11-19-2024 - Starting week 4 (veg wk 3) and everything seems to be going extremely well. Where my inexperience is kicking in is not really knowing which leaves are safe to remove but I'm working on it. I have a fair bit of tucking and defoliation to do over the next couple days as I'm expecting these plants to stretch pretty good this week and possibly go into flower. Since there isn't anything I can do to prevent them from going into flower I think its best to plan as if they will. Regardless, these plants are now getting 1500mililiters of PH 6.5 water every couple days and once a week I'm feeding with Recharge and a Silica additive. There isn't any blemishing on any of the leaves on any of the plants. They seem to take whatever I throw at them and I have to believe that Grow Dots is the main culprit here. So far I'm a believer in Grow Dots and Recharge. Assuming I get to harvest and the yields are good, this is such a simple formula and this is how I'll grow from here on out. Wouldn't make sense to change it in my mind.
From here on out, I'm going to be just trying to get this defoliation done and not kill the plants doing it. I want the plant to be focused on flower production when its time so I'm trying to strategically plant my cuts going forward. The tent and equipment is holding up beautifully and I think next grow I'm just going to focus on two plants. Ultimately, I would like to get down to one plant and reliably get a pound of dry out of each one I plant. Still testing genetics but so far SpeedRun Seeds is proving to be a very good breeder.
11-21-2024 - The plants are now starting to stretch up. This morning I gave each plant 1500ml of dechlorinated tap water PH'd to 6.5. Starting in a few days I'll be upping the quantity to 2 liters per plant every other day as they transition to flower. Right now my lights are at about 20 inches away and at 50-60% giving me a PPFD of 550 or so across the top of the canopy. I'll be upping this to around 1000 PPFD when I'm sure they're in flower. At this point its just a matter of time before they flower and I'm anxious to see how the branches turn out. All my focus will be on growing as dense a bud as possible on each plant.
