12/17/24 Short facts:
- Watered in about 1,25l
- 16.5cm high
- humidity dome is gone
- defoliated the bottom two leavepairs
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The growth is very good, which is also why I had to remove the humidity dome.
She looks a little bit droopy right now. I’m not sure why, but maybe the soil is a bit too moist, and the humidity is quite low without the dome. (The VPD is at 1.3, which is actually a bad level for a young plant. But she’ll have to deal with it for the rest of the week until the Grease Monkey gets cut down.)
As you can see, I’ve installed the Blumat drip-watering system. I used two carrots/sensors and three drippers per sensor. They form a kind of "S" shape, so two sensors water more on the outside while one waters near the stem.
However, I couldn’t adjust them yet because the soil is still a little too moist. The Blumat Digital Pro Plus is currently showing 70 mbar. I want to maintain a range of 90–100 mbar, as the recommended range is between 50 and 120 mbar.
Also, some more news: I finally have a reverse osmosis system up and running! So the plants will get better water from now on. I suspect something has changed with how the water is being processed. They use water from a nearby river that’s treated, but honestly, that water really sucks! With winter beginning and the temperatures dropping, the pH of the tap water has also changed. This suggests they must have adjusted the processing method. I suspect the CalMag problems and the strange nutrient issues with the other plants may have been caused by the poor-quality tap water.
