HalfAlive Hello and Welcome, 1st Time diary and DWC, Very limited grow space sadly but it's all I can do due to my circumstances. I'm using dry nutrients produced by a local company, my ml/L is an approximate, I'm mixing at 50% NPK , 20% MgSO4, 25% Calcium Nitrate and 5% is ignored giving a dose of 1/4 strength Pro Silica for seedlings.

Does anyone have any expert tips on LED lighting distance ? This is my 1st LED grow, im using EB Gen 2 strips with a dimmable meanwell driver. Running at 30%, I noticed a bit of stretch yesterday so dropped my light a little to 17 inches. Is there a more scienctific approach?

hey half alive, there's a more scientific approach basically analysing the spectrum with a PAR meter then figuring the optimal distance based on those readings. Dont worry there' also a more practical approach : LED lamp to plant distance should be 10-12 inches , if you notice some stretching then it's too far and if you notice too much penetration for example light burn it's too close. remember the main thing is that light dissipates exponentially, a difference of one inch is "this much" but a difference of 2 inches is four times less than "this much"... does that make sense ? hope this helps ! 🚀

HalfAlive Start of Week 2; *Moved pot into DWC bucket. *Dropped light down to about 10 inches. *Mistakes while mixing nutrients, ended up at around 300ppm. *Daily adjustment to pH, can't locally source pH down so using citric acid which is to weak to remain stable for long. *Dropped res water level to about an inch below the net pot. Seems to be growing well, little bit slower then id like, I think it maybe due to Rockwool being a little bit over saturated, I've only watered once from the bottom at the start of the week. So I dropped the res level to about an inch below the pot, it was about 1/4 inch below the pot, I have an inch of hydroton below the rockwool and it's not suppose to wick I thought so might be this girl just isn't drinking much.

HalfAlive Start of Week 3; *Did 2 x Bucket changes due to Citric acid, now using phosphoric acid pH is much more stable and bucket is staying clean. *Dropped light down to about 9 inches. *Nutrients are at 200 ppm, she shows no signs of needing any more at the moment. She is growing like a weed now, roots have made it out of the pot, Very easy plant considering that rockwool staying way to moist and massive pH swings from citric acid being used to pH down. She went though 2 bucket changes because on some funky foam from the citric acid, pH is much more stable now and the bucket is staying clean since switching to phosphoric acid. 4th set of true leave is forming, hopefully we'll see the 5th set by start of Week 4 and I can look to top her.

HalfAlive Week 4, about Day 25 from seed; *Complete res change, PPM increased to 600 *Lowered light a little, to about 20 cm *Topped about 5 days ago *Added a few 80mm PC fans for air circulation Been a busy week, sorry for the delay this week, i've been looking at buying a house. Topped this girl about 5 days ago, she looked a little sad for about 12 hours then bounced back. I noticed a little nitrogen deficiency a few days after topping and realised she had used up all her nutrients! I added about 300 PPM of nutrients to the res so she didn't go hugry until I had the time to do the res change, which i then did today. You can see the roots have developed quite a lot over the past week, the tops and branches seem to be coming along nicely.

She looks really healthy but I still can't help but feel like growth is a little bit slow, the nitrogen deficiency can't of helped much but other then that any suggestions to improve growth ? Or should I just chill she is doing great ? This is day 25 from seed approximate.

HalfAlive Week 5, she is 31 days old today; *Res changed, at 800 ppm. *Super cropped both main colas. *Installed Scrog screen. Exciting week for her, she has had some good growth this week and her scrog screen installed. There is a little bit of dark green spotting on the tips of a few older leaves, I'll have to diagnose whats going on there. Will be topped 1 more time after those tops have grown a bit bigger, allowed to recover and then I'll be switching her to flower once i see her growing again.
