RQS’ AMG and Gelato heaven

A new journey has begun. A very special one since I am doing first photoperiod dependant strains and first time doing in coco. I decided to put four plants in the grow tent and to do main lining. It is going to be quite challenging because of all new techniques I’ll be using. Day 1: all four seeds sprouted nicely. I put them in small pots until they don’t grow and be ready for transplantation. I just watered them with a pH controlled water measured to 5.8.

Third week and plants are wonderful and ready to be transplanted to final pots. I started adding fertilizers and they grow vigorously. Both gelatos are bigger probably due to the fact the AMG is sativa dominant and hence a slower grower. Today the plants were transplanted into the final pots and seem they weren’t affected at all. Few days and topping will begin👍

I topped all 4 ladies and was a little afraid how would they react. It is the first time I’ve been topping. They got on it really well and are groing some serious stems. Just take a look at the knee they’re groing out of a main stem💪💪 Update: I’ve already made a first pair of toppings to all plants and I believe they will be ready today for the second round. After that each of them will have four main colas, my goal however is to top them one more time too acchieve 8 main nodes for each plant. Lookimg good for now🤘 They already smell somehow like a weed even though they’re still babies.

The ladies are doing great. I was thinking of topping them the second time today but I’ve changed my mind and will leave them to develop their stems a little more. No deficiencies until now and all of them just look super healthy and strong💪

I was on holidays for few days and was not able to train my babies daily. I topped them today for the second time to achieve four colas. So far so good:)

Another successful week is behind the ladies. They started growing vigorously and producing some huge leaves. I will stop with topping and continue with LST with all main colas. Another week or two and I intend to switch to 12/12. Really want them to be monsters with dense frosty buds🙏

Hello folks! Nothing extraordinary this week. Ladies keep growing nicely. I want them to grow bigger and later switch to flowering cycle time. Let me know what is your opinion, how much should I wait, should I train them a little more or just leave them to veg naturally. Happy growing!👊 Mid week update: The plants are stretching 🙆‍♂️ really nicely and started to drink a lot of water. Will definitely wait a week before lowering the day light to 12/12. The lower leaves are giant, take a look at the photos ❤️

This week went really well and all four plants, 2 gelatos and both AMGs’ growth has been outstanding. I hope the tent isn’t too small for the monsters they’re becoming😂😆 I switched the light cycle to 12/12 and mow the only thing is waiting. It’s the first time I’ve been doing photoperiod plants and I’m really curious what’s coming ahead. No complains until now, the coco grow and nutrient mixture seems to be just a nice balanced combination. I was afraid something would go wrong until now since I was only used to bio/soil grow. Hello, it’s another week report. All plants grew in height like nuts and gained aprox. 20 cm. The AMG’s Sativa genetics is now coming to all its shine and she’s much bigger compared to Green gelatos. They’ve came into the flowering stage and I expect some big buds as they will be developing. Thanks everybody to stopping by 🙏🤪 Happy growing. It’s a new week behind the ladies that still haven’t stopped growing in height. There’s only little room left to the top so I hope the highest - AMG will now slow down. The growth is just exceptional leaving me with just little work - watering them with basic nutes added water and keeping an eye ob the water’s pH at exactly 5.8. I train them every day to keep all forming buds evenly exposed to the light. The difference between Green Gelato and AMG strain is now quite evident, Gelato being really strong, compact and bushy on one and AMG being really tall and thin on the other hand. The bud spots are forming nicely and just can’t wait them to start fattening up. The smell is still mild and fresh but the slight difference between the strains can be noticed. When should I start adding PK 13/14, any suggestions? Thanks everyone to stopping by and liking. I’m sorry I could not post an update previous week but I was abroad and my girlfriend took care of the ladies. They gained in height for few centimetres and start fattening up nicely. From how it looks now I cannot be happier, small buds are just allover the stems and getting bushier every day. The Canna COCO solution mix they’re given seems like a top choice. No problems until now, I’m trying to keep them under air conditioning during the day since it’s been really hot last days. Please feel free to comment and enjoy the week’s update. This week went amazing, the girls finally stopped growing in height and started fattening up. As LaBOSSANOVA suggested me, I added pk13/14 twice and it seems to be working. Gelatos have some serious torpedos. AMG is not that bushy, however the buds are so dense and frosty that the branches can't hold the weight anymore so I helped here with some gardening wire that is attached on the one side to the tent's cage and to the branches on the other, The smell of Gelato is lemonish-fruity, the AMG is hard to define it's kind a combination of lemon, fresh herbs and extremely dense. I will give the pk13/14 one more time since it really seems the girls enjoy it. I'm so excited about the grow, I've never had buds so huge being just in the middle of the flowering stage. Oh, what I successful week is behind the weed plants. They’ve been given some extra amount of PK and I believe they loved it. I made some lollipoping to remove lower branches that wouldn’t be able to produce more than few little popcorns and reinforced the AMG with bamboo sticks 💪 so they won’t be all over the places. I can’t believe the weight and frostiness of AMG’s buds, can’t wait to try them. Gelato’s releasing really pleasing fruity tone smell, whilst AMG feels like a lemon explosion mixed with herbs. I think we have few weeks to harvest, definitely will wait for buds to get more weight. Thanks again for stopping by. Have a great week 👍🙏

