This is my 2nd attempt at growing Kosher Sorbet. I scrapped my first grow about 2 weeks in because I didn't have my environment dialed in and I burnt one pretty and it was stunted. The other one wound up getting some rot in the main stem from the way it was laying on the net cup. I probably could have finished my grow with them and nursed them back to health, but I used it as an opportunity to rearrange my setup and fix the environmental issues. I started germinating her on 28 Feb. I considered the 1st 6 days as germination and I started Day 1 Veg the day after I saw the first set of true leaves. I didn't use any nutrients until Day 2 of Veg.
I am using a Mars Hydro 300W (120 True watts) to veg. I plan to keep her in a 2 gallon res for about 3 weeks and then I will move her to a larger cooler. I plan to veg around 30-40 days depending on the growth and room in my flower tent. I will top and do some defoliation ~week 3. In my 4 x 4 flower tent I have 2 260 Watt Quantum Boards
Nice week for growth. I made the mistake of not wiping off the fan leaf completely and I got some nute mix on it.. that is the spotting. I did a res change and increased the nutrients to 475 PPM.
I plan to top in the next couple days. 🍀🍀
On day 1 of veg this week i topped her, but true to its name.. It looks like I FIM'd it😁. I've never done this grow technique, so im pretty excited to see the results.
I plan to veg for another 7-14 days depending on growth and room in my flower tent.
I will work on stem strength over the next 2 weeks.. They aren't thin and I have an oscillating fan on them, but I want them to be thicker. I will do some extra training by bending/squeezing them and do some LST if necessary.
I moved her into the flower room on Day 3 of Week 5, so instead of doing a separate week for 3 days, I added it here.
I tried a new technique. On Day 3 of Week 5 I removed all of the bottom nodes on each cola. I did this to try and promote larger growth to the top buds and to try and keep the middle clear because of the FIM.
I kept Veg nutrients and will keep them for 3-5 days.
Overall a pretty easy 10 days, just managing the nutrient levels, res change/switch. and defoliation. Hopefully she loves her new environment and the defoliation doesn't stunt her.
I kept Veg nutrients for the first 3 days of flower, then did a res change to the bloom nutes. I haven't tied it down yet as it is growing out pretty well with the daily rearranging of colas. The FIM really shot up over the last few days, but overall the plant didn't really gain any height. The PPMs in the res stayed at 490-500 throughout the week, stable PH, and on F7 I added a gallon of water with a 10ml/gal + micros to increase the PPMs a bit (520 now).
She is growing nicely and has a fairly even canopy. Over the week I added 2 gallons of water with a nutrient mix to bring the nutrients up from 500 --> 575. I haven't added the bloom booster yet and don't plan to until I see the buds forming a bit more.
I didn't do any tying down or defoliation during flower and don't plan to unless needed. I will only remove fan leaves that are covering bud sites or look extremely unhealthy.
I dropped my PH pen in the water today 🙀😂, so the res change will have to wait 2 days until I get another one in. I have a backup kit to test the PH using a dropper, but I hate trying to match the color of the water to the chart.
This plant is doing very well and staying healthy. I introduced a bloom booster on day 1 of this week. I noticed in some of my other grows I would get yellowing on the fan leaves at the bud sites during bud development (Week 3-4 flower), so I was hoping a light dosage of bloom booster would prevent that.. and it seems to have worked. I plan to work the hydroplex up to 2ml/gal next week, but try and keep the PPMs 600 or under. I removed a couple fan leaves here and there, but nothing major and I am going to remove only the fan leaves covering bud sites and not everyday.
I did a res change Day 4 (F25) and tried to continue to spread out the canopy throughout the week. I did a defoliation on Day5 (F26) where I removed 10-15 fan leaves and several extremely tiny bud sites to try and reduce the amount of popcorn buds and promote more growth to the tops. I don't plan to remove any more fan leaves unless they are dead/damaged. The PH has been pretty stable and I don't think I am going to increase the nutrient levels much more for the rest of the grow.
The plan for this week was to keep her healthy and start to decrease the feed as needed. My other grows I never quite bring down the nutrients fast enough and cause some nutrient burn, so I hope I reduced the nutrients fast/early enough this time. I am going to do a reservoir change in the next 2-3 days. That feed will have reduced nutrients (~450 PPMs) and no PK boost.
This plant continues to grow very nicely. I am going to lollipop my plants a little more aggressively than this plant in my future grows (OG kush next week im looking at you 😎!) because I am happy with the bud size on this plant so far. Hopefully I can hit that happy medium of yield and bud size.
Harvested F63, hanging in cabinet to dry now. I will add more picks of the dry/cure in 2-3 weeks. 👍👍
I did a reservoir change last week and this week I didn't add any nutrients. I removed some nutrient water from the reservoir and replaced it with spring water and continued to add plain water for the last 8/9 days. I don't think my pre-harvest flush/feed schedule was great. I wanted to keep some nutrients in the water because the plant needs nutrients to perform a lot of its basic functions, but also to prevent a nutrient lockout. In hindsight, I should have done a reservoir change 2 days ago to get all the excess salts and built up nutrient again. I guess when I 🚬 it up we will find out if it mattered!
Thanks for stopping by, can't wait to smoke this girl. She smells really beautiful! 🙌
I cut her down the morning of F63 (right before lights on). I removed about 50% of the fan leaves and hung dry each branch in a dark cabinet for 7-8 days. I kept the temperatures at 65-70 degrees and 50-60% humidity. It took 2 days to trim because I was tired and couldn't finish the first night 💤. There are a lot of nice sized buds that are extremely frosty. She smells beautiful too!
Veg Time w/ germination: 37 days total
Flower: 63 days (I could easily have gone another 3-5 days) 5-10% Amber Trichomes
Yield: 173 Grams (Just over 6 ounces) of bud and 50-60 Grams of frosty trim
When I wanted to start growing again these are 1 of the first seeds I wanted to grow and I killed the first 2! 😆 Now, 5 months later I have these beautiful buds. Definitely worth the wait!!
Thanks for stopping by! 👊
