Z-up Auto, Mandarin Panties Auto

MR_S_theGardener The first days of my ladies have gone quite well! The two Z-ups have developed better growth and thicker stems despite germinating later. The Mandarin Panties, on the other hand, is a bit more delicate, but in the small 60 cm tent, I'm just glad if the growth stays compact. After 6 days, I also watered the basics like Voodoo Tarantula, etc., according to the autoflower nutrient schedule from Advanced Nutrients.

MR_S_theGardener The ladies are doing quite well so far, the Mandarin Panties maintains its title as petite, but I'm not worried about that. The Z-ups both look very vigorous, but the one on the left in the tent has gotten a bit of loose substrate, which makes more oxygen available to it and seems to increase its cell pressure. I generally mixed a lot of extra perlite into the substrate, but with the Z-up on the right in the tent and the Mandarin Panties, I overwatered the pots too much, which made the bottom firmer. Well, next time I’ll have to do it differently 😄

MR_S_theGardener The week went very well, all the plants have made good progress and in my opinion, they look healthy too 😄 the growth of the two Z-ups is almost identical and when I compare them with other diaries, I find that Fastbuds has once again released a very solid strain. There are few visual documents of the Mandarin Panties, which makes comparison difficult, but I think the growth is quite nice. Let's see when the ladies go into flowering, I assume they will transition this week.

MR_S_theGardener The ladies have gone through their first stretch, before that I removed a few leaves. I'm trying to be very restrained and don't want to train anything; I just want to see how the Z-ups grow in my setup. Before this, I had a guava Auto from Fastbuds that I brought to a top result with relatively little training, and to not overstretch the limited space, the plan was to have 3 plants 😅 Z-up #1 is growing well; I removed the first node, it wasn't strong enough. It's growing a bit wider and slowly heading towards pre-flowering. Z-up #2 is growing great. It has a nice structure but shows slight over-fertilization at the leaf tips with the same amount of nutrients. Next time I water, it will only be with water and nematodes (probably all 3 as a preventive measure) and it's in pre-flowering. Mandarin Panties is a sweet little bushy indica; it looks satisfied and will be lollipopped like all the other ladies in the second week of flowering 🍭 It's just about to enter pre-flowering.

MR_S_theGardener Yeah, as was almost to be expected, a 60x60 is just too small 😅 The Mandarin Panties got overshadowed by the two Z-ups, and I had to take it out of the tent. The decision was made because I still have two more seeds of the Panties, and the Z-ups are just showing more potential. Of course, I will continue to report on the Panties. Z-up #1 Has no problems, is growing nicely, shows no signs of over-fertilization, and has a drain of 1000ppm at 570ppm. pH is at 7... Z-up #2 Shows signs of over-fertilization and has a drain of 1500ppm, pH is at 6.7. But it's growing great and shows the most potential. Mandarin Panties Is growing slowly, also drinks significantly less. It can now enjoy natural light for a while and will not return to the tent. I will make another attempt with this strain. MR_S_theGardener This week, the zipper on my homebox broke 😐 but as luck would have it, the growpros are on sale and the Z-ups are way too big anyway, so I treated myself to an 80x80 😅 About the plants: Z-up #1 No issues, takes a bit longer than #2, but it'll be fine. At least it has caught up in height; the buds aren't that developed yet. The spacing is excellent, just like its sister. Z-up #2 Keeps showing signs of over-fertilization, but is still developing great. If I'm misinterpreting the light leaf tips, feel free to write something 😜 pH in the drain is 6.8 and ppm after watering is 670 (I diluted the nutrient solution here) up to 1050 ppm. I'll give another update on the Mandarin Panties next week. So long, see you then!

MR_S_theGardener Hello everyone, week 7: Everything is going wonderfully, great strain! The pH of both plants is slowly getting into the 6.8 range, the supposed over-fertilization is being put into perspective, although I'm starting to believe it was more of a light stress issue, since #2 was bigger than #1 and closer to the light.

MR_S_theGardener #1 has stretched for 1 week longer and will generally take 1 week longer than #2. But both look good! I'm very satisfied, really a great strain. #1 has a bit earthier terps but with a lot of fresh lemon.. reminds me of the guava from Fastbuds. #2 has very sweet lemon terps that are almost pushing the activated carbon filter to its limits.

MR_S_theGardener Z-up #1 still seems to be a bit behind in bud development. I don't think it will be able to build the same structure as its sister, but it generally looks very healthy and will still produce a decent yield, even if the buds might not be super dense. Z-up #2 has a nice bud structure and smells fantastic. Unfortunately, it has a bit of a calmag deficiency, but there's not much that can be done about it now.

MR_S_theGardener Both Z-ups have developed great, both in terms of maturity and mass. Last week was with nutrients, and next week it will just be flawless finish, maybe for another two weeks.

MR_S_theGardener The leaf senescence has only just started slowly, so I will give it another week for a flawless finish due to the still unripe trichomes. The dry weather is playing in my favor right now, but it could definitely get colder again 😜 last time I had 30° in the tent.

MR_S_theGardener Today is the last day with light, followed by 36 hours of darkness, and then it will be harvested. This grow has developed wonderfully and hasn't caused any problems so far! The terps of both plants are amazing, and I will definitely be putting Z-ups in my tent again. I am very impressed with the quality of the new Fastbuds strains! For the harvest, I will probably wait with my diary entry until it's fully cured so I can also say something about the taste!
