Little plant is growing just fine, I still need to wait a couple of weeks to move her to a more confortable spot in the growbox but I need to harvest one of the GSCs first. Overall, no problems at this point.
First off, when Sweet Seeds says XL they mean it, from the moment it started flowering it has stretched considerably even with the topping and LST that I did. Since my grow area is small and my lights are not as strong I also defoliated taking out fan leaves that were blocking light and cutting branches that needed to stretch too much. The plant didn't seem to bother at all, didn't even droop or anything.
It's the first time I grow this strain so I have been giving slightly less of the recommended dose of nutrients to see how she takes them.
Happy overall at how healthy and how fast it is growing :)
The plant seems to be slowing the stretch, not quite stopped but not explosive as before. I expected her to grow a couple more centimeters before it starts swelling. It has been a delight and is getting kind of bushy so I will defoliate soon. Has been growing so well, so complains of any sort.
So this week I noticed a nutrient burn and I immediately switched to only water with a few things. I was used to the GSC for Fast Buds that takes in a lot of nutrients and this one seems to be less needy. Other than that is has been growing nice, the trichome factory has started and I have noticed a little bit of odor, really nice and citric.
The nutrient burn continued so I kept watering with no Bloom nutes. Now I am noticing a nitrogen deficiency as some of the lower leaves are turning yellow. I will also buy CalMag for the next watering in case it is needed, I have heard that autoflowering plants need a bit more Cal-Mag specially when using LEDS.
On a positive note the smell has been stronger and it is so sweet and fruity, can't wait!
The plant started having issues that I couldn't quite nail down. I believe it might be stunted. I will give it two more weeks to see how it goes before setting a harvest time.
Still having a lot of issues, I know it's normal for some of the fan leaves to become yellow and fall off but still it has been too fast to be normal. Also, the plant seems to have stopped swelling. Will try to do everything I can so I can make the most out of the situation until harvest time comes. If you guys have any tips or advice let me know!
So I have struggled with this plant because of deficiencies and issue I caused. It has been hard to grow in my micro space but I knew it was going to be hard before I bought the seeds. I does have an amazing citrus-sweet smell.
The other younger plant is another Cream Mandarine XL that I was experimenting with and didn't do a journal on. As you can see it grew a lot more than I should've let her, but that's the way to learn I guess. Until next week.
I had a rough time maintaining the journal since I had so much university pressure with finals and stuff so I think it could've been better. The plant was fairly easy to grow and it yielded more than I expected so cheers on that. Happy smokes!
