Week 2 Summary/Goals - Prep for topping in week 3 - Continue to increase nutrients as needed - Maintain healthy res temp and accountability of Supplements - Turned on Bloom lights to provide more lighting. More lighting = more growth! Red Spectrum typically encourages stretching, but with this light it is minimal during Veg. Day 1 - PH 6.1 Water Temp 69. PPM 435. Turned on Bloom lights. Add ~35 watts to total 100 in cabinet. Day2 - PH 6.2 Water Temp 74. PPM 430. Bloom lights create a lot more heat to the container and without the canopy to cover the res, water temp got really high. Seemed to really like the extra light. Growth looks faster and she is very green. Changed 100 oz of water with cold water. Added 5ml Liquid Karma, 2ml Cal Mag and 2.5ml Veg Nutes and 2ml Hydroguard. PH 5.7 Water Temp 65. PPM 490 Current Nutrient Levels - Liquid Karma 5.5ml per gallon, Cal Mag 1.25ml per gallon, Hydroguard 1.5ml per gallon, ~7.5ml per gallon Veg nutes (until target PPM). Day3 - PH 6 Water Temp 73. PPM 485 Adding frozen water bottle and PH Down to get PH back down to 5.7. Plant looks great, roots are growing fast and it looks healthy. PH 5.6 Water Temp 68. Added 2 frozen water bottles throughout the day and kept res 68-71. Day4 - PH 5.75 Water Temp 75; lowered to 73 after adding frozen bottle of water. PPM 490. Nothing new to report except good growth and trying to maintain healthy root zone temp. Replaced frozen water bottle with another. Water Temp 69. Added cup of water to try and rise humidity. Later in the day PPM was at 505. Added 16oz of spring water to get PPM down a bit since it was rising. Lowered to 480. PH 5.8 Water Temp 72. Day5 - PH 5.8 Water Temp 72. PPM 485. Added frozen water bottle to res, temp was already at 71 will prob drop to ~67ish. Nothing new to report other than great growth. PH 5.8 Water Temp 75, then 72 with water bottle and going down. PPM steady at 485 throughout the day. Day6 - PH 5.8 Water Temp75/72. with water bottle PPM 485. Day7 - PH 5.8 Water Temp75/72. PPM 500. Added frozen water bottle. 3 Nodes already established, working on 4th. A lot of growth in 1 day. Added 64 Oz of Cold Water (55F). Water Temp 63. PPM 505 PH 5.9. Added 4ml Liquid Karma, 2ml Cal, 1.5ml Hydroguard and 2.5ml Veg Nutes Current Nutrient Levels - Liquid Karma 6.25ml per gallon, Cal Mag 2ml per gallon, Hydroguard 2ml per gallon, Veg Nutes 8ml per gallon (until desired PPM) = 500 PPM with Spring Water

Summary/Goals for Week 3 Unfortunately it looks like I am running out of space and will have to flip in the next few days. I want a max height of 20-24" to leave 6-8" of space in between light and plant. She is currently (Day 7) 8" tall and 13" wide. 13" from light. 26 Days old from seed at the end of week 3 (Jan 27). - Top for the first time ever! - Day 2 - Changed out air stones- Day 2 - Res Change - Day 2 and Day 6. Day 6 I upped the PPM to 600. A little nervous about pushing her that high, but she seems healthy so we will see what happens! - Defoliated - Day 6 - LST - I tucked Fan leaves, but didn't tie anything down. Plan to right before flowering switch Day 1 - PH 5.8 Water Temp 68. PPM 510. Added frozen water bottle to maintain the res temp in the 60's. Getting ready to top in the next few days. Growing faster now and want it to get a little older before I top to reduce recovery time. Plan to do a full res change in the next couple days as well. Day2 - PH 5.8 Water Temp 69. PPM 495. Planning to top today and res change. Topping at 5th node. I think I messed up topping (node 5) and accidentally cut one of the side branches as well, so topped down to next node (4). Conducted a res change: added Hydroguard 1mlpg (2.5ml total) , Liquid Karma 6mlpg (15ML total), Cal Mag 1.8mlpg (4.5 cal), Veg Nutrients 11mlpg (25 total) = 500 PPM Switched out air stones for a new 1" x 2" and 12" bar. Looks like it is producing more bubbles than the older ones. The Air pump is a little weak for the 12" bar, but it is still achieving the goal of more bubbles spread out across the res and the smaller air stone is pumping right under the roots (they love it!). I placed nute water in gallon jug and placed roots in jug while res was cleaned, this got some of the dirt that was on the roots. PH 5.8 Water Temp 62. PPM 500 Current Nutrient Levels - Hydroguard .9ml per gallon (2.5ml total) , Liquid Karma 5.4ML per gallon (15ml total), Cal Mag 1.6ml per gallon (4.5 cal), Veg Nutrients 11ml per gallon (25 total) = 500 PPPM Day 3 - PH 5.7 Water Temp 75. PPM 510. Added frozen water bottle, Temp dropped to 71 immediately. Looks great after topped. Did some leaf tucking to expose the lower branches to light. Day 4 - PH 5.7 Water Temp 72. PPM 485. Tucked some of the fan leaves to expose lower sites Day 5 - PH 5.7 Water Temp 72. PPM 465. A lot of new growth, continued to tuck fan leaves to expose lower sites. Day 6 - PH 5.6 Water Temp 71. PPM 465. Removed 32 ounces of water and added 1 Gallon of nute water. 2mlpg Hydroguard, 6 mlpg Liquid Karma, 2 mlpg Cal Mag, 10mlpg Veg Nutes. Res is now at PH 5.85 600 PPM. Water Temp 68. Removed some of the larger fan leaves to expose some of the lower sites. Day7 - PH 6.5 Water Temp 69. PPM 615. Lowered PH to 5.9 and added 16 Oz cold PH'd spring water to bring PPM 585. 8" tall and 13" wide. 13" from light. I will probably have to flip to flowering in the next few days. Not sure why the PH rose so much overnight, will continue to monitor.

