Day 1- Excited to try Ripper Seeds for my first time! Started in damp paper towels until they showed their tails, then to solo cups of Roots Organics Original under (2) Roleadro 300w (125 actual) LEDs. I may have planted them a little shallower than usual as they broke soil last night, they seem like they'll be fine though.
Day 2 - #2 looks ready to toss off its shell.
Day 5 - Looking good!
Day 7 - Good first week, #2 looks to be in the lead.
Good first week of veg. Slowly ramping up watering and lowering lights about an inch per day.
Day 8 - Looking good.
Day 10 - Lowered lights down to 24"
Day 16 - Transplanted into 5 gallon pots today. Normally I would've transplanted earlier but the extra time didn't seem to hurt them and no signs of being rootbound.
Day 24 - Haven't updated in a while due to work and getting sick but man have these ladies grown! Really showing their sativa genetics in the long internodal spacing. Both got topped a few days ago and it seems to be going well. Lots of growth from the side branches. No nutes yet, probably just one veg feed right before flipping to flower.
Day 27 - 2nd (and final) topping
F01 - After 36 days of veg i flipped to 12-12 last night so this is day 1 of flower! Did some minor defoliation right before flipping. They're about 16" tall and and I'm expecting a good amount of stretch from these sativas. I moved the other 3 plants out of the tent for now since they need a big more veg, the Rippers are going to love the extra room for a little while.
F06 - The stretch has begun. Both plants showing pistils. Excited to give these girls some flowering nutes soon.
F07 - Good start after 1 week of 12-12 lighting. They're growing so fast! I think i left just enough room for my lights to keep them from burning/stressing the buds but I think I'm going to max out on my vertical room.
Fl13 - I think the stretch is finally over and I was right - I pretty much maxed out my vertical room with only have a few inches to spare above my lights. Gave the girls their first low-dose feeding today.
F16 - Nice bud development so far, no apparent burning from their first feeding. I have my lights as high as they can go but I'm still hovering around 17" light to plant distance - hoping for no foxtailing.
F21 - I removed the elevators from the drainage trays to give the girls an extra inch or two of space from the lights (felt they were too close). Looking good otherwise. I wish I defoliated more before flowering, don't want to cause too much stress by defoliating now.
F27 - Frosting up and getting stinky! Feeding every other watering.
F28 - Coming along nicely. Looks like #2 is a bit stronger than #1 - faster bud development. Already needed some support so I put a bamboo stick between the 2 girls.
F35 - Started having to tie up the branches since the buds are putting on some weight now. Dropping some lower fan leaves which is expected.
F40 - Looks like they got a little burnt from the last feeding. I'll dial it back a little next time, probably not too many more feedings left. I expect to harvest by the end of the month.
F42 - Starting to put on some weight and they don't look like they're foxtailing. Still removing large fan leaves, wish I did more earlier.
F44 - "HEAVY" video update.
F46 - Think I'm going to start flushing. Seems a bit early (F46) but trichs are nearing cloudy.
F55 - Skipped a week out of disappointment since my Berner Cookies spewed pollen everywhere. It looks like seeds are only developing on the lower larfy buds but can't be sure until I dig into the bigger nugs. I harvested #1 around day 50 out of fear of too many seeds, we'll see how #2 does since I'm going to let it go for a while longer (maybe day 60-65). Been flushing for a week or so.
These ended up being my tallest plants ever, maxing out my vertical room. Germination was a breeze followed by vigorous vegetative growth. I needed quite a few plant ties for support as the buds got way too heavy for the tall sativa structure. Chopped one plant around day 52 and another around day 60 with much more amber trichomes on the later plant. Overall seems like a relatively easy grow besides the stretchy sativa genetics (still not really a complaint).
