Day 71 - Watered today (first time down to 3 days, had been 4 days between waterings). I almost didn't water today, but then I remembered that it was REALLY warm in the tent yesterday, and the top of the 'soil' almost appeared 'baked', so I thought it was best to water. One gallon, which usually gives me runoff, wasn't enough to give me any, so I ended up giving almost 1.5 gallons of water/feed (2tsp Bloom, 1 tsp Mag Pro 1/2 tsp Foliage Pro per gallon, as indicated by the Dyna feed chart). It did seem that most all of the extra half gallon ran off, but hopefully that will help push any salts buildup that could possibly be occurring out. Nothing to note for day 72/73. I do wonder, when looking at the plant, if I will have to do much defoliation as the flowering cycle continues. There are lots of flowering sites. Day 74 - Even though the lights just came on, the leaves seem to be relatively attentive, and with the temps in check, I am going to hold off until the 4th day again to feed, tomorrow. I also can't quite tell if it is because of the cooler temp or not, but when I try to dig my finger into the substrate, it is either still cool or damp, or both, so I want to wait until tomorrow, I don't want to be overwatering at this stage. Day 75 - Fed the plant today, doing something new, where I fed about an hour before lights came on. Fed 2 tsp of Bloom, 1/2 tsp of Foliage Pro and I goofed and put 1/2 instead of 1 tsp of Mag Pro (it just went up this week and I forgot). She is showing a bit of post water droop for the photo. There wasn't much runoff from about a gallon and 20 ounces, so I am thinking she is drinking enough that I can possibly start watering safely every 3 days. Day 76 - I feel like this is going to be a long time flowering. At least during veg there is training to do, now it feels like it is feed, watch, wait, and repeat. Day 77 - Just another day. Love opening the tent each 'morning' for these photos. Added a flower photo today to show some of the trichrome development. That ends another week!!

Grow Questions

buddha61started grow question 6 years ago
If anyone actually looks at the temp/humidity monitor in my photos, you will see it goes from 40%s during lights on, to mid 50%s during lights off. Do I need to invest in a dehumidifier sooner rather than later, or will mid 50s during lights off not pose huge mold risks in flower

Hey Buddha61! Looking great👍 The humidity is not to bad at all. As long as you dont get above 55% you should be fine you have a nice trained plant so as long as it is getting enough airflow you should be fine. Airflow is important because you can get "spots" that are more humid than others if it's lets say an area of the ten the fan does not get to or something blocks the wind from the fan. and it also helps if there is any spores trying to land on the plants if will blow them away! haha But as long as it stays below 55%RH you should be fine now if you do notice it creeping up higher than that then i would definitely look into a dehumidifier. Plus there are some other benefits of a dehumidifier. You are able to mimic the natural environment outside and lower the RH as flower starts. and it helps bring out more flavor trichome/resin production with the more "dry" conditions later in flower👌. If you do invest in one what i do is start at 50-55%RH for the first 2 weeks of flower then drop it to 40-45% for the 3rd an 4th week. and after the 4th Drop it to 30-35% and have been getting fantastic results since starting to do it Hope this helps! Happy Growing😎

Outstanding dude, love the training of the plant!

buddha61commented6 years ago
@DrGreenThumb95, Thanks. Looking back, there are 3 areas which I wish I had done better. I wish I had did a better job pruning/defoliating under the screen, I wish I had filled the screen out more, and now knowing that it didn't stretch much, I wish I had let it grow through the net a week or so before flipping. It was still a good result, but I feel it could have been better (don't we all).

@Puffer_Bill, Most definitely. Going to be a lot of trimming, but I am going to do it all dry. I feel it will make the number of flowers I have to trim easier to do.

@TheBudWhisperer, I did upload one bad trich shot from my DIY lens. Hopefully the loupe gives a better look tonight after the lights come on.

