Began germinating in a cup of water , with a ph of 6.5. 24 hours later I placed them in rapid rooter plugs and put them in the propagation dome, with a heating mat. After 2 days they both sprouted, and I transplanted into a 3 gallon pot. They now sit in a tent, under a Mars-Hydro Reflector 96 LED. Lighting schedule is 18/6.
Left on holiday for a week. My stepdaughter looked in on them for me. They seem to be trucking along. I was at Disneyland, so I'll give them appropriate names. However, I haven't partaken in 9 days, so I need to go do that. Cheers, and thanks for looking!
Had some yellowing of lower leaves. I needed to add blooming nutrients, but the soil was still pretty wet. So I waited. They've started growing upward.
Both girls stretched 4 inches this week. Tyrone 2 Is really starting to smell amazing. T1 is much bushier. Had some bottom leaves yellow a little. To combat this, I have increased increased the nutrients. I gathered that most autoflowers are light feeders, so I erred on the side of caution. This probably hurt some of the early growth, but I still have another seed. 😄
Both girls are doing well. They're frosting up like cereal in the 80's. Tyrone 2, the single spear, smells just a little sweeter, and a little stronger. After last week's post, I performed a bit of LST on Tyrone 1, to open up her bud sites. I'll be giving just pH'ed water for the duration. I nearly forgot to mention, at the beginning of the week, I began light defoliation on Tyrone 1. Because they're autos, I only do one leaf per day.
Almost harvest time. I've just been giving the girls water this week, flushing. T2 is a little bit ahead, cannibalizing her leaves a bunch. T1 is starting to. The trichomes are mostly milky, with a couple gone amber. I'll probably chop them both on Monday.
I cut a lower bud from T2 this week. Pretty good. I can't wait to try it dried and cured.
I had fun growing this strain. They were my first indoor autoflowers, and I feel like I have learned a lot. I have one more Tyrone seed that I'll pop later. Aside from some early underfeeding, and the unadvisable initial transplant, they pretty much grew themselves.
The smoke is a little different for each one. Tyrone 1 took 5 days longer, and was the bigger plant. The smell is very earthy, with pine and fuel. After two weeks of curing, it will smell up the entire house within seconds of opening the jar. It is a little bit trippier than the smaller plant, perhaps taking a little more sour diesel from its genetics. There is a slight body buzz, with a moderate burst of energy. It is pretty visually stimulating. Great for video games.
Tyrone 2 smells sweeter. It smells fruity, and earthy. When smoking, I can occasionally taste mango. This one was the creeper. With moderation, it gives a clear headed high, also with a slight body buzz. Smoke a bunch of it and you'll find that you feel as if you're underwater, gently swaying with the ocean currents. But with a cup or two of espresso. I was playing games with a friend and could neither figure out the game, nor what he was saying to me for a half hour. 😜
