150W: 2x CBD Auto Charlotte's Angel & 1x CBD Auto 20:1 - 2x2
CBDFarmer On the 22nd of April I started germinating 3 seeds of CBD Auto Charlotte's Angel. On the 26th I added 3 seeds of CBD Auto 20:1, with the intention of selecting two CA and one 20:1, based on the speed of growth and best look overall.
After a number of grows I noticed that the genetic of the plant plays a major role in the final results. So, considering that after all Darwinism must be applicable to plants as well, I decided to run this selection process.
CAs took 7 full days to show 1-2 cm taproots, while 20:1s took just 48 hours, and the one I selected from the latter strain was a plant that during that time outperformed all other seeds from both batches with 3 cm of taproot, a real beast, as I had never seen anything like it.
The pictures show that 20:1 on her own. While the remaining are CAs that have all emerged. I already unrooted one 20:1 which had not emerged yet. So, I am in the process to select the two CAs that will make it to week 2.
I am sorry for the cruelty to an extent, but at the same time, I really need to maximise the harvest, my time and resources spent, as the set-up is really small.
Today 30th of April is Day 1 for all.

CBDFarmer Week 1 ended and plants are doing well, with no issues recorded. The second Charlotte just smaller than the rest, as it was the last born.
Environmental conditions quite stable with light at 25% and 35cm from the plants, to avoid light stress. I ll dial it up to 50% mid-week 2.
As feeding schedule, I m pushing on root enhancers with 3 waterings during the last 7 days. The middle one with plain water and microbes, that I add once a week. The remaining 2 with the nutrients I recorded for the week.
Looking good and moving to week 2.

CBDFarmer 14 days from seed tomorrow.
Week 2 went on with no issues. Plants are doing well in my opinion. The difference between the CBD 20:1 and the other two is due to the strong genetic of the former. So I consider her an exception and the other two just growing normally. The smallest was born late, so I am not concerned.
I started LST on the beast, just to keep it down a little, and soon I will do the same with the second by size.
Feeding them every 2 days with 1 liter each, with nutrients twice a week and plain water plus microbes in the mid-watering session. When feeding nuts I added 1ml/l bio-grow and 0.5 ml/l Bio-Bloom for the beast only. It’s early for PK however I’m trying to avoid a PK deficiency that I often recorded around week 3-4 with the Biobizz line. Rootbastic and some early low dose of Bio-Bloom should avoid that.
It’s getting hot over here, so I turned on the 30w fixed fan on the lamp to keep the tent below 28 as much as possible. Unfortunately, the lamp is at its 6th cycle and has started overheating, although it is set at 50% only. I moved from 25% to 50% since the 9th day of growth with no issues recorded.
See you in a week.

CBDFarmer End of week 3 and everything is just fine.
The beast (Fast Bud Auto Cbd 20:1) is outgrowing the other 2, but it is not a surprise for the reasons I explained in the past weeks.
The 2 Dutch Passion Auto Cbd Charlotte’s Angel are catching up and going well. Even the smallest is now growing at a faster pace.
I dialed up the 150w lamp to 75% at day 22, at a distance of 30-35 cm. I will monitor to see whether there is some issue coming up.
I spotted few yellow stains on the leaves and increased CalMag, as it seems a CMag deficiency. For that reason this week I will feed at PH 6.5, trying to in increase CMag uptake. The two Dutch are fed with the schedule of the week with a ppm of 440. While for the FastBud the only adjustment is Biogrow at 1.5ml/L, bringing total ppm to 550. The rest is the same. Every other watering, it s just plain water plus 0.4 g/L of microbes.
Finally, at the beginning of week 4 I am going a bit heavier with LST, trying to spread the plants evenly and adjust to create 3-4 main colas. I have also pruned couple of low branches in each plant to increase light penetration down the canopy.
So far so good.