Week 4 Summary/Goals Germination - 1 Jan - 6 Jan - 6 Days Veg Stage - 7 Jan - 30 Jan - 24 Days - Switching to flower tonight (Day 3). She looks healthy and it's better to be safe then sorry with my height restriction. I can only have a max height of ~20-22". Planning for a 100% stretch with LST - LST - Day 1 I plan to tie down the branches to try and encourage a wider growth to utilize my space better Day 1 - PH 6.0 Water Temp 69. PPM 585. Tucked some fan leaves in the morning, Tied down branches to encourage a wider growth. Day 2 - PH 6.1 Water Temp 69. PPM 605. Day 3 - PH 5.9 Water Temp 71. PPM 585. Plan to switch to flowering today and will change to flowering nutes in a few days. Upping Calcium with this feeding. Added 64 Ounce of water - 4mlpg cal mag, LK 6mlpg, 12mlpg veg nutes. PH 5.8 Water Temp 68. PPM 640

Kept Veg nutes until Day 3. Noticed a possible deficiency on Day 3 (2 Feb), so I calibrated my PH meter, conducted a full res change, and switched/increased to flower nutrients. Trying to continue to bend down tall branches and try and deal with my height limitations. Plan to do a defoliation around Week 3 Flower if needed, which it looks like it will. She is 11.5" tall. I am going to attempt to Supercrop in week 2. Day 1 - PH 5.7 Water Temp 69. PPM 640. Day 2 - PH 5.6 Water Temp 68. PPM 640. 11" from light. ~9" tall now. Day 3 - PH 5.8 Water Temp 69. PPM 685. 10" Tall. Changed out res and switched to Flowering nutrients. Noticed a possible deficiency in some new growth. Bright yellow-green color starting from the middle and spreading. Calibrated PH meter, increased nutrients and will monitor.

Streeetttchhhhhh! I had to move from my cabinet on Day2F9 because she was growing so well I was afraid she would end up getting light burned. I stole my roommates new grow space... Sorry but it was for the bud! Now I have a Mars 300w (120 truewats) and I added a 50 true watt UFO COB. The swap was interesting, I had to cut my old reservoir top and I slipped my 2 inch net cup into a modified 3" net cup. Then slip the rootball through the 3" cooler top hole.. But she made it and didnt miss a beat! She is starting to get a bit stinky. I did some defoliation on F12 and a few more leaves on F13. I plan to do a little more over the next couple of days.

Starting to see some budlets! Moved her again, this time to a tent 😆. PPMs are hanging around 900-950, they did shoot up to 1050 when I first increased the nutes, but when i brought them down back down to 920 with a gallon of light nutrient mix they stayed there. I have used this plant as my test baby for my new grow environments and she has been powering through. I am excited to see how she fares in the tent.

This was a good week for bud growth. The bud fairy still hasn't stopped by to sprinkle her sugar, but I imagine it won't be too long. I tried to keep the PPMs around 930-950, but the PPMs kept creeping up to 1050, so I brought them down to 880 on Day 6. This week I did a 50% res change (same as last week) and I will be doing a full res change tomorrow.

