All seeds popped open within 3 days. Used Eazy-plugs, and a heating mat.
All in a little plastic greenhouse.
High humidity level.
Until now all look good.
Though the seedling looked all good at first,
The two Gorilla start showing stunted growth.
They had trouble getting out of the outer seed shell and are taking a visually signifigant delay.
Strawberry Gorilla and Gorilla Zkittlez got topped and I performed LST.
The two Gorilla plants lack behind. Due to their stunted growth, no topping for them.
Topping and LST for the two Gorilla plants. They show different phenos. One very bushy with leaves that are hanging down, though I do not over water.
SG and GZ are entering flowering.
Still not adding fertilizer.
Continued the LST on all the plants.
SG and GZ show a less dense leaf structure. They are now well into flowering.
Lollipopped SG and GZ
The 2 Gorillas lack behind but the 1 m2 grow cabinet starts to fill up nicely.
GZ (and to lesser extent the SG) showed magnesium deficiency, but also a little nitrogen deficiency. Probably dur to the Coco choir that I added, the soil is slightly less rich. Both received a higher dose of nutrient and gave them a little growth regulator boost (Superthrive).
GZ and SG recovered from Mag deficiency, but now have a little Calcium issues.
Started to add some CalMag
Testing the runoff pH is very interesting. watering at pH 6,6 and the runoff is 6,9 for GG1. Others are at 6.6 So next watering will also e with a pH of 6,6
GG1 is showing a huge stretch, now surpassing the SG and GZ
GZ and SG well into flowering stage. The buds are fattening up, trichomes start laying a fine layer of snow over the calyxes.
New stigmata are being produced, though the first ones show signs of senescence.
GG1 is now the talles plant in the room, two branches show slight light damage on the top leaves. In consequence I put the light up.
All are getting full dose of Biobizz for week 8 with additional CalMag.
in SG and GZ a second wave of pitils is forming. first wave now heve swollen bract and the buds are seriously fatteining up.
Warked stickiness and trichomes start to lay a light white cover.
SG has a pH issue. Watering at pH 6.5, then 10 percent run-off is at pH7.1. Leaves show high pH damage with veinal chlorosis. I will probably flush it with pHed water at 6,5 the add fertlizer.
GG1 and GG2 start building marked buds. The stretch is now finished for GG1, GG2m was lagging behind but has finally also stretched a bit.
SG and GZ are now producing the 4th wave of new flowers.
SG is already covered in trichomes, very strong smell
GZ has less visible tichomes, though in the microscope you see that they're present.
Glassy and cloudy, on the older sugar leaves some amber. But still week from harvest.
Flushed the GZ because last time the runoff pH was 7.1, when watering with pH 6.5
The GG1 and GG2 are building nice buds, the space is a bit narrow,
SG is getting very close to harvest, incredibly strong smell, pungent and sweet... She starts taking out nutrients of the fan leaves.
GZ is now delivering the 5th wave of flowers, new stigmae form though now there are smaller patches, so I geuss she'll be ready within the next 2 weeks.
GG1 and GG2 start fatteing up the buds. GG2 is to bushy, directed a fan at it to increase air circulation.
Almost harvest:
SG: solid fat kolas nicely covered with a layer of trichomes. Some amber turning up, in upper flowers on the old sugar leaves.
The smell is intense!! It has bee increasing an is now sweet , gassy...
GZ: Long buds, still throwing new flowers, this one doesn't want to stop :)
DEcent smell, fruity/lemon. Trichomes smaller than GZ
Both GG still need a few weeks,
GG2 is very bushy, need to get her some space.
The Strawberry Gorilla has been harvested. Now the other ones can use more space.
The GG2 is developing fat buds. Being such a bushy plant full of leaves I m precautions for bud rot occurrence. Therefore:
I added an extra fan and increased the power on the old one
I make sure the temperature does not drop under 20°Celsius,
I installed an air dehumidifier
The plants received nutrient free water for a second time. I want to harvest the GZ it looks ready from the buds and the stigmae(pistils) but the trichomes are not just there yet.
Strawberry Gorilla is a truly amazing strain. It is easy growing and:
-top germination rate
-it responds well to topping combined with LST
-it responds well to supercropping
-it responds well lollipopping
-it responds well to nutrients,
produces dense buds
beautiful purple color
covered in trichomes
very strong smell
gassy and fruity
Apparently is overall a sturdy, healthy cultivar. It is definitly worth a grow. Will update here when drying and curing is done.
Happy to harvest the second plant in this grow. The Gorilla Zkitttlez ran into light nutrient deficiencies during the grow. Nothing that harmed it to much, but enough to get me intervening. I'll update when the drying, trimming and curing is done.
Finally harvest time!
As I suspected Botryris to infest my plants I harvested and wet trimmed.
I opened the buds, that are very dense on GG1 to inspect the interior. I saw no signs, buds not dried or crispy, healthy stems, no fluffy hair, no spores so GG1 seems totally fine,
GG2 might be affected in some spots. No spores but some purple colour ans crispiness...😯. Will have to keep an eye!
I separated them for drying, just to be sure.
