Borberad In this diary, we want to take you on our journey through the cultivation of Dark Devil Auto from Sweet Seeds. As passionate growers, we are excited to share our experiences and insights with you. Our goal is to document the entire process from germination to harvest in detail, creating a valuable reference for both ourselves and other growers. Dark Devil Auto is a fascinating autoflowering strain that stands out with its dark coloring and potent effects. This indica-dominant variety promises an intense and relaxing experience. With its fast growth and resilience, it is a popular choice for growers looking for a high-yielding and straightforward strain. Let's grow Dark Devil Auto! At the beginning of the journey, a nicely striped seed gets to soak in hydrogen peroxide for 20 hours. Afterwards, it will be planted directly into a 20L fabric pot to avoid stressing the autoflower and ourselves unnecessarily. 😉 Since we decided to train the plant at an angle from the start, it will be sown a bit to the side in a small coconut tab.

Borberad Week 6 A bit more training and some leaf removal, and then hopefully it will really kick off with the flowering. It should be done in 2 1/2 to 3 weeks after all. Due to the rather stressful training, it will probably take longer.

Borberad The week starts with a bit of LST and removing some leaves that are shading other shoots. Meanwhile, there's a little Calmag problem as can be seen on the large leaves. Flushing with osmosis water (pH 6.3 with 40 microSiemens) until about 500ml of drain resulted in (800 microsiemens and pH 6.4), so fertilization will be adjusted accordingly.

Borberad Week 8 and it's slowly time for some Lollipopping. Not too late yet, but it's time. The lady is showing us her beautiful colors now, but we need to boost the nutrients and be careful not to overdo it. It will be tricky to manage that in the few weeks left.

Borberad Week 9 has begun. The buds are shining in the most beautiful shades of purple. Unfortunately, our Calmag problem is still not resolved, so we recalculated. Our osmosis water is of course free from Cal and Mag, so we can increase to 4ml/l without any issues. Fortunately, it will take at least another 10 to 14 days until harvest. This gives us time to adjust. For a few days now, we have supplemented our fabric pots with a self-watering system. (See photo) Just added a wick to the existing grid in the saucer, and now it can be watered from the bottom without the flower standing in water. However, if possible, only pure water should be supplied from below. Somehow, the wicks seem to be getting salty and then don't work properly anymore.

Borberad The last two weeks have begun. We're reducing the amount of nitrogen by using less Bloom and instead adding more Boost or in the meantime Pk 13/14 to keep the phosphorus and potassium addition at as similar a level as possible. So, in relation to nitrogen, we’re raising it.

Borberad Overall, the grow was a success all around. We had a nice harvest and learned something new again. We didn't counteract the completely missing minerals in our osmosis water enough for the little flower. The Calmag issues that arose accompanied us throughout the grow, and we couldn't fully get them under control until the harvest. This made us delve a bit more into the topic and adjust the dosage of calcium and magnesium specifically for our osmosis water. Even though other plants didn't show this problem as clearly as the dark devil here, we believe that with a bit more Calmag, it will also help the other little flowers.