This week was another good week for bud growth. I did a decent defoliation on Day 4 and 5 (~25 fan leaves) to allow more airflow and light to the lower bud sites. I did a res change on Day1 of this week and lowered the nutrients to ~850 PPMs and she liked that much better. I was having some issues with the PH dropping and some signs of purple stems, so when I added water I upped the bloom nutrients and didn't add any of the supplements. I was adding PH Up once daily to get the PH to stay above 5.7 when it dropped to around 5.5 or lower. This was done to help the plant uptake more phosphorus. She is drinking close to a gallon a day the last few days. I will do a 50% res change tomorrow.

Grow Questions

Why is my PH dropping so low and should I be concerned or just keep trucking because they look relatively healthy? My PH keeps dropping daily to around 5.4-5.6 and I am having to add PH up almost daily to get it to 5.8. I don't like to PH chase, but 5.4-5.5 seems too low.

Unfortunately my friend , you have to keep doing what you're doing to maintain the pH, the main thing is you don't want it to fall below 5.5 ... 5.5 is the pH of rain water that's why... I think it's the hydroguard dropping the pH , but only you can test each one of the nutes for pH . That said I would change a thing or remove the hydroguard . Hope this helps ! 🚀

Thanks for all the answers! The last 7 - 10 days I was having an issue with my PH dropping about .5 everyday. I seemed to have fixed the issue by increasing the amount of Cal-Mag and I stopped adding Hydroguard. I am not sure if it is a coincidence in the life-cycle of the plant (unlikely), the diluting of the hydroguard, or increasing the Cal-mag. I believe it was a nutrient lockout issue (probably calcium which led to maybe a slight magnesium deficiency and other issues) and the plant was taking in an incorrect balance of nutrients.? 😵 The PH has now been pretty stable, slightly rising over the last 4 days. I ensured my PH pen was calibrated still. The water I use is spring water from a local supermarket, so it isn't RO and it sits at around 60-90 PPMs. Right around this time I also added another Quantum board to the tent to sit above my Chem OG plants (another reason why I believe I needed to increase my Calcium earlier). I checked the MSDS's and they didn't have the PH, but I did test it a bit myself when added to the water and the Cal-Mag lowers the PH, but after adding PH up it didn't drop again like it was doing the previous days. She is drinking about 64 ounces a day, I added 3 gallons throughout the week along with a 50% res change on Day1 (F36). She got a little nutrient burn when I pushed the nutes up to around 1000, so I came back down to 925. I have some purple stems still, but they don't seem to be getting any worse and overall she looks pretty healthy. I am thinking/hoping another 20 days or so til harvest. I hope she still has some fattening up to do.

nice looking grow...not a bad result at all for the short time frame on a photoperiod plant...I decided to go full strength on BUD CANDY starting today...6ml/g to see how it goes....they are just now starting to bud and I'm hoping I will get 6-10 inches of stretch or more hopefully...I will let you now if I see something noticeably good happen....did light defoliation today...raised lights back up to 36"....nice grow thats a pretty simple feeding system...I wonder if the ARMOR SI would have compensated your Ph drop problem???

@@motaman311, yeah I am pulling 440cfm 24/7 from the 6" extractor fan to keep the two lights temp in the mid to high 70's in the tent....Co2 is heavier then air, and can be added to the environment right before lights out when the extraction fan could be turned off for a couple hours....its cheap enough after the initial purchase that adding some I think is worth it....I would wash things out with Rubbing alcohol...just cheap ass 90%...I used to use that when I cleaned out my tubs when I used to grow mushrooms....I should move to Denver or Oakland where they decriminalized mushrooms since they cost me about $1 per ounce production costs...but cleaning with alcohol works perfect I just pour some in the tubs then wipe it down with paper towels....that kills everything and sterilizes them....I have never had a problem growing mushrooms in the same tubs after doing that, & they are a lot more susceptible to pathogens/mold/mildew....plus its not harmful to your skin with to much exposure like peroxide can be....really cheap too....yeah I know what you mean fish tanks use the waterfall method in their air induction systems, as well as a little submerged air bubbler....I have read that 1600ppm of Co2 is ideal for cannabis, but just raising it a bit will increase yields...most houses are actually under 400ppm of Co2 levels higher then that they say can cause humans to have head aches....plus you can get a little adapter thing to make your own dry ice....then make dry ice bubble bag keif...then turn that into e-liquid or dabs...good thing to do with the trim and larf….its as, if not more effective then making bubble the hard way (which I have done quite a bit of in a Humboldt Co. Sheriffs garage of all places)...plus its dry right away...yeah the girls are liking the 18-6 now I'm positive the 24 light holds off flowering in autos probably retards growth as well...but for more advanced training of autos I think 24 hour light is essential to buy some more time(just my opinion based on results)...again I have positive results with another about 2/3rd gallon per plant after two and a half days with no water....got decent run off again and they responded well....starting to actually see budding structure forming on #3 the furthest along and lots of pistils on the other ones....still very early stage but showing nice progression from day to day.....got another inch since watering but I am expecting a better stretch tonight during lights out as I had the larger growth spurt the second night after the initial heavier waitering....its funny that that much water has actually improved the way THEY STAND UP and are looking as well filling out nicely after my heavy training and defoliation in week 3....the roots dont grow into dry spaces, so I'm under the impression that saturating the entire 5gal pots has increased my root base drastically which is very important....the tent is actually starting to fill up now....I still have 4-5 weeks probably if not 6....looking really good though....I need to get a better camera with a flash to take some better photos now....#2 has done the strangest thing....I topped 2,4,5,& 6 #2 has THREE MAIN TOPS coming from where I topped it....I didnt FIM #2 it was a clean toping....but a few days after the first two main shoots popped the third grew right from where I topped it??? now all three are even in height and size....its looking like I should get some decent results for my first try.....still a good ways to go though still....im going to stick to this watering method as long as it keeps showing quality results.....

