I have a variegated plant, but I won't be home for 10 days and I'm really considering letting them trim a few heavily variegated leaves to help with photosynthesis. I'm only on week 3, but she's an auto flower.
I would recommend to wait. Too early or too much could stress her during stretch.
The variegated leaves don't help much with photosynthesis, but they still provide some support. Anyway there is not much to trim, right?
Better to do a light cleanup yourself once you're back.😅
Hey growmie, doesn’t really look like heat or light stress.
Probably just rootzone stress or slight lockout from the soil drying out too much at some point. Happens a lot in veg.
Keep pH in range 6.2-6.5, don’t let her dry out too hard, maybe a light calmag dose if your water is soft.
🤞🍀❤️
@CannabisCorpse, Hey growmie, for bottled or tap water around pH 7 you can just use citric acid food grade, super cheap, like 3-4€ per kilo online.
Mix 1-2 teaspoons in a liter of water and you have pH down solution ready to go, good for 2 to 4 times depending on how you use it.
Or you can get pH down from grow brands, but it's the same thing or worse just more expensive and depending on main ingredient bad for the microbes in your soil.
Hope that helps, keep it simple & steady and your girl will do fine.
Good luck!
@yan402, Thank you so much. This is incredibly helpful. Do you happen to know anywhere/anything that might help if I'm using bottled water? I'm worried the water's pH is around 7, but I don't know much products to change the pH.
