Super Lemon Haze x RS11 Grow Diary Genetics: Super Lemon Haze x RS11 (Rainbow Sherbert) 35% Sativa - 65% Indica Germination Report: I started with 4 seeds placed in damp cotton. After 48 hours, 3 had already sprouted. I thought the 4th seed was a goner, so I placed the 3 germinated seeds into 4x4 cm rockwool cubes. I then put a 5th seed directly into a cube as a backup. However, after an additional 24 hours, the seed I thought was dead suddenly sprouted! I placed it into a rockwool cube, bringing the total to 5 seeds in germination. Even though I only plan to keep 4 plants, I’ll let them all grow for now and later select the best 4 phenos. It took 5 days from the initial placement in the damp cotton for all the seeds to fully germinate. Phenotypes 1 and 2 are showing faster progress compared to phenos 3 and 4, while pheno 5 is lagging behind but is expected given its later start. Throughout this time, I kept a glass cover over the seeds to maintain higher humidity and temperature, providing them with the optimal conditions for germination.

SLH x RS11 - Week 1 Vegetation Report As we entered the first week of vegetation, I took a few key steps to set up the plants for steady growth. On Day 1, I removed the glass cover to expose the seedlings to a light breeze, helping them strengthen early. By Day 2, roots had already outgrown the 4x4cm cubes, so I transferred them into larger 15x15cm rockwool cubes. Around this time, I also noticed some tiny insects on the leaves and sprayed both the plants and the tent with Athena IPW. To keep pests in check, I did a second spray on Day 4, following Athena’s suggestion of three applications a week; for now, I’ll continue with this every other day and monitor closely. On Day 6, I repeated the IPW spray and added supports to plants #1 and #2, which are showing strong early growth. Overall, the week has been steady, and I’ve been keeping the temperature around 26ºC (78.8ºF) with humidity between 75%-80% to ensure healthy development. Wrapping up Week 1 of vegetation with the plants looking solid and healthy!

End of Week 2 The second week has brought steady growth with a few adjustments along the way. Throughout the week, I gradually lowered the humidity from 75% down to 65% to help the plants acclimate to slightly drier conditions. The rockwool was still quite saturated, so I removed some of the excess water to prevent signs of overwatering that were starting to show. I also changed the IPW spray routine, moving from every other day to every three days. Other than these minor tweaks, it’s mostly been about letting them grow naturally!

Week 3 Veg: I'm applying IPW every three days. On Day 18, I gave them their first watering since moving them to the larger rockwool cubes. They’re all developing well: #1 and #4 are the largest, with #4 standing out for its broader, longer leaves. #2 and #3 are just a centimeter shorter, while #5 (the one that germinated 48 hours after the others) is the smallest, which is expected given its later start.

This week brought cold days with high humidity, which slowed growth slightly, but the plants are holding up well overall. I applied IPW sprays twice throughout the week and gave them a single watering midweek. Due to the less-than-ideal conditions, I decided not to perform topping or any training this week. Warmer days are forecasted for next week, so I’ll delay topping until then to give them the best chance to recover and thrive.

The plants are steadily developing, and watering has become more frequent, with two sessions this week. I also applied IPW twice to maintain preventive care. On Day 30, I performed topping and some defoliation on all the plants, which marked a significant step in their training. I also took clones during this process to preserve the genetics for future use. The plants are recovering well from the topping and seem to be responding positively overall.

End of week 6 veg At the beginning of the week, they were moved into a 120x120 tent. On day 38, I transplanted them into pots with a 20cm slab of rockwool beneath the 15x15 cube to improve root space. I used wires to perform LST and added a Scrog net to even out their height. Day 42 marked the last day of veg.

End of the first week of flowering I switched the nutrient regimen to flowering and set the light to 60% intensity with a 12/12 schedule. Towards the end of the week, colder days brought daytime temperatures down to 22ºC. Other than that, I continued maintaining the ScrOG.

