No clue why the Grape Ape Auto from RQS isn't in the data bank here yet but... Aaanyways, I haven't even finished my first "normal" grow yet, but I saw these can at the supermarket and took it as a sign. It just has to be. Plus, they wont need anything extra because they can just run in the tent with the "normal" autos. And I have quite a bunch of seeds I want to taste, so let's make a baby grow with them! The second can is for her Do-Si-Dos Auto friend who will truck along too! Heres to the hope of keeping them alive for fun! ....I hope they stay alive.... PS: Uh-Oh, I hope they don't emerge from the cans and bite me o.O

Day 1 Monke: Alright, both have spawned. The Dosi is fine but I accidentally plucked one of the Cotyledons from my little monke.... I hope she survived! Day 3 Monke: Okay looks like she is tough! Seems I also got the tips of her first pair of leaves but nonetheless she is growing. I am so proud of the little gal, now already working on her second set of real leaves! she might make it guys! Day 6 my Monke girlie is really taking off, she is such a trooper! Soon my blunder will be forgotten - I hope ;) Question is - to train or not to train with this funsize grow.... Who are we kidding, I love training them lol.

Mar 22: Two days on a widowsill as there was good sunlight helped Dosi stretch a bit. Monke stretched a little back in the tent, now I don't have them tucked against the brim of the can anymore. Mar 24: Topped Dosi to allow for a tidier growth. Didn't have to remove too much leaf area so i hope she bounces back quickly. Mar 27: removed the big leaves on Dosi, just wanted to know what will happen.

Mar 30 All big leaves removed from Dosi. She is vital and I want her to stay small. Mar 31 Topped Monke to promote growth of her side arms. Dosi doing really well after her haircut, really leans into growing her 4 arms now. Apr 2 Monke now finally also starts to grow her arms, yay! Apr 3 removed big leaves on Monke too. These plants are experiments to play with, not for maximum yield (doh! They are stuck in a pringles can). I wanna see if I can basically make her a miniature weed. She is REALLY cute like this lol! Dosi is in preflowering, adjusted the LST to reveal more shoots to the light.

Trucking along, the two fun projects :) I think it will be hard to feed and water them as they get a little bigger. They are a bit pale already... Hm. Apr 9: The cans are dissolving. A lot of water was just running off so I did the not-so-smart dumdum to let them stand in water a bit. They do look greener today, but the can doesn't really like it... Plus they are still paler than I like and show early signs of deficiency, especially Dosi. I have new cans and will repot tonight or tomorrow. Putting big stones in the bottom also wasnt the smartest idea, they DO stand well but it gives even less space for soil. I also have an idea I will try. I will set up the inside of the can with plant wick going into coco/castings/perlite mix from my newer grow. I will pull the wick up to the top so it sucks water up all along the can. Then I will thread the wick out through holes in the bottom of the cans and dip those into water so the papery outside of the can doesn't get wet. Will see. No one said that this grow would not be a bit of a challenge XD Basically poor mans hydroculture. Just sad that the Pimp my Grow contest only was fpr the US :P Apr 10: Done, see pics! Curious how this turns out, lol! This little side grow is so much fun!

Week begins Apr 11 they REALLY didnt like the repotting. Probably cut too much of the root ball while doing it, so they could not pick up enough nutes. Was pretty interesting to see this effect myself, and how fast it goes. I am more fascinated than shocked, this is what experiments are for I would say ;) Monke took it a little better but she is also smaller and 5 days younger and I had stunted her more serverely earlier. Apr 15 They seem to be bouncing back - much less sad leaf drooping. Dosi drank half her reservoir from watering yesterday, that is much faster than after the repotting. I removed some of her really bad leaves to encourage her to grow her healthy parts. Monke drank about a third of her reservoir. Most important for those that want to START with the makeshift hydro: so far the soil keeps being moist to the very top. Maybe I will do another grow in a pringles can, that time trying to max out the yield with my wicking solution. Please keep in mind though: from the small reservoir to the top of a pringles can is about the max the wick can transport up (due to physics I have learned - about 30 cm)

Week begins Apr 19 Apr 20: They seem to bounce back from the root cutting. Their green starts to look more, well, green again. Stacking on some mini buds, it is really cute! Feeding them as usual, and they drink. Little, as you would expect from such miniatures ;)
