Apollo F1 + CBD Blackberry Kush

BudsPerMinute Week 1 All have quickly come out of the soil, no complications so far.

BudsPerMinute Week 2 This week I removed the first fan leaves and did some light LST by tying the new leaves up. Normally, I don’t like to cut leaves at this stage, but since this run is supposed to have very little LST, it was important to me that the lower shoots get as much light as possible from the start.

BudsPerMinute Week 3 Basically the same as in week 2. The lower shoots further away from the main stem get 2 fan leaves trimmed every 2-3 days that block too much light. Unfortunately, the Blackberry Kush doesn't look so good visually; I guess it's just bad luck in the genetic lottery since it's growing optimally and going full throttle. I will proceed very cautiously with trimming or LST to avoid the risk of stress, as I estimate it could be more prone to stress.

BudsPerMinute Week 4 This week I did the LST for the last time since the plants are in the beginning to mid-stretch. The main stems are intentionally not trained to see how it affects the outcome. 2-3 days after the strong LST, I will finally defoliate "strongly" for the last time and remove the first 1-2 shoots at the bottom since no light reaches them anyway. It turned out that especially with the Blackberry Kush, not performing LST on the main stem has led to the top tip being only 30cm away from the light, while the lowest shoots of the Apollo F1 are almost 60cm away, which is not good. I will put shoe boxes under the Apollos since they are no longer stretching and everything will come closer to the light.

BudsPerMinute Week 5 All plants are now at the beginning of the flowering stage. From this point on, I will no longer perform any training and will limit leaf removal to a minimum. After placing the plants on shoe boxes to bring them closer to the light, the three Apollo F1 have drooped their leaves, probably because the sudden 15 cm distance to the lamp was too much stress. To counteract this, I reduced the light intensity from 75% to 65%. From now on, I will gradually increase the dimming every 2–3 days in small steps (about 2–3%).

BudsPerMinute Week 6 This week, I might remove one or two small flower sites from the lower part of the Apollos, as well as a few larger fan leaves here and there. I'm being careful and prefer to leave a bit more on the plant to cause as little stress as possible. In week 6, signs of a CalMag deficiency are showing. At first, I suspected that Phosphor+ was the cause, as phosphorus can affect calcium uptake. However, it's more likely that the deficiency arose from the combination of Phosphor+ and the very low calcium and magnesium water that has previously gone through a demineralization system. Therefore, I will slightly increase the CalMag content and temporarily leave out Phosphor+ until the deficiency improves.

BudsPerMinute Week 7 This week the focus is on compensating for the CalMag deficiency. I found out that the water softener in this house really filters out almost all the calcium and magnesium from the water.

BudsPerMinute Week 8 The plants are doing relatively well, the buds are growing day by day, and the resin production is also in full swing. The CBD Blackberry Kush has a beautiful color and already emits an incredibly strong and delicious berry scent, simply amazing. The Apollos are also forming very nice buds, and the smell currently strongly resembles fresh apples.

BudsPerMinute Week 9: At the beginning of the week, about 1–3% of the trichomes on the main bud showed an amber color. From now on, there will only be clear water with a splash of CalMag to flush out the last nutrient residues and optimally complete the ripening process. The harvest is planned in about 3–4 days.

BudsPerMinute Time to harvest! The plants will now stay in the dark for another 24 hours and will then be hung up whole.
