MICROGROW WeedSeedsExpress LSD Auto + Biotabs Just Add Water Indoor
kohlrabi There is one free slot in the grow tent - this had to be changed. As my seeds didn't survive the last move, I was very grateful to receive two varieties sponsored by WeedSeedsExpress: LSD and Permanent Marker. Thank you very much! These are the smallest seed packets I've ever seen! :D
This time I'm starting with LSD, I strain I like a lot.
After 6 days the seed hatched. It gets my biggest air pot (thanks to Mia!), because I've found that bigger pots - in soil - mean better conditions. It's also easier to do low stress training with it.
My first grow with Bio Tabs was a sensational success - it was incredible to see excellent results with so little effort. So this grow will also go with Bio Tabs again - due to the size of the pot there are 3 tabs this time.
The ‘Just Add Water’ strategy consists of first mixing the ‘Startrex’ and ‘Silicium Flash’ powders into the soil, then adding a teaspoon of ‘Mycotrex’ to a hole and, after sowing the seeds, soaking the soil with a ‘Bactrex’ water mixture (1 teaspoon of Bactrex per litre). And that's it; the whole thing takes 10 minutes and fertilising is done for the rest of the grow.
As a substrate, I'm using the T.A. light mix again, which is without peat and has perfect conditions for cannabis.
There is no prefabricated Lego figure that fits the name ‘LSD’ well - so I made one myself. :D
Let's go!

kohlrabi Exactly one week ago it had just barely emerged from the soil, so it's probably no wonder that it's not as big as other plants at one week - but let's wait and see.
Another unknown plant is peeking out of my air pot. How cute! But the pot is huge (20 litres) and maybe it won't get enough water at the beginning to stay for long.
No new fertilizers or boosters, that has all happened right before planting.

I apologise - this diary will have to take a short break. I suspect that something fell on the tender sprout at the start of the grow. Anyway, this plant didn't grow at all for quite a long time, and now it has reached a kind of bonsai status: there are several pairs of leaves, but they are tiny and have very little space between the nodes. Instead of throwing the plant away, I planted it in an equally tiny pot - only a mere 3 litres. A new seed of the same variety went into the large pot (a full 20 litres). As soon as it has germinated and grown a bit, I'll post updates here again. Stay tuned!

kohlrabi Well, well, well. I was actually planning on interrupting this journal until the next LSD seed was up in the same week. That didn't work out - unfortunately I had no luck germinating it. Next time I'll definitely use a Root Riot Cube or similar; maybe it had something to do with the soil mix.
Instead of letting this journal go to waste now, I'll keep it going for the mini plant I put in a pot of a mere 3.8 litres and call it a microgrow. Clever, isn't it?
The plant has perked up pretty well, as you can see. It only has one fertiliser tab. Let's see how that turns out!

kohlrabi I think this is perhaps the first time I've been over a fortnight late with my journals. I apologise for that! I'm sure you've all been eagerly awaiting the updates. But unfortunately, real life comes first. I vow to do better.
However, the photos were taken at the right time.
The flowering period has begun! The plant has shot up quite a bit and is now half a metre tall. Unfortunately, there are also slight signs of deficiency on the leaves. That's not surprising as it only has 3 litres of soil and a single tab, so I've added a few nutrients.
Such a small pot is a pretty bad idea when watering by hand. Almost nothing sticks. Luckily I've installed a wick so I have a bit of water in the reservoir at the bottom.

kohlrabi With a little delay and only a single picture taken in passing, this update has to make do. The plant has almost doubled in size in a week and is nearly 90cm high. Can I still call this a ‘microgrow’ with a clear conscience? I'm afraid not. Only the pot is small, as well as the effort involved in this entry. More soon!

kohlrabi We were on holidays (in Barcelona, what a great city!) and a friend took care of the plants. Thanks to the solid fertilizer, he only had to add water. No news and no fancy pictures, you'll have to wait for the next update.

kohlrabi ‘If you go on a journey, you can experience something,’ says an old German proverb somewhat ambiguously. This time I found out that my flower waterer is not the most reliable. The plants are not in the fade phase, but had lots of yellow, withered leaves after my return.
I removed everything that had dried out and - this time carefully - watered them. I also gave them Bactrex again. Hopefully the plants will recover. So far it looks quite good.
LSD is the tallest and most fragile of the plants in the grow box, but I'm pleased to be seeing a little thicker flowers after my poor start with her.

kohlrabi Bad and good news: A child of mine found my Lego and now it's all over the place. Good news: He added new hats.
10 weeks old now, but the trichomes are still mostly clear.
Even though I water twice daily (because of the tiny pot), she still has some dry leaves every now and then.

kohlrabi THE END IS NEAR!
Actually, I should cut her down today, but I might not get round to it until tomorrow. This spider-like plant has been through a lot and you can see it in its poor condition. I'm not expecting a good yield. The buds have remained rather small. But I've also learnt a lot from this grow and I'm grateful to be able to try out a few things.
Considering that this plant initially refused to grow and then had to eke out an existence in a 3-litre pot, a yield of 165g (perhaps around 50g dry?) is not bad at all. The smell is pleasant. I smoked a strain with a similar name from another company once before, and even though it looks different, they smell very similar. I'm curious to see what the effect is like.

kohlrabi The plant had an average number of leaves and relatively few trichomes on the sugar leaves. The trim won't really be usable for butter. But I was glad that I only had to spend an hour and a half trimming.
Next time, I'll remember to water more and in good time.
