Auto Melonade Runtz (Dutch Passion) // Closet // Mars Hydro TS 600
Well, I thought this was a bad seed but well, here we are. It surprisingly germinated out of nowhere just as I was starting to germinate another seed.
This is a custom-built closet which I built a few years ago with my dad.
The space to grow is approximately:
- Height: 90cm
- Width: 70cm
- Depth: 40cm
The grow space is small, but it brought me many fruitful harvests and will bring me many more.
I haven't grown for over a year due to work and relocation, so I am excited to grow again. Let's see how it goes I guess.
The plant grew a bit wonky earlier this week, but she finally touched grass and decided to straighten out.
She's picking up some speed, the growth during the last two days was solid.
G got a intense haircut. I topped the plant and defoliated her pretty heavily so the lower colas can spread out easier. This plant is growing kinda fast, so I think she will handle that tough haircut pretty well.
I topped the plant again this week, she responds well to my abuse. I will let her be next week so she can spread out a little bit, flowering phase should start soon.
The plant is transitioning to flowering stage, I expect full flowering stage by next week. I watered her last week, due to the rattle large pot it wasn't necessary to water her this week.
Other than that, the plant is keeping up well with my defoliation and topping, especially for an autoflower.
I think the plant will be ready around New Year, but we shall see. 🌝
The plants are really stretching right now, I think she will be in full flower next week. She's growing nicely.
I removed some of the bigger fan leaves in order to improve light coverage. Additionally, I further removed some lower budsites as they are probably not getting much light exposure anyway.
The plant fully transitioned to flower; she is even starting to smell a little bit. Growth has been good this week, nothing to complain. I removed some leaves and lower branches again too.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the plant's growth behavior so far.
Her flowering stretch finally stopped; the plant is getting hungry now. There were some rust spots forming due to missing cal-mag. I still have a little bit left over from my last grow, but I need to get me some new.
As soon as I can get the deficiency issues in order, she will continue growing strongy, I suppose.
Her buds are developing nicely. Last week's nutrient deficiency seems to have been resolved, the are no new rust spots. Even tho the plant is in early flower, her trichome production is already pretty ok.
The buds grew a bit this week, otherwise than that the plant is ripening slowly but surely. I will have to adjust my nutrient solution a litte bit but other than that, she is doing fine.
I expect the buds to fatten up in the next two weeks for the final stretch before harvest.
Harvest is approaching fast. The plant is really fattening up, she's really ramping up trichome production. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the growth behavior so far, I hope the good grow behavior will translate into good yields but we will see. :)
The plant finished at 77g dry, I harvested the plant in stages.
The taste is fine, but nothing special; I had to pull the plant a bit earlier than expected, I think that the taste would have been better if I let the plant hang for further weeks, yield would have been improved too.
