Heyho, this is my first total indoor grow and my second grow overall. My first grow started outside, but since the winter came earlier then expected i decided to continue this interesting new hobby inside a 2x2 tent. The first grow i used mills mineral line, which i was very happy with. For this grow though im trying greenhouse feeding bio, because i will be gone for almost 2 weeks during this grow and with the greenhouse powder i only need to make sure to run a waterpump during my time away and dont have to premix a nutrient/water solution. But for the first 2 weeks the seedlings will only take what is in the light mix. So lets get to it:
I started with the seeds soaking in water for 10 hours and then they got planted in Plagron Light Mix. Circa 1 cm under the surface. The pots were then placed on a radiator close to the window.
3 days later the little seedlings said hello and were waiting for the tent to get free to move into their new home. (in the tent the first grow was still drying)
The plants now finally moved into the tent. I set the lamp to 40% with 27cm distance as manufacturer wrote in the product-booklet.
I tied a bolt on a string to the lamp to be able to always keep the ideal distance of 27cm.
In these days i check the soil every day and try to keep the soil always a bit moist. I used a regular spray bottle to moisten the surface.
The tent was too dry, so i added a humidifier from ac infinity. I chose that model because it gives me the option to put in the vpd and the humidifier will measure and then work automatically. The plants seem to really enjoy my decision and they thanked me with some pretty new leaves. Next week i will put them also in bigger pots and then they will get their first load of nutrients.
This week the two ladies got into bigger 14L pots. While changing i added 'Great White Premium Mycorrhizae' directly onto the roots. The soil got mixed with the 'BioGrow' from 'Greenhouse Feeding'. I used 4g per L of soil. Temperature and humidity stay the same for now to have a rough vpd of 0.6.
This week i topped both ladies after the 5th node. They also got 0.5 Liter of water with 0.5ml of 'Hype Metraton' to help them with the stress of topping. The lightintensity also got increased from 40% to 60%. The day after the topping i also decided to apply the first LST. I wanted to wait a bit more but couldnt resist.
This week the ladies got greenhouse feeding bio-enhancer for the first time in the beginning of the week. they recovered very nicely from the topping and start to become bushy. a few days later i decided to use some LST to be able to maximize the entire growspace in the end. I also cut off some leaves that blocked some nodes from the light. Im thinking about using a scrog net soon to make the plant grow more into the corners where there is no pot. but im not sure. if you have any tip or advice, write me in the comments :)
They recovered also nicely from the LST and defoliation last week and start to grow very bushy. im still thinking about how to fill all corners. They only got water this week. So far the plants look pretty healthy. i had some nutrient burn 2 or 3 leaves after i gave the enhancer but i took them away with the defoliation last week and the new leaves all look fine.
This week I did again some defoliation to have light directly on the tops that i want to grow higher. i also topped again a few of them especially in those areas where i want to fill the empty corners. At the same time i installed a net for easier training and to reach a SoG before flipping to flower. I also watered with the enhancer again. Some of the older lower leaves show some brown spots with i assume has something to do with the PH that varies when i water with the enhancer. but i dont have a device to measure the ph, its just based on tables i found online. But my understanding is that the greenhouse bio-line ajusts the ph to a surtain point like a living soil would do. therefore im not that concerned. the rest of the plants look great and they grow quickly.
i wont be home for the next 2 weeks. Watering will happen with an automated watering system. I hope that i can still tuck everything under the net when im back. After these 2 weeks i will switch to 12/12 lightcycle and finally watch the ladies grow their beautiful flowers.
The new growth after defoliating and lollipoping the two last week is impressive. This week they only get water and some bending into the net to fill the entire space before flipping to 12/12 light.
Plant 1 shows a bit of a deficiency. I dont know what it could be. But since the rest of the plant looks healthy i will just continue as planned.
Not much happened this week. Only tapwater was given to the ladies and i tried to tug under more branches to fill the gaps to maximize the used space. The spots on the leaves stayed and the new leaves look healthy. I think they didnt like the enhancer that much or at least not as much. I will also start to check the ph next run i do.
This week i prepared for bloom. Lollipopped both plants again, did some LST, some defoliation but of course most importantly i top-fed both plants with the bio bloom nutrients and switched the lights to 12/12.
This week I did another lollipopping of both plants where i removed everything that was growing under the net after the last time i lollipopped. I top-fed them the greenhouse feeding bio grow nutrients, which was very in need. I could see that the plant was running out of nutrients but the color of the leaves. The humidifier runs now at a VPD of 1.1. And i finally switched the lights to 12/12.
After already a few days i can say: the stretch is real! The ladies are shooting up like crazy. 4 days later i also watered again with the greenhouse feeding enhancer. Now the two also show their sex for the first time with their first pistols.
The stretch was too much for me too handle i have to admit. I waited too long before flipping to 12/12 , because there is no space anymore to do LST. Also the net is too low now to bend any brenches down. Lesson learned. Its not a even cannapy but i think it is still fine for my second indoor experience. You can clearly see already where buds will be formed. I only took away a handful of leaves that were blocking other buds. I also watered this week with 3ml in 1.5L of Big Bud from advanced nutrients. My plan is to do this in week 2-4 and then switch to another additive. Next week on day 21 of flower i will do a big defoliation and lollipopping and after that i will leave them alone and watch the magic. Looking already forward to it.
Week 3 of Flower is going well. Budsides are clearly visible now and coming along nicely. I am still watering with the Big Bud every two days. On Sunday (Day 22 of Flower) i will do the big last defoliation and lollipopping. Will then add some more pictures here.
Last week i realized that my spiderfarmer fan was broken. It would not spin anymore. So i decided to go for two fans without the spinning function that are facing each other. I might also add another small fan at the bottom once i take out the humidifier to have also air circulating underneath the cannapy. It might be a bit overkill with 3 fans in a 2x2 but i had to deal with mold (powdery mildew) last summer outside and i really dont want to have that inside my tent.
this week we change from the big bud to the rokzbastic from atami. I also started to add some calmag from biobizz to it because the leaves looked a bit yellow. it might be all natrual but i want to make sure.
Nothing has changed since last week. every 2 days , 1,5L with calmag and rokzbastic per lady. You can now clearly see the two different phenotypes in the bud structure.
I saw that the tips of the sugar leaves got some brown dried out tips, which i believe could be a nutrient burn. As a reaction i decided to only feed water this weeks since the plants have the long lasting nutrient in the soil already with the Bio Bloom from greenhousefeeding. It is also 42 days since Flowering, therefore i did a second much lighter defoliation. I took away some yellow leaves at the bottom, some popcorn buds that had no chance to grow big enough and some leaves that would cover other budsights. From here on out i will not cut anything away anymore if we dont meet anything like mold or budrot.
