TugMasterson Time to get back to growing! I was waiting until things warmed up a bit outside. I'm a little rusty but I'm pretty much going to follow how I started the last grow. In fact, I feel the last grow was great aside from the cropping lesson I learned. As I recall, I think I had to water only once before it was time to transfer to the 5 gal. And while I am not going to bury the nursery bag with the plant (as advertised) it made for a seem-less transfer last go. One other issue with the last grow was I used regular tap water at the start which I think caused a bit of discoloration. Using filtered water (ph 6.5) from the get go this time. Switching up the strain choice to Northern Light, another long time favorite. Aiming to top so there will be 8 solid nodes. Will continue to top feed nutrients while filling the bottom reservoir with water and cal mag.

TugMasterson The plant seems to be growing slower than previous grows. It dawned on me that I used voodoo juice in the last grow to promote root growth. I wonder if that had a big effect? I think I am going to start another seed with the voodoo juice just to compare. Still learning after all.

TugMasterson Transplanting time! The main first plant shocked me by how fast it grew over the last week. I included a series of photos to show how easy it is to transplant with these nursery bags. First, I fill the bottom of the 5 gal with dirt and then sit the plant with the nursery bag in to make sure it is level, once that is ready I cut along the bottom of the nursery bag around the circle and then sit it back inside the 5 gal. I yoink the bottom off and then fill the sides with dirt. Once that is complete I just pull out the remaining nursery bag sides and voila transplanted!

TugMasterson Going well, almost to the point of no return, did a bit more LST to try and hold back for as long as possible. I am waiting until I have the methodology of growing down before I get into any extreme LST when the plant is younger. I did start nutes on 7/4/25.

TugMasterson Switched to 12/12 on 7/16/25. It is going well, I've slowly ramped up the nutes every 6 days. I do feel like I should have pruned some more but time was running out (height wise). This is something to continue to refine in future grows. Edit - I figured we were early enough into flower that it could handle one final major prune. I brought it more in line with what I was anticipating. Really think it is for the best.

TugMasterson Cruising along, keeping an eye on the trichomes, not too much longer I imagine. My hope is to roll into my next grow as soon as this plant is done drying. I just ordered the seeds, Blueberry by Seedsman, another classic strain that I really enjoy. Shame you can't find the classics in the dispensaries anymore (well at least in shitty Ohio, maybe in the wonderland that is Michigan it is possible).

TugMasterson I think it is very close to harvest time. I started a flush and trying out AN Flawless Finish to see how it goes. Might wait until this weekend when I will have more free time.

Sounds like a solid plan! Great call on the filtered water and topping for 8 nodes. Northern Light is a classic, should turn out great. Happy growing! 🌱💪
