As the second plant in the first grow, she has been very well behaved. Just sorta came out and grew. Very low effort grow so far.
Great Lakes Water Only living soil with some potting soil on top.
She really came into her own this week. So different than the Sour Crack sister. Much more orderly with the leaves and less wrinkly. Between day 13 and 14 her roots bit into the super soil and the edges of her bottom leaves got a tiny bit of burn. Luckily she adjusted within a few hours because it stopped dead and I've had no further issues.
I had to disrupt her orderly growth pattern with my nasty old LST but she seems to be loving it. She actually seems to be bulking up faster than her sister, the Sour Crack. Sour Crack is a well known fast grower, and her other progenitor, Samsquanch OG, is a slower, bigger thing all together, so I'm hoping that she gets really bulky, really quickly, then settles in for a long flower. We're in virgin territory sort of with this strain so I have no idea how she'll turn out, apart from "Bulky"
As this strain is generally an unknown commodity, and the only other growers I have seen are at most ten or so days ahead of me, she remains full of surprises. As the week progresses I'll add more here, but it's unknown territory at this point where she's gonna go, so I'll refrain from prognosticating.
Day 25 - She is so low to the ground all of her mass is fat and bushy so I'm not how sure how tall she'd be, but she sure has mass!
Day 28 - She's almost caught up with her Sour sister! Really bulking up now.
Sam's Crack #1 is officially on the flower clock! Unofficially a couple days ago but she's making it clear now. She looks like she's gonna be a bigger girl than the Sour Crack, which, given her Samsquanch OG heritage is a given, but she's really spreading out!
Day 30 - The Cattack aftermath - She lost a couple leaves on one of her smaller fans, but is otherwise okay. She got a big drink of water this morning and was moved over to another space to make room for another plant.
Day 31 - Some rearranging needed to be done for light efficiency. Sam #1 is now off to the side where she can grow like the beast she is becoming.
Day 34 - Biiiig overnight stretch. She is now participating in the life experience of the Cult of Thugee?
Day 35 - Putting on frost now. All across her tops. Looking gewwd!
Day 36 - We're in to week six! Sam #1 has been a very good girl over the last couple days. I think she's officially started her flowering stretch. She's identical looking to the Sour Crack, only about twice as big even though she's six days behind. She's showed no sigh of deficiencies like the other three in G1. She just keeps stacking on mass for m
Day 39 - Food and water. She's still moving up, and grabbing at light but I think she's maybe about to start pushing sideways and getting fat.
Day 42 - Yeah she's still getting a little taller. Not as bad as the 3 Bears OG, but moving upward. I've had to move Sour Crack #1 up almost six inches now so she can compete for light with this Mamma Jamma.
Day 43 - Week seven here we come! Just keeping her wet and fed when she wants it and she's doing great! Was good to have one plant out if front of all the others with the Sour Crack #1, so I could avoid repeating mistakes. Sam's Crack #1 has benefited from this greatly. :-D
Day 46 - Flower sites and filling in like a tiny slow motion explosion of awesome!
Day 49 - Now she's officially the only plant in the tent that hasn't had some minor issue or another. Good girl. :-D
Day 50 - Week eight is here for Sam's Crack #1! She's still looking good, but maybe needs some more food. Fed her this morning, hence the better pic. Been so worried about overfeeding that I may have a chronic underfed situation. Will see if things get better.
Day 53 - Her buds are really starting to fill in and I'm going to start taking pics tomorrow.
Day 56 - Sam #1 is huge, glossy, frosty, growing very fast, and smells just like Sour Crack #1. She's got more than 50% orange pistils at day 56, which I know isn't a super accurate measuring guide but it's a factor. She has a lot of milky trichomes, a few ambers, and not too many clears left. Her Calyxes aren't swollen yet. So a week? Maybe two? I don't think she's going to wait until day 70. We'll see.
Day 57 - Her is where she and Sour Crack #1 part ways officially. Sam #1 here has at least another week or two to go at day 57, I think. She behaves very much like her Sour Crack Gene doner in many ways, but she's bigger, has much larger and longer colas, and is growing more like her Samsquanch OG parent. She's got what appears to be the best of both worlds. Her pheno is so different from Sam #2 Mandy that it's almost like a different strain, which makes sense as a maybe first generation crossbreed. If I could get these seeds as a regular purchase item I would consider buying them exclusively.
Day 59 - She may go 70 days like her Samsquanch parentage after all? Probably less, but definitely no longer.
Day 62 - She's starting to fade a bit! Going to be checking her every day now.
Day 63 - She was out for trichome inspection. Not ready yet. Giving her until day 70 no matter what. However she needed defoliation. Like needed needed, so I chopped maybe a medium salad worth of leaves off of her top colas to let light further down.
Day 64 - She's on week 10! As you can see, I chopped a bunch of fan leaves out of her top area. Said area is only a few days away from being done, so I figured letting her nether regions get some light would even things out. Also threw the 24w florescent under her canopy to help things along.
Day 66 - She gets the chop tomorrow. :-D Pretty fast! She's got a little amber from top to bottom so I reckon it's time.
Sam's Crack is an unreleased freebie, and an F1 as I understand it. I have four total growing, two with diaries. They are all fairly different. This one, Sam #1, smells and acted just like her Sour Crack Parent, only she was much, much larger. She yielded 17.1 ounces wet, which should put her at 4.25-4.3 dry weight. Smoked a bit of bottom popcorn trim a few days ago, and it hits hard, in a very similar way to Sour Crack. Tastes very similar as well. I will grow every Sam's Crack seed I have, sooner rather than later, if only for the fun variety of phenotypes, not to menthion how sturdy, fast, (Chopped at 67 days, had maybe 15% amber and everything else was milky!) and big she grew.
Spent the afternoon watching some Incredible Hulk cartoons and chopping good old Sam #1 into chunks. She seems smugly satisfied to report her efforts. Over 17 ounces of wet bud! Should be around 4.25-4.3oz dry!
Afte
I want this as a regular strain from Mephisto. At least an Illuminautos because geeze. Plant at harvest was an 18x18x18 inch cube from heavy LST, and she was just plain PACKED with bud. Had she had a bit more space in the tent (First grow, things got crowded) I have no doubt that she could have delivered even more! She did all of this in 67 days, so I mean what more can you ask for? Huge yield, relatively small plant with LST, done in a week over two months. More please.
@Hexus, So far so good! I won't even post my grow. I'm shy on here for some reason. lol. Nice plant though! She's looking thick, and I know those buds are gonna be dannnkkk.
@clos13, thanks so much! Trying to keep them as wide as possible before they stretch so I have enough room. :-D Tent is only 60" tall and I put a wire shelf unit in there, raising everything six inches up, so I have about 30 inches of room when the lights are all the way up. May have to supercrop if things get out of control, but doing this work early should save me some grief. At least I hope so. :-D
I have some Sam's crack seeds as well that were given as freebies, so I'm curious as to how she's going to grow! Following along!
Good Luck and Happy Growing!
@flowerbudder, Thanks much! I'm fascinated with how they're going to turn out. Sour crack speed + Samsquanch yields would be amazeballs! Somewhere in between the two would be just peachy.
