Runtz, Lava Cake, Sleepy Joe (feminisiert)

Oktoberfest After two weeks in the small pots, the plants were transplanted into the Autopot pots in the tent. A bit of droopy leaves and slight discoloration are normal due to stress. That changes very quickly. At this point, the plants were watered by hand once. The moisture in the Seramis lasts a long time. The Autopot watering was started after a week. The ventilation is off at first, and the temperature is kept stable by infrared heating (day 26°C, night 24°C). What's amazing is that the Runtz shows no weakness after transplanting and is going full throttle right away. The Sleepy Joe (middle) is drooping its leaves, while the Lava Cake is doing okay.

Oktoberfest After about a week in the tent, or three weeks after germination, the flowering phase was initiated with 12 hours of light. Four weeks after germination, you can see how fast the Runtz (on the left in the picture) is growing! 💪 In the middle is the Sleepy Joe, and on the right is the Lava Cake. All three are now healthy and strong. They don't have a big thirst yet. Almost nothing has been consumed from the 20l in the tank. The ventilation is running on the lowest setting, and a Sanlight is being used. The first pictures in the report are from a camera in the tent. The following photos will be of better quality. 👍

Oktoberfest Shortly after the last photos, the second Sanlight and the fan were turned on. The pots have changed positions in the tent, so they'll stay like this until the end (L-shape). The size of the Runtz makes lighting with the long Sanlight difficult. I might switch to a shorter 150W China module for the Runtz. Two fungus gnats have wandered into the tent; I hope there aren't any more. 😈 Seramis can get really nasty infestations from them. I filled the tank with 10l of water + Aqua Vega; the thirst is still moderate (about 5l consumed). The ventilation is running on the lowest setting. The infrared heater, which is being used for the first time, makes a big difference. Without the heater, the temperature would drop to about 17°C at night. 😱 The plants are growing much faster and healthier. 👍

Since turning on the fan, the three have consumed about 20 liters of water. 😅 They are growing so incredibly fast that they almost touched the LED in three days. This caused slight burns on the tips of the Lava Cake. The Runtz shouldn't get much taller, or I'll have to tie the top down. The tent is only 180 cm high. The fan of the filter is now running faster at 50% power. The humidity was at 75% today and had to be vented out of the tent. However, this also leads to heat being sucked out. It's time for it to get consistently warmer outside. May 3, 2025 I slowed down the ventilation one step again via the transformer. But even before, the temperature at night was 22°C, so everything is in the green zone. Light: One of the two Sanlight S4W is exclusively shining sideways on the Runtz. Normally, I wouldn't do it this way, but the Runtz is growing very airy and has a large distance between the leaves. It looks healthy and is growing evenly. The back of the plant shows no light deficiency due to asymmetric growth. Top lighting would currently be worse. I have to say, the Runtz keeps surprising me, and I like its tall but very airy growth! The Sleepy Joe and Lava Cake are comparably tall and share the second Sanlight S4W. They are doing well too, but I prefer slightly larger growing plants. Water consumption: So far, 30 liters. Today I filled the small tank with 20 liters of water including 64 ml of Canna Aqua Flores. 34 ml per 10 liters for hard water according to Canna's calculator. In the last grow, I used pH-down, but according to Canna, that's not necessary and it's working perfectly right now! Canna: "It contains pH stabilizers that make adjusting the pH unnecessary." And they are not overly dark green due to too much nitrogen. 😱

Oktoberfest May 5, 2025 - Uploaded a video of the tent. - The Runtz can now stop stretching and start forming thicker branches. 😝 - The smaller light is now hanging over the Sleepy Joe and the Lava Cake, while the two Sanlight S4W are lighting up the Runtz from the side and indirectly the other two plants. This way, the Runtz could grow all the way to the ceiling. 👍 May 7, 2025 The tip of the Runtz has reached 130 cm, and I've tied it down with a cord. I didn't want to cap it during flowering. Now, of course, the side shoots will shoot up as well. Will the Runtz do well with those spindly shoots? 😂 May 11, 2025 - I reduced the light duration from 12 to 10 hours three days ago. It will stay that way until the length growth of the Runtz has practically stopped. - The filter fan is now running at level 4 out of 5 of the transformer. The fan itself has two levels, and it always runs on the slower and completely sufficient level 1. The humidity in the tent is around 50%. 👍 - Water consumption: so far 30 liters of Aqua Vega (20 liters would have been enough), 45 liters of Aqua Flores, of which 25 liters have just been refilled. - pH correction: Due to white deposits (lime?) on the tank wall, I have switched back to the tried-and-true pH correction using pH-Down. The water here is very hard. I'm skeptical whether the fertilizer can buffer that without pH-Down. It's only 3 ml per 10 liters of water, so no extra effort. 👍 - For this grow, I wanted to primarily use the more reddish glowing Sanlight S4W instead of the usual China panels with white light. No idea if the Runtz is genetically predisposed to shoot up like this (the other two aren't) or if it particularly reacts to the red part of the light. 👹 What experiences do you have with the Runtz or the Sanlight S4W? 😊 What do you think, will the Runtz with the currently thin shoots be a hit or a miss? Oktoberfest May 17, 2025 - Video from the tent dated 05/12/25. - Light set back to 12/12. This pheno of Runtz is still pushing the tent (180 cm high) to its limits. The side branches have also reached the height of the lights. The plant is topping everything, hopefully also in yield. - Added another 20 liters of water, totaling 65 liters of Aqua Flores.
