all over the place.
the higher leaves are getting more and more pale -
probably too much heat.
Maturity:
most of the trichomes on higher buds look milky already.
it's weird because there is supposedly ~3-4 weeks of flowering ahead
according to Zamnezia.
Nutes, watering:
this week 4L water + 4L nutes + 4l water
pH ~6.4
Training:
No training this week
Environment:
RH this week is between 50-55%
lights ~45-55 DLI
Growth:
The buds gettin' thick
Nutes, watering:
We're flushing this week 4L water + 4l water
pH ~6.4
Training:
No training
Environment:
RH this week is between 40-45%
lights ~45-50 DLI
Growth:
Almost no changes this week.
Except the higher leaves are gettin' yellow and a bit purple.
Trichomes look almost done.
I'm waiting until i see just a slight touch of ambers on the flowers themselves.
I had to harvest rather early this time. Although the buds looked all right in general. There were plenty of milky trichomes, as well as the transparent ones.
Unfortunately it happened so, that I got to travel. Exactly the same week the plant would reach its peak maturity.
Since I really didn't want to risk over ripening, the decision was made...
