New RDWC System - Learning the Ropes
I recently switched to a new RDWC system, and it’s been a learning curve so far. The setup includes a 20L tank, recirculating water, and top-feed irrigation lines for four plant buckets filled with clay pebbles. To monitor and control the environment more efficiently, I’ve also added an AC Infinity grow controller and a humidifier to the mix—still getting the hang of both!
One thing I’ve noticed is that there’s no air stone in the tank itself, only in the plant buckets. I’m curious to hear what the community thinks about this—does it make a big difference, or is it fine as is?
Another issue I’m encountering is with the top-feed system, which runs continuously. When I turn off the irrigation, the pump becomes louder and heats up, raising the water temperature. I’m wondering if keeping the top-feed on all the time is okay or if anyone has advice on how to manage this more effectively.
To tackle these challenges, I’ve already upgraded to more powerful air stones and a new air pump to improve oxygenation. I’ve also started using Purolyt to combat root rot and improve water hygiene. It’s a new approach for me, but I’m optimistic it will help.
This grow has been a mix of trial and error, but I’m determined to improve the setup and make it work. Every step is a learning experience, and I’d love to hear your tips and feedback!

RDWC Update - Strong Growth & Intense Aroma! 🌱🔥
All three of my plants are looking fantastic and showing strong, healthy growth. The Mac n Cheese has the most intense aroma so far – it's really starting to stand out!
Every week, I prepare 40 liters of nutrient solution for my 4 plants. Based on their uptake, each plant drinks about 1.43 liters per day.
Unfortunately, my Pink Rozay turned hermie, which was really disappointing. I had high hopes for this strain, but I had no choice but to remove it. Still, I‘m focusing on the remaining plants and excited to see how they continue to develop!
🚀🌿
The pics are from begin of week 5.
