You are fine , people will often say not to do it with an HID bulb because if you leave the light to close it will burn up your plant . Provided your light is high enough above your canopy 20 inches or so you should be fine , you may also want to consider a way of ventilation to help facilitate this process . I always start my seedlings with HID bulbs , you can look at all my grows they are all done the same way in respect to the lighting . The only reason you would use LED or CFL bulbs to start your plant is so that you can essentially keep the light right on the plant preventing it from "stretching" with lower heat . To me that's just a waste of time and money so I just do it HID .People often use lower wattage lighting because the plant can only absorb so many photons in the leaves as well but I mean if you plant seeds outside the son has a ridiculous photon rating and the plants live haha . Based on what I see in your pictures your plants are doing fine with now signs of heat stress at all . I would even consider lowering your light by 5 inches or so so the light penetration is stronger . Over all your seedlings look happy and healthy and if you think its working well for you then don't change anything :) . I hope this information helps you understand the various ways to grow a seedling and that you dont need LED or CFL to do it , you can do it with HID you just have to be a little more cautious . -Happy Growing!

Hey if you can hang the sticky cards above the plants this is best for thrips as they'll fly into them. But keeping some low at soil is always a good idea also. ✌️

@littlepump, hahahah! That's so funny you say that, i think we've all been on the receiving end of the sticky attack. I always have my hair pulled back now when i go battle the grow space.

distance should be arround 10 cm per 100w of HPS when in seedling stage..but put a small fan blowing on the plants so they dont stretch too much.. i would also look out with that mist maker, dont go over 70%, especially at night because it will clog your filter. nice clean setup btw ;)