TheBudWhisperercommented6 years ago
@buddha61, meh - don’t think it’ll make a huge difference one way or the other. Even if ur still 2-3 weeks out you’re so close to the finish that I wouldn’t worry about it causing a serious problem. The loupe will tell you a lot more so good that’s it showing up soon👍
buddha61
buddha61commented6 years ago
@TheBudWhisperer, Told ya it feels like a few more weeks yet :) I do have a loupe on the way from Amazon (here tomorrow), so hopefully I will be able to get semi clear trich shots. Yea, the nute burn was noticed a couple weeks ago, and I cut back on the bloom a bit. The Mag Pro doesn't have calcium, but the bloom formula has 2% calcium, apparently. Wonder if I should go back to close to full strength on the bloom and cut the Mag Pro back. Now that you mention it, it does seem that the discoloration has started since I lowered the strength of the bloom.

buddha61
buddha61commented6 years ago
@SommerVirelli, Thanks. I attribute a lot of it to reading/gaining information from the internet. It doesn't hurt that as a kid my family usually had gardens (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, etc) and I would help grow that each year. I of course had some veg growing pains, but have got her looking much better in flower.

Filled corners or not that’s an excellent scrog dude. Canopies so nice and even too. Think you’ll be impressed with the yield dude👊. Very nice👌
buddha61
buddha61commented6 years ago
@TheBudWhisperer,Agree. Next grow I think I am going to go with manifolding. I got a few more weeks to see how I like the yield :)
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperercommented6 years ago
@buddha61, hear that - biggest knock with scrog is that the veg. Time takes what it takes to fill up the net. That said - totally worth it!👍😎
buddha61
buddha61commented6 years ago
@TheBudWhisperer,Thanks. I realized after I decided that I was going to scrog that it was going to take too long for one plant to fill the entire screen, so I just tried for even and as big as I could in the time I vegged.
JohnnyBlaz3
JohnnyBlaz3commentedweek 106 years ago
looks awesome!
buddha61
buddha61commented6 years ago
@JohnnyBlaz3, the inside/usable area is 27"x30". I obviously didn't fill it completely out, but it was a last second thing to do (and would have taken many more weeks), as I wasn't sure what method I was going to employ, just LST and trying to bush her or trying to scrog. In the end, I wasn't sure if I would want to go back and try a scrog again, so I went ahead and used it. When I look at the canopy shot posted D64, or even when opening the tent, there is some small joy received when seeing a relatively flat canopy level. I am already considering mainlining/manifolding next round.

@buddha61, on my first grow so nothing to compare to but that's about where I noticed some sugar as well. Very exiting time indeed! I'm only a few days ahead of you. what size is your net?
buddha61
buddha61commented6 years ago
@JohnnyBlaz3, Thanks. She is really starting to come along now. Lots of beginning flower growth started, and I believe I found a leaf that actually has some trichrome development starting, which I would think 13 days of 12/12 would be a bit early to start, but I won't complain.

hi dude !! It is not forbidden to Harvest first the most mature flowers and after the other wich was underexposed 😌 that's why i grew aloe vera because his juice allows to the plant cuts to quickly heal after this operation in order to reduce stress 👊 but if i have an advice is to buy a chinese cheap scope...mine works very weel for a cheap price and this has changed my life as a grower 🙏
Freddd
Fredddcommented6 years ago
@buddha61, I had to part harvest my Think Big Auto at 11 weeks, 5 zips of the biggest colas. But then I got another 13 zips at 16 weeks. Surprisingly the quality of the smoke was no different, the 16 week buds were just more filled out.
buddha61
buddha61commented6 years ago
@Budofpray, If I do go with a scope, it will definitely have to be next grow, as I'm not going to worry too much about it right now, as I can kinda see when looking, just won't be able to add many good trich photos to the journal. I realize a partial/staggered harvest can be done on a plant, but I am pretty sure that my tent is going to function as a drying chamber, so it will be one chop this time.
Crwfz1
Crwfz1commentedweek 205 years ago
Beautiful how big is your screen may I ask
buddha61
buddha61commented5 years ago
@Crwfz1, It was 27" x 30" on the inside. I had some scrap 30" wood, and that became the frame for the scrog. Thinking about doing it again, but at almost the full size of my tent, about 35" from pole to pole, though it is dubbed a 3x3 tent, so should be 36x36.
