Nov 12/24:
After 17 hours in the pH balanced spring water, transfered to a wet paper towel for 48 hours, keeping the paper towel wet and temp at 75-85F. 2 of the 3 sprouted within the 48 hours with just over 1/4 in taproot, the 3rd took 24 hours more. Seeds transfered to 3gal pots with 65% Promix BX and 35% Perlite. I seem to have to water the media around the seed every 8 hours or so, drying very quick but I am also trying not to drown the seeds. This is my first grow, please let me know if you guys have any suggestions, any and all help is appreciated and encouraged! Will be using the FloraTrio and CalMag along with LST and Maybe topping, I heard topping autos is controvertial, what do you guys think? BTW 3 wet tea towels in the grow box took 40% humidity to 85% when changed 1-2 times per day and a small space heater set at 24C.
Nov 13/24:
Day 3 in their final pots and 1 of the plants has sprouted, made it above the media, and dropped the seed casing off. the other one is above the media but seed casing is still attached to the cotyledons. Now that they have reached above the media I will start to water around the water bottle humidity domes to encourage root growth. Any tips or recommendations are more than welcome!
HI :)
For the first grow, I honestly wouldn't worry too much. You seem to be somewhat well informed already, which will definitely help along the way :)
Just let her do her thing and grow. Watch her and take notes. That's kinda what these diaries are for!
Your first few grows are going to be part of a learning process and mistakes will be made. Get to know your plant and the strain.
To get to your other questions, I would leave the fans leaves be and keep tucking them, until your plant is bigger and can afford to lose the bigger fan leaves. For now, your plant needs photosynthesis. To do that, it needs leaves.
Secondly, if your plant was just recently flipped, removing the lower nodes now could stress her even more. Remember, she is producing new hormones and having to move new nutrients (P and K). Let her do her thing another week or so and then remove the lower nodes and foliage, if that was what you intended to do.
Just like a human, plants need time to work through new situations. It's best not to rush her.
Hope this helps :)
