Hey HalfBreed, you have root rot from not using a chelation or cleansing agent . Anything that looks brown dark brownish, you can litterally clip off , this technique is called root pruning, it wont shock or hurt your plant, in fact it might promote growth. To prevent this from happening you want something like hydroguard and to add a chelation agent like enzymes or humic and fluvic acids so that you prevent this problem rather than chase it or solve it once it's too late.