CBDFarmer Day 32, and the plants are going strong, but the most impressive is the small Charlotte Angel(in the left corner at the top) that has really caught up with the others. It started behind, but now it looks even better than the others, with short internodes and great foliage. On the contrary the Fast Bud has lost ground, and has been looking weaker than usual, surely not the “beast” it once was. I think that she does not like the high temperature, while the other Sativa dominant Charlottes are able to thrive. I am not sure yet, so I keep an eye on the Fast Bud for signs of distress and let’s see.
Although I had turned up the 150w lamp to 75% on day 22, I had to dial it back to 50% due to the plants showing distress. So I waited, increased to 75% on day 28 and increased lamp distance from 30 to 40cm. Now the plants are around 35cm from the light and seem doing all right.
In terms of watering I still do nuts twice a week and just plain water plus microbes every other watering. The schedule is on average the one shown for this week, with small adjustments based on the stage of flowering. Clearly the small Charlotte is in late veg, the Fast bud is in early transition and finally the other Charlotte is in the late transition stage.
Most notably, the Fast Bud and Charlotte in advanced transitioning have been showing the usual flower stretching, with the latter really going above and beyond. I kept them in check with LST, keeping the height of all three even. I think I m done with the training for this cycle and will let them grow from now on in height, just raising the light.
Overall, the grow is going all right, unfortunately the light is on its last leg as it is at its 6th cycle and has become sub-optimal. From next cycle I will upgrade it to something higher in voltage, possible the Spiderfarmer TE3000 300w. As I would like to see what comes up under a much stronger light.
Feel free to drop comments and recommendations! Cheers and see you next week!!

CBDFarmer Day 37 and the plants are doing all right. Some P deficiency in the Cbd 20:1 (on the right) that I am treating, while the Charlotte Angels on the left are well, especially the “small” one (as I used to call it before it overtook the other 2) that is the furthest from the camera.
The temperature is very high at 28 constantly but there is little I can do about that, because this the room temperature is 27 and I cannot keep the AC on all day for them, as it would not be cost-effective.
I water every other day approximately 2L per plant, following the schedule advised for the week. Mainly boosting PK heavily from this week and reducing N to the very minimum. Plain water, microbes and biobloom only for the mid-watering.
Lamp still at 75% at 35cm, and I ll bring to 100% at the end of week 6, beginning of 7, possibly increasing distance to 40 initially.
Overall, the lamp has 6 cycles on its shoulders, diodes overheat although I have a 30w fan dedicated to the lamp 24/7.
I am not sure this is the best I can achieve with what I m using, but I m really putting 100% of everything I know and have for them. It’s too early for estimates as there are lot of weeks ahead but in my opinion the average will be 60-70g per plant, maybe less?

CBDFarmer Day 43 and plants are well.
On the right the Fast Bud cbd auto 20:1, on the left the Dutch Passion auto cbd Charlotte’s Angels.
Yesterday I increased lamp intensity from 75% to 100% and softened the change raising the lamp to 40cm from 30cm. 24 hours later they still look good with no major issues spotted so far.
The FB is still in early flowering with few pistils. This already happened to me the first time I grew it but I thought at the time that the delay was due to stress. Now the plant looks good but its transition into flowering is again taking 1-2 weeks more than the other strains. So it must be the genetic, slower than advertised. Anyway last time it was definitely an XXL producer, so I will wait patiently.
The Dutch are doing good, and I could not be happier with them! It has been a real good strain and I hope to see that XL yield promised by Dutch!
Other than that, this week I discontinued Biogrow and started adding Biobizz Algamic, AN Rhino Skin and Bud Candy, which after some research I believe are good additions. I m trying to compensate for a less than optimal lamp that is heating up the tent too much, with peaks in temperature of 31 degrees. Too much I know, but there is little I can do about it. So I m trying to help the plants coping with the stress feeding sea weed (algamic) and silica (rhino skin). Bud Candy is mostly to supply some more carbs, absent in the Biobizz line.
I also changed the feeding schedule where I used to give plain water plus microbes every other watering. Now I implemented a feed-feed-water(+microbes) schedule. Basically pushing nuts two times in a row and adding only microbes the third watering with no other nutrients, a sort of mini-flush to allow the soil and plants to rest between heavy feeding cycles.
So far so goo! See you next week!
