Zamnesia Larry Bird Kush - Organic Stealth Cabinet
This week marks the beginning of vegetative growth for the cutting I received from Dennis. I transplanted her into coco coir, which I soaked with tap water beforehand. I then mixed about 4 grams of Bio Grow and Bloom per liter of coco coir, along with some mycorrhizal fungi to help establish a strong root system.
I decided not to give any additional water for the rest of the week to encourage the roots to search for moisture. The lighting started at 40%, giving the plant around 125 PPFD at plant height, and I gradually increased it over a few days.
For the first half of the week, I kept the VPD between 0.8 and 0.9 with help of a humidifier and then increased it slightly to hover around 0.9-1.0. The leaves are showing slight signs of deficiency, but the new growth looks alright, so I’m hopeful. She’s still developing her root system and just needs a bit more time to settle in.
This week, the Larry Bird Kush is showing strong signs of growth, with roots really starting to establish. While the older leaves still look a bit deficient, the new growth is looking much healthier, which is a good sign of progress.
I went ahead and topped her to promote lateral shoots, preparing for a Screen of Green (Scrog) setup. The VPD has been steady between 0.9 and 1.0, and I’ve kept the lights at half strength to support steady growth without stressing the plant. Gave her a light watering with BioEnhancer once during the week to support root and microbial activity. Excited to see her continue filling out!
Another week of strong growth for the Larry Bird Kush! She’s really taking off, growing fast enough that I was able to install the screen and start training her horizontally. Not much else to report, but I did increase the lights to 60% at the end of the week to support her expanding growth. The Scrog setup is coming together nicely, and I’m excited to see her fill out the screen in the coming weeks.
The Larry Bird Kush is growing rapidly this week, already filling out more than half of the screen in the Scrog setup. She’s looking better overall, but still showing signs of a possible magnesium deficiency based on the leaf appearance. I’m monitoring closely and hoping this will improve over time as she settles in.
I kept the daytime VPD between 1.0 and 1.1 while gradually lowering the RH to start preparing for the flowering phase. It’s exciting to see her fill out the screen so quickly—she’s well on her way to being ready for the next stage!
The vegetative phase is coming to an end, and the Larry Bird Kush has almost completely filled out the screen—perfect timing to switch to a 12/12 light cycle and start the flowering phase. The flowering stretch should fill out the remaining gaps in the screen. I’m really happy with how the canopy looks; it’s even, and the leaves have improved significantly compared to earlier weeks.
I’ve adjusted the environment for flowering, lowering the daytime humidity to around 55% and keeping the temperature steady at 27°C. The VPD is now between 1.1 and 1.2 during lights-on. The lights are at full strength, delivering a canopy-level PPFD of about 550 µmol m⁻² s⁻¹. Looking forward to seeing the transition into flowering next week!
The flowering phase has officially begun! The Larry Bird Kush has filled out the screen nicely and is starting to stretch, just as expected. I topdressed with 2 grams of BioBloom per liter of coco to support the plant's transition into flowering.
The daytime VPD was maintained at around 1.4 throughout the week, ensuring a good balance for growth. Excited to see how she continues to stretch and develop in the coming weeks!
The second week of flowering brought some exciting developments: the first flowers have appeared, and a sweet strawberry aroma is starting to emerge! However, there were some challenges this week.
I swapped the humidifier for a dehumidifier to tackle high nighttime RH, but this caused the daytime humidity to drop too low, pushing the VPD up to 1.8. This seems to have stressed the plant, making it harder to keep up with transpiration and resulting in some nutrient deficiencies visible on the leaves.
Next week, I’ll try running both the humidifier and dehumidifier to balance the environment more effectively. Hoping to get things back on track as the flowering continues!
The third week of flowering, and the Larry Bird Kush is smelling incredible! Every time I open the cabinet, I’m greeted by a sweet, fruity strawberry aroma—it’s such a delight.
I removed the screen this week since the plant is now shaped just how I want it. This also makes it easier to move around and inspect the plant. While the grow area isn’t completely filled out, the canopy is looking pretty good overall.
To ensure she gets enough nutrients, I started adding a bit of Orgatrex. The daytime RH was kept between 50 and 55%, with the VPD ranging from 1.4 to 1.5. The flowering phase is progressing nicely, and I’m excited to see more development in the coming weeks!
We’re now in the middle of the flowering phase, and the Larry Bird Kush is doing pretty well overall. However, there are still significant nutrient deficiencies, clearly visible from the light green and yellow leaves. I suspect this is due to the pH of the water—I’m more accustomed to growing organically in soil, which typically doesn’t require pH adjustments. It seems coco is less forgiving in this regard. Next time, I’ll be switching back to soil!
That said, the flowers are thriving, bulking up nicely, and smelling absolutely amazing. I’m also slowly decreasing the RH and increasing the daytime VPD to align with the plant's needs as the flowering phase continues. Looking forward to seeing how she develops in the coming weeks!
Another week of flowering has passed, and the Larry Bird Kush flowers are getting bigger every day! The aroma is evolving beautifully, with a sweet, fruity scent that reminds me of Red Bull—such a unique and exciting development.
To address the relatively high RH at night, I installed a seedling heating mat to slightly raise the night temperature. This adjustment successfully dropped the nighttime RH from 65-70% to below 60%, which should help prevent any potential issues as the flowers continue to develop.
Things are progressing nicely, and I’m excited to see how the buds bulk up in the coming weeks!
We’re nearing the end of the flowering phase for this lady, and things have been steady and smooth this past week. The combination of the heating mat and small dehumidifier is doing an excellent job of maintaining a consistent night climate, with temperatures staying above 22°C and RH below 60%.
The flowers are looking fantastic and smelling absolutely amazing—I can’t wait for harvest! It’s exciting to see all the hard work paying off as we approach the finish line.
Another solid week has passed, and the flowers continue to develop beautifully. There isn’t much new to report, but everything is looking on track. I estimate she has just one or two more weeks to go before harvest!
The last week of flowering for the Larry Bird Kush is here, and she’s ready to be harvested! This week, the trichomes transitioned from clear to milky, with some amber ones appearing—perfect timing to ensure a well-balanced effect.
I cut the plant at the base of the stem and hung her upside down on a hook in the ceiling of my growing cabinet. Over the next 2–3 weeks, she’ll dry and then be ready for curing. I’m so excited to see how she turns out after all this time and effort!