Nothing special to report this week. As described in CANNAs nutrient guide I thought it would be good idea to start lowering the quantity of basic A and B nutrients. I also spotted some signs of overfeeding especially with a smaller Gelato plant but hopefully it won’t affect the final yields. I’m really excited already at seeing buds in such size on Gelato #1 plant. Definitely haven’t had such a monster in my tent. I believe they have plenty of time until harvest. I would say three weeks for Gelato and a week or two more for AMG. Overall very happy with the grow - for sure I’ll continue next grows on COCO. Finally I got to have a DSLR camera - currently just borrowed and made some photos.😀 There is nothing mucch again this week except from the fact that's been extremely hot week. I was absent for 3 three days and was not able to check for the ladies. They suffered from the heat and some upper leaves have been affected but fortunately not much damage was done. Green Gelato plants are almost to heavy with buds and I had to straighten them with wire. I believe they need a week more, so I already start flushing them with pure pH controlled water. AMG is getting flowering nutrients and additives - hopefully she'll fatten a little more. Thanks again for stopping by and please like the week if you like it. Have a great week 💪😃

Love it, how flowering is progressing 😀 I've started flushing both Gelatos and I believe they have just one more week until harvest. The smell is outstanding with strong fruity tones and the buds are just huge. Unfortunately few branches broke due to the weight of some buds but hopefully that won't cause much of a damage to the plants. I wish AMG would produce buds of the same size of Gelato but on the other hand she is something special. The smell really started to come out which is very lemonish intense nad Buds are extremely dense filled with trichomes. Just can't wait to try them both. What a nice journey has been for Green Gelato grow. Last week was just to flush the Gelato plants with pure pH controlled water with Flawless finish addition. One plant was already cut and put t to a drying room (actually it's my bedroom until AMG won't get harvested:)). I'm astonished by the result, I got almost 500 g of wet buds from a single plant and still waiting for the second one - I think she needs just a couple of days for the soil to get dried. At the end it's really obvious both plants are from different phenotype, they almost don't look as they were the same strain. Both have really nice fruity tones smell but still very different. Can't wait to try them both 😀 😛 Update: Saturday harvested Green Gleato #2. It has sweeter smell and pretty different bud structure, very dense and frosty but not as huge as they are from the 1st plant. Wet weight was 342 g, together with Gelato #1 more than 800 g, love it🤩🤩 AMG is still on the go, she got the last nutrients yesterday, and I'll start flushing her too. The grow was quite easy, It was the first time me doing main-lining and it was a good decision. I decided to keep 4 main stems and it turned out to be a great idea. However I didn't expect her to grow so tall. The buds were not enormous but they were placed through all the plant and very heavy so I had to help her with wooden sticks just to keep main colas straight. She had flowered as expected from sativa almost 9 months but it was worth waiting. Fortunately I have another seed and will definitely give it another try. Love it so much😀 💪
