BobrMarley 2025-03-05 as always, about 18 h to acclimate (from fridge to room temp), before getting the seeds wet and make-up pads instead of paper towels. so, let's see about this one then :) 2025-03-06 Set up the pot: 10l Soil Mix ¹ 1 l 60/40 LightMix/Coco the seedling will be placed in 10x10x10 cm³ (= 1 l) 60/40-Mix that were spared out when filling the pot with the soil mix. Started a small batch aact² (actively aerated compost tea) 2025-03-07 watered the pot with about 1 l aact², to give the soil a little head start before the seedling will be transferred tomorrow or the day after. 2025-03-08 tap root about 1.5cm, so I'll give her another day in the pads before transplanting. :) 2025-03-09 tap root didn't get that much longer, but since the shell's almost off, I guess, soil it is :) transplanted with about 1g of mycorrhizae granulate sprinkled around the seedling. ----- ¹ organic soil (BioBizz LightMix) 15 l Earthworm castings 0.82 kg Fish bone meal 0.099 kg Bone meal 0.027 kg Bat guano 0.049kg oyster shell 0.1 kg kelp meal 0.03 kg alfalfa meal 0.03 kg epsom salt 0.01 l dolomite lime 0.01 l azomite 0.02 l humic acid 0.005 l ² destilled water 3 l tap water 3 l molassis 12 g worm castings 0.5 l

Grow Questions

diy soil mix (see Week 0) got only pH'd tap water, compost tea and banana tea. started showing strong signs of nutrient burn recently and some spots on the oldest leaves I haven't seen before. so, how do I manage her to harvest? since I can't cut back on the nutes ...

To be honest, for me this is such a mild symptom I wouldn't care. Regarding the question, in my opinion: Since your soil is a strong living mix (compost + Terra Preta), the nutrient burn is coming from the natural breakdown, not liquid feeding. Don't flush hard – that would damage the microbiology. Instead, water only with plain pH 6.2–6.5 water, a little extra runoff (if you water with run off), and let the soil self-balance. No more compost teas or extras for now. Focus on healthy new growth, and the plant should ride it out fine until harvest.

Hey there your soil oh is acidic it’s down below 5.5 getting close to 5 Just run a few gallons of plain tap water thru the soil and you will be good Trust me it’s a simple fix you are barely showing signs of acid burns not nutrient burn Good luck

hey growmie, you’re still early in flower, so it’s good you caught this now. your soil mix is a little strong, the burnt tips and clawing show it. not a disaster, but if you don’t balance it, it could slow her down later. i'd let the pot dry out a bit more before each watering, then give just plain tap water for now, light watering only, no heavy runoff. no feeding unless she starts showing new yellowing. goal now: stabilize the roots, keep her happy through flowering. you're in a good spot to fix it, just keep it steady. good luck bro ✌️

@BobrMarley, Yes, just keep doing what you’re doing: light waterings at pH 6.4, avoid heavy runoff, and let the pot dry a little more between each watering. If it feels light when you lift it, that’s the perfect time to water again. Keeping it a bit drier for now will help stabilize the roots and prevent more leaf issues from showing up. No need to overcorrect just stay steady like you are now and she’ll finish strong! 🤞🍀♥️

@yan402, first of all, thanks for your answer to my grow question :) I gave her nothing but tap water (though I adjusted pH from nearly 8.0 to approx. 6.4 each watering) and tried to avoid runoff ... so I keep doing that, just giving the pot another day to dry up a bit more? thanks again :)

@Ninjabuds, thanks for your answer to my grow question :) how do I distinguish nutrient burn from acid burn? I never watered with runoff, and tried to keep the tap water at approx pH 6.4, how would that bring down the soils pH to about 5.5 as you suggested? wouldn't flushing the soil affect the microbes?
