🌱 Bullz Eye – Day 0 (Soil Prep & Germination Start)
Kicking off the Bullz Eye run today with some prep work and germination. I started by mixing up a 20-gallon batch of soil using a 50/50 blend of Gold Standard and an unamended off-brand base, following the BuildASoil method. To that, I added 1 and 2/3 cups of Craft Blend, 3/4 cup of Kashi, and 3/4 cup of Gnarly Barley. Once everything was thoroughly mixed, I slowly worked in about 2 gallons of well water — enhanced with 1/4 tsp per gallon of Aloe, Q (Quillaja), and Rootwise — to bring it up to field capacity and activate the soil life.
After mixing, I topped the soil with a layer of Build-A-Bloom to kickstart phosphorus and potassium availability for later stages, then mulched the surface with dried leaves to help retain moisture and support microbial activity. The 20-gallon fabric pot is prepped and partially wrapped with plastic around the edges to prevent premature drying. Meanwhile, the Bullz Eye seed is currently soaking to start the germination process. No planting yet — just letting the soil rest and the biology get moving while the seed prepares to crack. Feeling good about this one.
