KensingtonFarms Life begins anew! This Green Gelato from Royal Queen just popped today. I started the seed in a cup of water for almost 24 hours and then put it right in a starter plug and into a 5 gallon geosynthetic pot filled with a 3-1-1 mixture of Canna Coco, GS1 Growstones, and perlite. Germinating time was 3 days, which is nice and quick. For now I'm simply giving the plant approximately 60ml of plain reverse osmosis water, with a pH of 6.3, each day. During veg I am using eight 24" T5 lights and use a mixed spectrum. Six white and two red lights. The plants are living in a 90cm x 90cm x 180cm Secret Jardin DR90 with a single 6" clip fan.
I would like to thank everyone who follows this diary and would also like to give a big thanks to the people at Royal Queen. Happy growing!
Day 4 update: I've given the plant it's first true watering. During veg I'll be using Canna Coco A+B, Cannazym, and Elite 91 Myco Jordan (mycorrhizal inoculant). Since I use the Myco, which is a beneficial bacteria and helps the plant with nutrient intake, I go half strength on all nutrients. The Myco is the reason I have started using a reverse osmosis filter for plant water. The water company where I live uses chloramine in the water and that would kill the beneficial bacteria. Chloramine, unlike chlorine, will not evaporate. So, if you are using a beneficial, check and see what your water company puts in the water.

KensingtonFarms Day 16 update: The little lady had a bit of a growth spurt for her sweet 16 birthday! Grew a little over a half centimeter since yesterday.
Day 21 update: She really took off this week and just about doubled in size. A couple pairs of side shoots have formed as well.

KensingtonFarms Day 33 update: Gave the lady another feeding. Still watering at half strength just once a week. One thing I do, since the little one is sharing a tent with 3 other plants, is to rotate the pot 90 degrees every day. By doing this it will help ensure light is penetrating to all areas of the plant. Little things like this go a long way in growing a healthy plant.
Day 35 update: The lady got up into the lights a little bit during the day and a couple leaves got burned slightly. Nothing too bad though. One of the benefits of T5s!

KensingtonFarms Day 36 update: She's almost ready for taking some clones. This weekend I plan on cutting a few from the bottom of the plant.
Day 39 update: Cloning day! I took clones from the bottom four branches. I dip the cuttings into some Elite 91 Clones solution and then put them into a starter plug that has been soaked in reverse osmosis water, with a pH of 6.3, which contains some Elite 91 Myco Jordan. I have noticed a difference in how fast clones start rooting using the Myco and usually see roots in 9-14 days. Taking clones from the bottom branches also helps clean up and improve low air flow around the plant.
Day 40 update: Gave the lady another watering.
Day 41 update: I topped the little one today. I'm looking forward to testing out some Plant Bends :)

KensingtonFarms Day 46 update: I moved the little one into a tent which has a 440w LED today. I currently have only the veg lights turned on and will have things continue like this for another couple weeks.
Day 47 update: Gave her another watering.
Day 48 update: I started using some low stress training today. I'm using Plant Bends for the first time and they are awesome. Normally I would use soft wire when doing self supported LST. These nifty little contraptions make life much easier. I'll keep bending the upper branches until the lower ones catch up in height a little. Then... flower time.

In addition to the Myco Jordan and half dosage of Canna A+B & Cannazym, I started using a half dose of Fox Farm Open Sesame and Terpinator. I have also lowered the pH to 5.8. I will continue with this nutrient solution for the next three weeks.

KensingtonFarms Day 71 update: Flower hairs have started appearing!
Day 72 update: Gave her another watering.
Day 73 update: I have been slowly pruning the plant for the last few weeks. Sometimes you will get some side branches from a main stalk that will start branching out. I don't like this. I find the last week of veg and first 2-3 weeks of flowering a good time to prune branching stems that stretch. Instead of three small fingernail size nugs, I'd rather have the plant focus it's energy into one decent thumb sized flower. This particular cultivar has been branching out quite a bit and has been challenging to prune. I'm going to have a ton of nice sized nugs if things go right though.
Day 77 update: Time for another watering.

KensingtonFarms Day 135 update: Harvest time! Flowering time was 69 days.
As I cut off each of the branches, I strip as many leaves by hand as possible. It's real easy to snap them off right at the base of the stem and this helps make the buds look nice. I immediately manicure the flowers after stripping the plants. I then use a tomato cage to hang the branches with the manicured flowers still on and put the cage in a small grow tent for drying.
So far this cultivar has an earthy, somewhat grassy smell. It reminds me of a Mental Floss x Johnny Blaze plant I was growing a year or so ago. I'm curious to see what she tastes like after she cures for a bit.
I needed to do a little bit of low stress training with this one. She was a bit compact in the middle so I had to bend some branches outward to get more light penetration down the middle. She needed quite a bit of pruning too. The nodes off each branch had a tendency to start stretching, so I cut a bunch back so they would form a single flower. A bit leafy too. While not difficult to grow, this was a lady that definitely required some TLC.

KensingtonFarms Gets you baked. Definitely a bit uplifting, Has a grassy, earthy, hoppy flavor and smell to it. There's a slight bite when taking a hit, but not overbearing. I was a bit disappointed with the weight of the harvest. Hopefully, I can get those numbers up with the clone I started flowering a couple weeks ago.
beautiful genetics that you planted ... did I notice that you use terpinator? what can you tell me about this product? to flavor plants? I thank you for all the answers and nice to meet you.
@NOLOGIK,Thanks! Yup, I use Terpinator. I've found that it does as advertised and helps with smell and flavor of the plants. Some smells and tastes that were very slight on some strains became much more pronounced. Works better with some strains than others too so you will have to experiment. Half doses seem to do what needs to be done even without beneficial bacteria.
I also learnt something. About using beneficial bacteria ( I use great white ) and lowering the nutes. Maybe this is why I ended up with lockout.
Thank you for the 🧠👍🏼
@Puffer_Bill, Hi there, sorry to be a pain. But on this same topic how much specificallly lower the nutes. By half or even more than that. I’m very close to this position again and am hoping I can sail through it unscarred. I’m at about 3 quarter strength at the moment with a normal addition of microbes, however next week the addition of microbes in mammoth microbes schedule doubles, I’m thinking here I should possibly be lowering right down to a quarter suggested strengths on nutrients but I’m also worried this may have an adverse effect both quality and yield wise. Any comments you can make would help greatly and thanks for your time should you get the chance to read this.😬
@Damonkey,
Hi to you. 👊🏼
I have used 1/2 of what I would normally use. And wont let my EC go above 1.6.
This is a trial for me, as I was unable to find any real usable info on dosages and Mycorrhizae etc.
Sorry, that I could not help more.
🤞🏼😎🍀
Looking good ... Just got done harvesting a Northern Lights Auto & a AK-49 Auto myself. Currently waiting on my White Widow Auto to finish up. I wish you the same success.Good luck with the rest of your grow
@Puffer_Bill,They are super easy to use. By using them to replace a trellis, it makes it much easier to prune and water the plants by allowing you to rotate the pots.
