Germinated 3 Black Indica fem seeds from Crop King. 100% Success! Roots thru Jiffy Pot on day 6; transplanted to Solo cups. Little stretching bc I set them on windowsill to get real Sun today.
Went ahead and replaced sub-par lighting with 1000-watt COB by OFADD. Has adjustable blue/red spectrum dials. Been going 100% blue, with a 20% splash of red for 2 hours in morning and 3 hours at night. Currently on 18/off 6. No nutes yet, just 6.5 pH Spring water. Planning on SCROG'ing, will top after 3rd node on each. Great genetics, thanks CropKing!
Been an exciting week! Transplanted girls into 1 gallon pots, using Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil. Watered using 1/2 strength Fox Farms Grow Big. Moving forward, will follow Fox Farms SOIL Feeding Schedule. Girls have adapted to LED well, still running 100% vegetative (blue) and approx. 20-30% bloom (red), on an 18/6 schedule. Light produces little heat, tent stays around 75 daytime and around 68 night. Next week, no big changes planned. Hoping to hit 5th node by week 4, and plan on topping at that time.
3.18.19 UPDATE - Fox Farms nutrients turned my girls into monsters! Rapid growth necessitated topping today. Took them all down to 3rd node, and now LST'ng remaining fan leaves to allow light penetration.
Can't believe it's already been 4 weeks! The ladies adapted well to topping, seeing decent branch growth now. LST'd largest fan leaves out of the way, am considering removing them. All three look very healthy, growing like...well, like weeds :) Plan is to continue in veg., top again, and then SCROG. Invested in FoxFarms Dirty Dozen box set, moving forward, will stick with full Week 4 mixture as recommended. pH is remaining around 6.2. Very happy with this grow so far! Another exciting week! Topped and trimmed early in the week, and now am seeing amazing re-growth! All three have already surpassed original pre-topping height, and it's hard to tell I removed the largest fan leaves as more have grown. At this rate, I'm gonna try for another 2-3 weeks veg at 20/4, then see where that takes me. Still following FoxFarms feeding schedule, and so far I must say I'm impressed!
So I am strictly following FoxFarms full soil schedule, and want to continue veg. growth for several more weeks. If my pH levels are fine, do I still need to do a Sledgehammer flush or is it best to wait until just before the change-over to 12/12?
No need to flush, unless you over feed badly. Also, unless you plan to transplant to a bigger pot, there's little sense in veg more time since the plant will not take the full advantage of more veg time in a 1 gallon pot.
3.30.19 – After seeing the explosive growth of my BIG ladies continue, and researching/deciding against going SCROG this grow, I did another defoliation. Took off basically all shaded fan leaves, opening up future bud sights to more light.
4.4.19 - BIG ladies rebounded again from trim. Range in height from 6.5" to 7"; width from 12" x 13". Basically six potential bud sites per plant now. Plan on running 18/6 for 2, maybe 3 more weeks, then flipping to 12/12.
Transplanted BIG ladies into 2-gallon fabric pots. Boy, do they hold a lot of soil! Made some adjustments to tent, added a humidity/temperature tracker. Deep trim on 4/11/19. New plan is to stay in veg for 2 or 3 more weeks, I want them to adjust to recent stressors before going 12/12. Also started foliar feeding 1x weekly with Fox Farms Flower's Kiss. This is my new favorite hobby!
Girls dealt with final trim nicely! All are right around 9" tall. In honor of 4/20, will be flipping to 12/12 on Saturday. (I'm also concerned at how big my ladies are going to get during flowering) Plants are so lush, green, and healthy!
Interesting week. Has become obvious that I have two distinct phenotypes - BIG-1 and BIG-2 are bushy and lush; BIG-3 has stretched significantly with fewer bud sites. All three are starting to smell (in a good "can't wait to smoke these" kind of way), but my filter system is taking care of this nicely.
Starting to see all my girls bulking up a little bit. Lots of bud sites. Next time, definitely going to try manifolding, but for my 1st grow, these are doing extremely well!
Buds are busting out all over! Flower Week 4 saw stretch basically end at 18", and flowers are growing and filling out. BIG 3 has 4 main colas, which is kind of cool! BIG 1 has one bud site that I accidentally FIM'd, but it's cool seeing how the different trims create different effects. Still strictly following Fox Farms nutrients and schedule (thanks FF!) and have had ZERO PROBLEMS (except trying to keep up with the explosive growth!
Another week of filling out and looking fine! Did a minor defoliation to allow more light to lower bud sites. Will probably try to extend harvest by cutting main colas first and letting bottom of plants continue to ripen. Got a jeweler's loop so I can keep a tight watch on trichomes moving forward. I can see the finish line up ahead, 3-4 weeks to go :)

5/28 - Wow, do these girls look and smell great! Buds are filling up, trichomes everywhere! I have one last go at fertilizers planned, then flushing to the finish. Am considering increasing darkness to 13 hours next week and 14 hours final week. Thoughts?
6.2.19 - got a new phone, decided to take some close-up shots of my girls' flowers. So covered in crystals! Down to water only now (pH 6.4), still foliar feeding with Fox Farms Flower's Kiss this week (2x).
6.5.19 - trichomes clouding up, not seeing any amber yet. The aroma is unreal! So close now!
What a long, strange trip it's been :) Last pictures of my BIG girls before the cut. Going to go til Saturday or Sunday, depends on trichomes - seeing about 20% amber now. Plan on a 24-hour dark period before cutting. Did a little bud sample from each - BIG 3 tastes of cherries and hits you HARD, lol! Next report will be of harvest.
Easy grow! Learned a lot - FoxFarm nutrients rock; manifolding in a small space (which I didn't do) is a key to larger yields; also bigger pot = bigger yields. But, as I'm only gardening for personal use, I'm quite happy with the outcome - about 3 oz wet bud, and another 1 oz wet trim. Will definitely grow Crop King Black Indica again!
Final entry - Buds are drying nicely. Ended up with: BIG-1 9 grams; BIG-2 7 grams; BIG-3 8 grams plus another gram of assorted baby buds and a gram of pressed crystals. Not a lot, but plenty for me :) Also got three distinct flavors, surprisingly BIG-2 tastes more fuel-ey than the other two, with BIG-3 remaining sweet and a bit fruity.
Loved being able to go back and see where my girls were at earlier points in their grow cycle. Also great getting to see other folks groning same strain, or growing future strains (think White Widow and Northern Lights!). Will return after cure for dry weight report and taste reports, too!

Yea my buddy told me he didn't flush at all after smoking his flower and i didn't believe him because it tasted wicked good and was super smooth as well he said "it's all in the cure man"😂 but yea i tried it and it was just as good as when I would give just plain pH'd water for a week or 2 to flush so now all i do is give them plain pH'd water for the last 2-4 days. That's how he taught me lol Happy Growing an Plentiful Harvests🙏
