placed the seed in a solo cup and sprayed with tap water almost everyday a few sprits. I also used foxfarm ocean forest potting soil and pre- amended with "down to earth 444 vegetable garden" and "484 rose and flower mix" along with organic worm castings.
transplanted from solo cup to 5 gallon fabric pots with the same pre-amended soil. started watering with water at 6.3 PH. light intensity at 50% and dimmed down.
i really only watered with water PH at 6.3ish ( my water ph tester decided to start malfunctioning on me this week ) but seeing steady growth which was cool to see day by day! and placed another tester on order this week to come next week!
this week my new PH tester came in and I was able to start being more accurate with the water PH. Didn't add any nutrients, still working with the Pre Amended Soil for now... i also turned the dim feature off and had the intensity at around 40% while the 18"-20" above the canopy!
started watering about 1 liter of water each watering ( Mondays and Thursdays) with PH 6.3 tap water. loved the growth haven't seen any deficiencies yet...
This week the plant started to preflower! I started using fox farms nutrients ( grow big, cal-mag, big bloom, tiger bloom) at about half the suggested amounts once on Thursdays and will flush every Monday or when soil is dry but I have noticed the fox farm soil tends to hold its water for a while so definitely will use perlite in the next grow. also turned up the light intensity to around 55% and moved it up about 3 inches
this week I Switched my feeding to focus on bigger stronger buds, added tiger bloom, and stopped grow big nutrients. kept the light intensity the same and I also keep flushing on Mondays as well and the plant seems to be responding well. i don't want to over feed and cause burns and stunt the growth so I'm checking in everyday in the morning and night time.
this week I noticed the soil was a bit warm so when I flushed I used cold water and that seemed to do good by the plant so not sure if there's science behind it but I like the results but not many changes really this week other than the mixture amounts, started adding more my goal is 6oz from this grow. i also started adding around 2 liters of water noticing the plant getting dry early and having to water a day early.
this week steady on dec 12 is my feeding day so they in a few hours they will get fed the above mixture and i will add around 2 liters of water and the water will be room temperature. also the light is up farther and the intensity is 100%
Began adding nutrients on thursdays and flushing with ph water on Monday to remove and prevent salt build up in the soil for the heavy nutrient mixtures that I was usually adding every Monday and Thursday. Buds are really starting to swell
This week starting to see the colors come in from the leaves and the buds , noticed a bit of slowed growth so I did a bottom soak to check the soil ph in the sink , noticed to ph of the soil was at about 6.6 which was out of the optimal nutrient uptake spec so I ph the bottom water back to 6.2 making sure the fabric pot soaked in the water for about 20 minutes and continuously top watered with the water that was 6.2 to somewhat stabilize the soil and lowered it to 6.2-6.3 range will check the results next week !
