ETHANol I started a diary last week with two “Girl scout cookie extreme” seeds but I broke the root on one and the other sprouted very deformed leaves. I terminated that attempt and giving new seeds a try.
I found those two new seeds in my medical weed a while back, so I have no idea how this will go or what exactly their requirements. The strain is called Supreme Diesel and is supposed to produce around 28% THC.
I used the paper towel method to spout them, but after transferring them to one of those germination pucks, only one emerged. I’ll give the other one a bit more time, but I have my doubts.
After a week I transplanted the one plant to a 20L container.
For the fertilizer, I am trying a set from ShoGun.

ETHANol The plant is growing well with the lights set to 50% (dimmed). The first set of true leaves just came in the last few days.
The first few days I only watered right around the plant to avoid wasting nutrients. On the last day I started to water the entire pot, assuming the roots have reached that far already.
Since the first set of true leaves have emerged I will also switch to the nutrients for vegetative growth.

ETHANol The plant is growing well, but I’ve noticed signs of overwatering. I’m guessing that I may have forgotten to let the soil dry before watering. Let’s see how well it’ll recover (or not).
I also topped the plant, which for sure isn’t helping the stress of overwatering (if that’s even the issue).

ETHANol The plant recovered from the overwatering and I think the pH was too high as well.
During LST, I accidentally partially broke the two middle branches. Since the pot seems too crowded for my liking, I decided to just remove them completely. Now there is more space for more growth.

ETHANol Just removed some leaves here and there, as well as removing some branch formations I didn’t want.
Everything seems to be going well. I watered every time the leaves started to droop. They were back to normal within 1-2h. But this last watering cycle they still look to be struggling. I’m gonna have to see if they just need more time.

ETHANol I was going to just let the plant relax for this last week of the vegetative phase, but got bored and felt like I could fill out a bit more of my tent. So I tried HST (if that’s even what it is) and tried to make the lower branches even with tops. Now I have a nice even canopy that will hopefully grow nicely in flowering.

ETHANol The plant is growing fairly nicely. I just noticed some discolouration on the lower leaves, which I think indicate a magnesium deficiency. I really suck at diagnosing deficiencies, so I’m just going to give this a try. I bough some epsom salt and added it to the watering. Online it said 1tsp/L so that’s what I did.
I’m also finally 100% certain it’s a female plant. I was kinda getting worried…

ETHANol To me it send like the Magnesium deficiency might have been a right assessment last week. The plant looks better and no new leaf has shown any discolouration. I’m not sure if I should decrease the amount of Epson salt I’m adding to the watering, or if the plant will keep needing more as she grows. For now I will just keep providing it until I notice a negative change.
The flowers are also coming in nicely by now. I have removed bud formations that were lower on the branches and keep removing a few leaves to provide enough light to all the peaks.

ETHANol The nutrient deficency is definitely resolved for now! The flowers are now developing nicely and I tried to spread everything out a bit with a net to use more of the tent space I have. That way some of the buds that are forming lower on the branch can also get adequate light.