@@Wilson_McNugget, thats some great growth and stretch! I dont use peroxide cause I use hydroguard for beneficial bacteria and it would kill it and i am nervous about it killing all the organic and natural stuff in the liquid karma. Its great to sterilize and provide more Disolved Oxygen but there are a lot of things I could do to increase DO if I wanted.. Make more of an aeroponics setup. More oxygen is created in a waterfall effect in the reservoir. If i ever got root rot i would treat with peroxide though for sure.. Think im going to start using it more for cleaning though. I dont use Co2 because i am just not familiar enough with it and how beneficial itnwould be for me. I have my extractuin fan set on pretty high, so im not sure the plants would be able to use any of it.. Or use enough for it to be worth implementing for me. I really like your idea of the 20-4 then 18-6 switch. Reduce the stess on those girls too

@@motaman311, yup I went to 18-6 last night got 4 inches of stretch across the board....even hit #8 with a 3/4th gallon of nutrient's yesterday...she popped up also...clear flowering going on all 8 now...I also turned on these heavy heavy red lights I bought first...$75 bucks a piece they are about 150w real power NO FANS 3 50w COB's...just have to watch my temps....I wont be getting my portable A/C unit until the end of the month, then I might be able to add the third over head light, which minus the fans would be around 850 real watts total if I could run them all....hopefully for the last couple weeks of flower...I have the Red lights about half way up on the sides of the tent angled about 45 degrees...they are in my tent set up slide show video from week 1...dont know if that helped or just giving them the 6 hours of darkness....but thats 4 more inches of buds....raised the lights up to 36" again today...which made me feel a lot better...hoping for some more stretch...at around 16-17 inches now....if I'm lucky I might still get another 10-15 inches?...yeah I was going to ask if you just used a hole saw for the coolers...thats not a bad price since you can use them over and over with an easy clean out.....I will just throw my fabric pots away...im not going to try to wash them....now I just have to decide when I want to water again? but they really liked the heavy watering at almost 750ppm 6.07ph....#8 HAD RUN OFF AFTER Florakleen of around 700ppm...but after that dried and I watered yesterday the PPM of the run off was 2400...but im sure thats all the combined residue that precipitated out...I have them raised up a couple inches so the pots dont soak up any of the run off back up....probably water again tomorrow....but never know might late tonight? they are looking much happier....I think next run I will go 20-4 1st three weeks then switch to 18-6 for the GSC autos....O'yeah have you ever tried the 35% peroxide to add more oxygen to your hydro ever??? I was looking at that stuff at my local hydro store which lucky for me is about 2 miles from home....and do you ever add Co2? I was thinking of buying a $100 20lb tank from amazon....I need that and a R/O filter system...last three purchases portable A/C, R/O filter system & Co2...I would just use the Co2 like my friend Wallace used to, no regulator just the occasional light trickle over the plants once a day....I have heard that is best right before lights out???

@CRiSPrGrow, Thanks! I am still trying to figure it out and keep forcing the PH to 5.8+. I just don't want to over PH up the water and cause issues from too much of that stuff. The drop wasn't too bad today and my stems are starting to get really purple, so I upped the cal-mag a bit. I am hoping the minor increase in cal-mag + keeping the PH up will do the trick. I am also starting to phase out the hydroguard, hopefully that will help. ✌️ 🙏

Thanks! Patience is one of the hardest parts for me during a grow (that and trying to time my flowering lights for better pics 😂).
