Another week in the books, the end is near (I hope). I have 2 weeks left on a 10 week flowering schedule but these might go a few weeks longer. I'm starting to see more purples coming out and the edges of some of the smaller sugar leaves are purpling up. I'm hoping over the next few weeks that some nice "fall" colors start to show.

Grow Questions

I have a cool mist humidifier in my tent, using RO water. Two of my plants that are close to the humidifier have started to get leaves with rust colored spots and yellowing. The left two are fine. Any ideas? The only difference is the mist may have been spraying on the first two.

When should I think about flipping these? They are just getting tall enough to be tucked under the screen. I was hoping to give it another week to let the small one catch up a bit seeing as it's 5 days younger than the rest.

actually you can wait a bit but i would put smth under the pot to make it a little bit higher not to loos another week. but first just put them on 12/12 and check after streching. first week of 12/12 they will strech and be much higher then now and after that moment if she will not be as high as others just put smth under the pot and thats it no worrys happy grow <3

I'm looking for someone that is familiar with H&G nutes. Their feed schedule says to use top booster week 6, based on what I've got going should I do that or should I wait a week or two?

hi, ive been looking whats inside , its 7 percentP and around 6 percent K. Not to heavy for a booster....youve been doing great with your fertilisers ..... but its your decision... i would do it.. because no N inside that could harm her/ them ..... regular boosters got 12 and 13 percent or more inside.......i see no big prob to use it.. maybe look at tazard grows he used the same products

@DrewbieDoobieNoobie, I actually found one cola today that had bud rot. Cut it and salvaged what I could. Only a week left. I'm hoping nothing else pops up.

@jamaljackson, sounds good I'll check it out. Thanks. Yes that light would work perfect the price is way fair. My electric bill was more then the light last month lol
jamaljackson
jamaljacksoncommented6 years ago
@Homegrown420, the HLG version is really kind of expensive but it's assembled in the USA. If you decide to grab one you can get the kit here: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/HLG-550-V2-samsung-lm301b-quantum_62114789245.html?spm=a2700.icbuShop.89.1.4ad62dfcZHnM0D for much cheaper. You just have to assemble it yourself which is apparently very easy.

Hi. Nice work. I have 1 question. I have Greenception GC16 LED and there is 4 switches. 1st marked grow 2nd and 3rd is full spectrum and 4th is bloom. For veg i need to have only grow switch on and for flower just full spectrum and bloom on and veg switch off? And how far from seedlings plants to keep light please?
jamaljackson
jamaljacksoncommented5 years ago
@DrGreenTumb, Hey, I did some googling and I would say that you want the full spectrum light on all the time. You would then turn on the growth / bloom switches depending on the age of the plants. I'm an inexperienced grower, and honestly for light distance I just kinda guess and hope for the best lol. I've got an HLG 550 v2 so I'm chucking a lot of light at them either way. As long as your plants aren't stretching out and getting super lanky searching for light you should be fine.

what ever adjustment you made seem to be working. The girls really bounced back for week 5 to now. I have a similar issue with the heights on mine tallest is at 11" the shortest is about 7" gonna go 1 more week myself and flip at week 6 and scrog. I see a lot of fat knuckles in that one pic are they all HST? they look good JJ I'm looking forward to next weeks pics. ๐Ÿ‘
jamaljackson
jamaljacksoncommented6 years ago
@DrewbieDoobieNoobie, actually everything in that one pic is just how it grew. I should probably clone that one. It did that without any help from me.

Are you running a chiller or air stone on your buckets? I'm just curious what your water temp is. my 1st grow was DWC and I'm in coco now next grow with clones will be DWC. they grew hella fast,Cheers.

@jamaljackson, Hydroponic plants are especially susceptible to Cal-Mag deficiencies due to the absence of soil and access to rainwater. If you use RO or distilled water, the chances are high that your plants are getting next to no Cal-Mag. Calcium is an immobile nutrient. If there is a deficiency of the mineral in the soil or nutrient solution, the growing ends of the plant usually show symptoms first. If you keep adding it in your feedings moving forward they should be ok.
jamaljackson
jamaljacksoncommented6 years ago
@DrewbieDoobieNoobie, yeah the Roots Excelurator from H & G is supposed to protect against it. They seem to be growing like crazy and love it. I'm still trying to get this calcium deficiency fixed though.
DrewbieDoobieNoobie
DrewbieDoobieNoobiecommented6 years ago
@jamaljackson, ok I was worried about root rot but your temps are right at the top end if it gets any warmer I would check the roots more often. for that brown slimy mess. I got it once and it did not take long to set in. I hope you never have to go through that. Good looking grow

I'm in the same boat as you with my grow. just started week 12 you let yours veg one extra week more than mine I am using a 11/13 flower schedule and I've been told it can shave off a week or two of flowering. so I'm looking at your girls and I agree, you got maybe another month. Scope your trichomes. still glassy and clear let it grow cloudy-milky white getting the head high all amber couchlock 70/30 white to amber is my favorite balance some like 50w/50a lights out at 70a/30w that would be a good indicator on when to harvest. do you flush? I would love to hear you thoughts on if you do or not. they look great bet they smell great too. nice full scrog๐Ÿ˜ƒ
jamaljackson
jamaljacksoncommented6 years ago
@DrewbieDoobieNoobie, I do plan on flushing, I know people say it's "bro science" but what do I really have to lose. My 10th week of flowering will end may 13th, I will probably flush until the weekend of that week and then harvest. House and Garden claims you only need a 3-5 day flush with these nutes.

Yeah !! you have a Pi too ๐Ÿ’ช you use only 3 GPIO, so i guess it's for temperature and humidity ? Good luck with the grow !
jamaljackson
jamaljacksoncommented6 years ago
@Dedon, it is for temperature and humidity. The python script I'm running also controls some wemo smart switches to turn on my humidifier / heater when needed. I have everything sent to a Grafana dashboard for monitoring.

Back left is really taking off, front right was a few days behind on the roots. Back right is about 5 days younger than the rest but is coming along nicely. I made a stupid mistake and didn't top feed the front left one enough and almost killed it. I've got roots coming through the bucket now and it's rebounding alright.