Week 2 of Flowering Due to a delay with the shipping company, I wasn't able to get the Athena Bloom for this week. I contacted Athena, and they promptly helped me resolve the situation. We agreed that the best option was to continue with the vegetative nutrient regimen since it was still early in flowering, and it wouldn't cause significant issues. A big thanks to Athena for their quick support! In the first four days of this week, the temperatures dropped significantly due to cold weather, reaching 22ºC during the day and 17ºC at night. The plants showed clear signs of stress. Fortunately, I managed to stabilize the environment back to 27ºC during the day, 19ºC at night, and 60% humidity. I'm watering every day until I get approximately 15% runoff. The plants are recovering well from the earlier stress, and I'm keeping a close eye on their progress.

Week 3: Defoliation and Growth Management Day 17: Defoliated plants #3 and #4. Day 18: Defoliated plants #1, #2, and #5. The plants showed significant growth, forming a dense canopy by the end of the week. The light was raised further to prevent the tops from getting too close. Reduced light intensity to 65% to manage proximity issues. Considering reducing to 60% in the coming days based on plant response. Next Steps Monitor light intensity and adjust if necessary to prevent stress. Continue to shape the canopy using ScrOG and ensure even light distribution. Observe plants for flowering development and any potential deficiencies or issues.

The plants are now drinking about 2.5L per day, indicating robust activity and development. The light is set to 60% intensity, maintained at 30 cm above the canopy. Growth has plateaued this week as the plants transition their energy to bud development and resin production. Early aromas are beginning to emerge, though the scent profiles are still varied and developing. Plant-Specific Observations: #3 and #4: These plants transitioned into flowering faster than the others. #4: Notably shorter than the rest, requiring elevation to match the canopy level. Buds on #4 are impressively large and round compared to its counterparts.

The end of Week 5 of flowering for the SLH x RS11 The weather brought warmer days, with temperatures rising to 27-28°C during the day and 60% humidity. These changes required closer monitoring of the environment. Plants are being watered daily with 1.5L-2L per plant to meet their increased needs. The scent has intensified noticeably, filling the air with a strong aroma. The canopy has become quite dense, which isn't ideal due to the potential for airflow issues. In hindsight, a more aggressive defoliation earlier might have been beneficial. To address this a fan has been introduced below the canopy to improve air circulation. A final round of defoliation is planned for the upcoming week to manage density and enhance airflow. These adjustments aim to maintain plant health and maximize the potential for resin and bud development in the remaining weeks of flowering.

Week 6 of Flowering Defoliation: On days 40 and 41, a light defoliation was performed to improve airflow and light penetration to the lower buds. Environmental Challenges: The beginning of the week was humid and warm, but cooler, drier days followed toward the end. Despite minor stress, the plants adapted well. Watering: Each plant continued to receive 1.5-2L of water daily, ensuring optimal hydration and nutrient uptake. Aroma and Growth: The aroma in the tent has intensified, with distinct scents becoming more prominent. Buds are steadily gaining size and density, showcasing their unique structures.

Week 7 of Flowering Nutrient Adjustments: We switched the nutrients for the final phase, replacing Athena Core with Athena Fade. Bud Development: The buds have started to fatten up significantly, and the smell is becoming more intense. Each phenotype is now showing more distinct characteristics in aroma. Phenotype Progression: #4: The most advanced, with more developed and resinous buds. #3: Closely following #4 in development. #2: A little behind, but still growing well. #1 and #5: The most delayed in the cycle, with smaller buds at this stage. Environmental Conditions: The first part of the week was hot and humid, but by the end, the days became much colder and drier. This contrast caused slight stress, but nothing concerning.

End of Week 8 Flowering The plants continue to bulk up, with some struggling to support their branches under the weight of the buds—except for #4, which remains sturdy and resilient. The aroma is becoming more distinct, with clear Super Lemon Haze influence, but there's also something different—a fruity, sweet, and slightly gassy twist that adds complexity. Overall, they are still behind schedule. Week 9 is a must, and some phenos may even need to push into Week 10 before they’re ready. The next weeks will be key in determining the final ripening process.
