love_2_grow One of my photos hermed, and after shuffling around the plants, I had an empty tent. That seems wasteful, so I figured I'd do a quick auto run before the summer break.
I’m going with Mephisto Genetics - R2-ABQ for this grow—a cultivar I bought a while ago, simply because of its weird name.
It's a cross between Strawbba the Hutt and Walter White Bx1. It is supposed to be a small—to medium—sized plant that finishes in 70-75 days.
I'm looking forward to the surprise as to what it'll turn out to be :D
Bio Tabs is sponsoring me with their full range of products.
I started, as I usually do, by soaking the seed overnight in a glass of water.
The next day, the seed was planted in a Root Riot plug.
Forty-eight hours later, we had germination.
love_2_grow This will be another Bio Tabs grow, but I’m using an AutoPot with an airbase and an airdrome this round.
Like last time, when I used the Bio Tabs system, I’m choosing the “water-only” strategy.
I started by mixing the substrate: 50% organic light soil and 50% perlite. I put a bit of this base mix to the side and added 75 grams of Startrex and 75 grams of Silicium Flash. This mixture went into the pot, with a smaller pot in the center with just the base mix. This is to avoid a substrate that is too hot for the seedlings.
After the pot was ready, I transplanted the seeding into the pot, using a bit of Mycotrex to dust the roots.
As a final touch, I watered in some Bactrex and Orgatrex, and added a humidity dome to help maintain the humidity.
That was all I did this week. There’s not much else to do now in the beginning.
love_2_grow The second week passed without much fuss.
I watered her once and installed a humidifier to bump up the humidity. I will hand water her for another week or two before turning on the AutoPot system
That was it.
love_2_grow There's not much to report this week, as I ignored the plant most of the week due to travel and having guests.
I haven't turned on the AutoPot yet, but I will next week.
love_2_grow The fourth week of veg has passed, and she is doing great. She is lush, vibrant, and as happy as she can be.
I turned on the AutoPot so now she is just cruising along.
I'm not training her like I usually do, so there will be no LST or topping. Instead, I am doing leaf-tucking only.
I watched some Autopotamus videos, and he turns out HUGE autos, using only leaf-tucking.
I'm not expecting a giant plant, as the tent and light are small, but I'm curious to see how it will work out.
love_2_grow This was the final week of veg, as she has started to flower.
Even though it is early in flower, I still had to install the carbon filter as she started stinking up the apartment. I am excited to see how her terp profile will develop.
I keep leaf tucking several times per day, and it does help to manage the canopy, but the main stem still has an evident apical dominance.
Besides the tucking, I'm not doing much as I'm using an AutoPot, although I manually watered her once with Bactrex and Orgatrex.
love_2_grow We are now in flower, and to celebrate the fact, I shaved her bush. I just cleaned up the lower canopy a bit to promote better airflow.
I start to see leaves with necrosis, but I have no idea why. It looks almost like senescence, but we are way too early for that.
Other than that, there's not much to report, as the grow is pretty much running by itself.
love_2_grow I'm not sure what is going on with her as the leaf necrosis is progressing. Honestly, it looks like a regular senescence, but it's early for that, as we're only at the end of the second week of flower. I have had plants in the past that started senescing early, so...
I have added another Bio Tab to the soil, as well as hand-watered Orgatrex and Bactrex. Let's see if that will help.
She got a couple of neighbors in the tent as I moved in the seedlings from my no-budget grow. I'll leave them here for a week or two before transplanting them into their final pots.
I really want to know why plants grow so tall with auto pots. I'm quite sure I gave all my plants not enough water, so there's much I need to learn in that regard
@kohlrabi, This is only my second grow with AutoPots, but I didn't see any excessive stretch in the first grow. Watering sucks. That's why I always automate it in one way or another :D
Absolutely incredible work! The structure of your plant is textbook perfect — great node spacing, lush green leaves, and an overall super healthy look. It’s clear you’ve put a lot of care and attention into this grow, and it really shows. Watching progress like this is inspiring for the whole community 🌿✨ If anyone feels like checking out another grow, you're welcome to swing by my profile too 🔍."
