DivineBuds420 New round, new luck, this time I've got GMO Zkittlez F-1 from Ethos Genetics (Regular), I'm excited about the ladies. This grow is running as usual with the combination of Autopots and Biotabs. Watering is done with water from the reverse osmosis system. The substrate is Biobizz light mix, with an addition of about 300ml perlite and 7g dolomite lime per liter of light mix. The different components of Biotabs will be added during repotting, expected in the second week of growth. The seeds were germinated in a tissue between two plates. The plates are sitting in the tent on the heating mat. After one day, all but 4 seeds had pre-germinated. 2 of the non-germinated seeds looked unpromising from the start (very small and light), so I sorted those out a few days later. All the other seeds were planted in 1l (or 1.5l?) pots, including the remaining two that hadn't germinated yet. After a few days, the seedlings stretched their heads out of the soil and discovered the light of their little world. The little ones seem to be stretching a bit; when I repot them, I'll just plant them a little deeper in the soil and then it won't be noticeable anymore.

DivineBuds420 First week of growth, the babies are in their 1L pots in Biobizz Light Mix. 13 little seedlings made it and are happily growing towards the light. (The little ones are all on the right in the black tray.) Let's grow 💪🏼💚

DivineBuds420 We are in the second week of growth and everything looks good. This week marks the first repotting and the first addition of nutrients. At the same time as the repotting, the plants will also move into their final 80x80x180cm tent. To best compare the plants and possibly keep a pheno later on, I decided to grow them all in the same tent under the same light. To manage this in my limited space, I'm using pot dividers, which divide my 4 Autopot pots into quarters. So, there are 16 spots available. To fill all the spots, I added 3 automatics (yes, I know, letting automatics flower later at 12/12 isn't optimal), which I still had in the tent. The automatics are sharing a pot with a GMO Zkittlez in the front left. The plan now is to wait until the plants show their sex, sort out the males, and send the females into flowering. To fill the space of the sorted males, I cut clones from another strain, but unfortunately, it was way too late for that. So, I need to come up with something or just leave the spots empty if necessary. We will see - let's go with the flow 🤗 The plants have now been planted in a quarter of the 8.5l pots from Autopots, so they each have about 2.125l of substrate. Additionally, the plants received a whole bunch of nutrients - hopefully, this goes well.

DivineBuds420 Third week of growth. The plants have made a good jump in height. However, it seems they are not doing very well... Since I felt it was actually too early during repotting and nutrient addition in the second week of growth, I initially assumed it was over-fertilization. Then I thought about a possible Cal/Mag deficiency and cautiously mixed some dolomite lime into the top layer of the substrate. A colleague brought up a third thought. He suggested that maybe the pots are just too small, which could be balanced out with more nutrients. Tough situation 😵‍💫💫🤯 Well, I will keep an eye on everything for a few more days, think it over, and then act accordingly.

DivineBuds420 We're in the fourth week of the growth phase. Last week, I first felt like it was getting worse, then it seemed to improve. To be honest, I'm still not 100% sure what the exact problem is or what the plants are lacking. Have they gone from a Cal/Mag deficiency to over-fertilization? 🤔 Or is it really just the small pots...? Well, the plants are now definitely in groups of four in their 15l pots (final pots), so they each have about 3.75l of substrate,... with the usual mix + Biotabs palette (unfortunately, I can't find any options here for quantity specifications of solid/ granular fertilizers like g/l (substrate)) Also, they got a nice BoomBoom spray shower, fantastic stuff - I love it and the plants love it even more. The pot with the automatics is now in the back left.

DivineBuds420 The fifth week starts with a (partial) defoliation, the leaf canopy has grown very dense again. The leaves are getting a richer green again. At some point in the next few weeks, they should reveal their sex, but they are still a bit shy. I see the first signs, but I can't interpret them clearly yet - just wait and drink tea. I added an air stone to the water tank of my Autopot system. Will it make a big difference? - no idea. Could it harm? - I don't think so. Slowly, the first female pre-flowers are showing, but I can't determine the sex of all 13 plants with certainty yet.

DivineBuds420 The plants are growing well and to be honest, they are getting a bit too big for me now, as I'm expecting a relatively strong stretch. I'm still looking for signs of sex determination, but unfortunately, I still can't determine it with certainty for all the plants. To possibly keep one or more phenos after the grow, I've already taken some cuttings. I've also removed some leaves again. Since I'm worried about the space in the tent and the upcoming stretch, I've decided to shorten this week and initiate flowering. I will now have to keep an eye out for males and remove them before I hang the net in the tent - it will probably be a bit of work to weave the shoots in afterward, but oh well. This week has been shortened to 5 days.

DivineBuds420 The first week of flowering starts. Actually, I wanted to sort out all the males before starting the flowering, but the plan changed, as it often does. By the end of the week, I sorted out 7 males, so there are 6 females left. I tried to fill the gaps that were created. I added 3x Red Mandarine. Unfortunately, I had to "adjust" the root balls to make everything fit - let's see if they can handle the stress.

