Mango Isle F2

Germinated 3 Mango Isle F2, one of them was severely mutated and was culled on d7 and replaced with a Blue Nerdz which is now one week behind the surviving 2 mango isle.

Mango Isle are remaining slender but grow is good with nice internode spacing. One appears to be a bit shorter and stockier and the other is going to be more slender. The Blue Nerdz is also showing strong growth for 7 days.

A caterpillar got into the tent and ate the top of my very fast growing Blue Nerdz, which is an incredible piss off, so I put my last Blue Nerdz into what appears to be a cursed pyramid, so we are back to square one on that one. Meanwhile the two Mango Isle F2 are looking like real class, both were topped at d19, the tall one was topped at the fourth node and the shorter one was topped at what would have been the fifth node but I removed the first node. There is good growth on the branches, expecting them to explode for next week, hopefully.

Both plants have begun the flip to flower. I am using a new grow formula mix with GP3, now using a NPK ratio of 213, to achieve this with GP3 mix 2pt Micro 3pt Grow and 1pt Bloom. Works well and will change today to a new transition ration using GP3 1pt of each micro grow bloom. I have also reduced my ppm to around 600 instead of 1000. I am also trying out a new technique with the eazy pyramids where I have put layers of paper towels on the sides to stop the algae growth. Which it doesn't hurt the plant, the algae doesn't help, it makes it harder to water and reduces the internal volume. So far it has worked a charm. I started by removing the paper towels but I might let the roots grow into them. Not sure yet, should know by next week. Nine days since d19 topping and growth is good, new shoots grew 4in. Only very light defoliation just a few small leaves. Also replacement Blue Nerdz after caterpillar attack this one is now day nine and looking pretty good. I am hoping to begin more Night Owls in a couple of weeks so I might try and keep the blue nerdz small by only giving her four main branches. We'll see how she shapes up. One bean is slightly more bushy the other is slightly less open. This are the highest quality structures I think I have so far grown in 6 years.

Both Mango Isle are growing well, both of them are getting my new nutrient regime, where at bud set, I give a high dose of PK for one week, then low P for the rest of the grow. Blue Nerdz was topped at 3rd node with node 1 removed. So only two pairs of branches because I don't want this to get too large. I will be planting 3 Blue Power F4 in two weeks and it's gonna get crowded.

Both Mango Isle are coming along well, clearly two very different phenos, apart from topping and light defoliation I'm not really doing much. Blue Nerz is also coming along well.

Lots of continuous defoliation on both plants, they appear to have stopped growing are at a medium size of 25in. The Blue Nerdz is just over 4 weeks old nearly three weeks behind but has almost reached the size of the mango isles. I snapped one of the four branches but I taped it up and it lived and is now the tallest branch. The smell of the Mango Isles has taken me back nearly 30 years, so I'm beginning to look forward to the terps. They are coming along well but don't look overly crystally at the moment.

Both Mango Isles have chunked up quite a bit the past week and Blue Nerdz has reached 28in at 5 weeks and a couple of days. The crushed leaves do smell like mangos. They are really beginning to show their quality. I'm thinking of harvesting in two weeks due to very hot temps which lose terpenes, and the high humidity means bud rot danger. But I'll see how we go. Plenty of continuous defoliation every single day. I can't believe how many leaves I'm removing. One of the phenos is bushier with tighter nodes which is the one where I cut off the first pair of branches which so both plants were topped together with four branche, so this one has been chunkier from the beginning. All through the grow I keep alternating which one I prefer, but I was mainly coming down on the side of very slightly taller plant with longer nodes, but now that they are both chunking up I suspect the the bushy plant is going to really bulk up. But we shall see, both plants are quality breeding though.

Everything is coming along fine, humidity and temperature of not good, 80%RH and 30C temps. I have replaced the paper towels with plastic corrugated board which should allow better root die back. New Blue Power in the front. Blue Nerdz is beginning to bud up but no colours yet.

Humidity has been very high the past few weeks so I feel that I'm still pushing it a bit but I'm going to go for another week tops, the stems are thin which helps. She is smelling very sweet, with strong mango and a hint of skunk. Both these phenotypes are remarkable similar to two of the Jedi Kush I recently grew. The buds feel heavy and wobbly on their thin stems.

These have ripened up quite a bit from last week, I will probably harvest sometime in the coming weeks, I will see how it goes, humidity and heat is high, I might take a few early branches off. The Blue Nerdz is my last one, and she has big tight buds and a fruity smell as I expected but no purple yet! Could be my first none coloured Blue Nerdz.

One was beginning to herm so it was time for the chop, I also accidentally cut off the biggest branch of the Blue Nerdz by accident! Gonna grow the rest for another week. Looks like a yield of around 6oz each plant. No purple on the Blue Nerdz!

Typical Blue Nerdz big juicy buds, but no purple for the first time. Also some dried buds from my accidental early harvest of one branch last week.