DivineBuds420 The second week of flowering starts for the ladies with food in the form of 5ml of Biotabs Bio PK 5-8 each. I’m starting with half the dose and observing how the plants behave. I dissolved the Bio PK in less water (about 300ml / 5ml / per plant) than recommended to avoid flooding the trays. I assume with 4 liters of nutrient solution per pot, the trays would overflow otherwise. I also removed some leaves again. Some leaves have a relatively unique character. A few days after the last leaf trim, I hung the net - better late than never. On that occasion, I also removed some more leaves. To see what I might expect, I ordered a bit of GMO zkittlez from my trusted pharmacist. A bit special, but I really like it. 🙏🏼💪🏼 The ladies received the second half of the Bio PK. The lamp is running at 150W power.

DivineBuds420 The third week of flowering starts, and the ladies are getting their mix of Orgatrex and Bactrex. Here too, I deactivate the watering in time, give half of the nutrients first, and a few days later the other half. (The Red Mandarine gets the same treatment, just a week delayed.) The ladies have lost some leaves and received a second net - life is about give and take. The lamp is running at about 170w power.

DivineBuds420 For the GMO zkittlez, flowering week 5 starts, and for the Red Mandarine, it's flowering week 4. The Red Mandarine is getting another dose of the good old Bio PK 5-8 this week. One GMO Zkittlez is showing noticeable discoloration and slight burn, possibly light stress, but it could be another cause - but it will be fine. I was aware from the beginning that growing 4 plants of this size together in just 15 liters of substrate could be a challenge. No risk, no fun. I never lose. I either win or learn.

DivineBuds420 🌱 Buckle up, the wild ride continues! 🚀 Given the circumstances, some challenges were to be expected. A few plants are struggling, and it seems to be related to the light intensity and its balance with nutrient availability. On top of that, they have grown way bigger than anticipated – an impressive feat considering the limited amount of substrate they have to work with. Let’s see how they handle the next phase. Stay tuned! 🔥🌿

DivineBuds420 🌸 Week 8 of flowering – the final stretch begins! The girls are pushing hard: Buds are swelling, trichomes are popping, and subtle color shifts are starting to appear. Each pheno is telling its own story – some sweet, some gassy, others leaning into tropical funk. I love this phase of the grow: watching, comparing, feeling. Choosing the keeper won’t be easy – but that’s the beauty of the game. Let them shine!

GMO Zkittlez is a fascinating hybrid that stands out with its unique terpenes and varying phenos during growth. Its aromas range from earthy, peppery notes to sweet, fruity Zkittlez variants. What’s especially intriguing is the diversity of the phenos: while some plants exhibit a dominant garlic flavor typical of GMO, others reveal intense citrus or berry undertones, making each plant a unique discovery. The growth itself is just as diverse as the flavor. The phenos can vary greatly in size, structure, and yield, making it an interesting challenge for growers. Some plants grow into true giants, while others remain more compact – but all produce dense, resinous buds with impressive potency. GMO Zkittlez is a perfect choice for those who enjoy experimenting and want to experience a wide-ranging flavor profile alongside a strong, relaxing, and creatively stimulating effect.

DivineBuds420 An intense run comes to an end – packed with valuable lessons. The phenos were wildly different: some could’ve come down a week earlier, others might have wanted a little more sun to fully shine. We sadly lost part of one plant to bud rot, and a few may not have reached their true potential. But maybe that’s what made this grow so special – the variety, the surprises, the learning. Some buds look like divine artwork, others carry the marks of challenge and transformation. Now it’s time to process, reflect, and truly get to know them. Each plant brought its own frequency – and this grow definitely left its mark.

Healthy and beautiful ladies. You're on a good path. I love the P+K booster from BioTabs, it also has good sugar in it for the soil life, a feast. 😉 It’s being absorbed great. I also gave mine a compost tea.

Your self-grown stuff will leave pharmacy weed in the dust when it comes to taste. I've tried strains from the pharmacy by name before and found not the slightest resemblance. There's just nothing better than well-dried homegrow. Take it from an old grower, Growmie. 😏😁

DivineBuds420 commented1y ago
Thanks for the lovely feedback, it really boosts the excitement for the first joint. 😮‍💨 I've also noticed the inferiority of medical weed compared to really well homegrown stuff. 🙄 I suspect a lot of medical cannabis suffers from improper storage and poor transport. In my opinion, all products that are primarily created (and traded) as commercial goods, with profit as the main focus, are clearly inferior. A product made out of love, whether for the product itself or for the act of creation, will always be superior. I think that's one of the reasons why homegrown weed will always taste better than commercial weed (whether legal or illegal). Love is the magical ingredient... Not just in growing, but in every moment of our lives. Peace, Love, happiness and big buds to you, growmie! 🙏🏻💚🙌🏻🍀
