Germination

BudsPerMinute It's starting again! Today my new indoor grow kicks off. My setup hasn't changed compared to the last run; proven technology remains in place. This time the focus is on LST (Low Stress Training) to achieve an even plant height and use the light more efficiently. The run will be very mixed again, as I still had seeds left from last year's outdoor grow. Additionally, there are a few free seeds included that will now get their chance. A colorful mix, perfect for observing different genetics under the same conditions. *This grow is not being conducted by me; I am merely documenting the events and formulating it simply from the perspective of the grower*

BudsPerMinute Week 2 The plants are showing slightly uneven growth at the beginning of week 2 (probably due to transpiration stress since it had a bit too low humidity even under the domes). Humidity is now being supported with a humidifier. Additionally, I'm currently facing the problem that the temperatures in the tent are going up to 29.5 degrees due to the extreme temperatures outside. Temperature has stabilized between 26-28 by opening the tent with strong fresh air intake, just like the humidity, which is now at 50-70% thanks to a humidifier in the room + stronger fresh air intake.

BudsPerMinute Week 3 The third week is done, and the LST is still going very well. I selectively defoliated – only removed leaves that were directly shading the shoots, the rest was neatly "tucked." The Trichome & Cream is still lagging behind, but it's now growing healthy and stable. The Blackberry Kush made a solid leap this week and looks very vigorous. The two Banana Blaze are continuing to grow rapidly and show very dynamic growth. No deficiencies visible, all plants are thriving. Let's keep it going!

BudsPerMinute Week 4 We're starting week 4 with very well-trained and healthy plants. The Low Stress Training (LST) has now been slightly reduced for all plants – except for the Trichomes & Cream – and will mainly serve for shoot management from now on. The goal is for each shoot to get enough space and light to develop optimally. Throughout the week, I successfully implemented all planned measures. The Banana Blaze plants received the strongest defoliation to improve light penetration and promote the growth of the lower shoots. Additionally, some weak shoots were removed so that energy can flow into the stronger main shoots. A small setback was noted with the Blackberry Kush – due to a short-term increase in light intensity from 60% to 65%, some flower tips got slightly burned. The light was then reduced back to 60%, and the plant seems to be recovering well. All other plants continue to show a very good condition, without any issues. The Trichomes & Cream is also developing quite well and is handling the previously gentle training excellently. Overall, I am very satisfied, especially with the Banana Blazes!

BudsPerMinute Week 5 This week, the plants are in the stretch phase. I mostly let them grow naturally and only intervene when individual shoots stand out significantly or need to be repositioned. At the beginning of the week, I added 1.5 ml of grow fertilizer, but I already stopped by mid-week as the demand seems to be decreasing. Notably, the Blackberry Kush seems to have already completed the stretch. Unfortunately, there are slight burn marks on the tips. Possible causes could be an excess of nitrogen or – more likely – light stress. To counteract this, I slightly reduced the light intensity and adjusted the dimming from 65% to 60%.

BudsPerMinute Week 6 All plants are currently in stretch and are gaining at least 5 cm in height daily. The Blackberry Kush receives its first dose of Phosphor+ (1 ml/l) at the beginning of the week, while the Trichomes & Cream will only be supplied with it during the following watering cycle. By the end of the week, all plants will finally receive their regular Phosphor+ dose. During each watering, I carefully removed 3–5 leaves and 2–3 shoots from the lower, shaded area – exclusively below the leaf canopy. The goal is to direct energy specifically into the main shoots. I consciously chose a gradual defoliation to minimize stress and not slow down growth.

BudsPerMinute Week 7 The buds are getting bigger and the plant is already shedding the fan leaves that are at the very bottom automatically, and no plant is showing signs of stress or over-fertilization, so everything is more than fine! This week I'm reducing Bio Bloom to 2ml/l and increasing Phosphor+ to 2ml/l since, to my knowledge, we're at peak phosphorus demand now, and I want to keep the risk of over-fertilization low.

BudsPerMinute Week 8 Maximum flowering! No more defoliation, no more LST, just flowering! The Blackberry Kush is already getting maximum nutrients; I might also increase to 2.7ml/l of Phosphorus+ since it's really taking off, but I'm not sure about that yet, and with the rest of the plants, I'm also slowly reaching the maximum nutrient amount. Overall, very satisfied, no major burns, no blockages, no stress except for a minimal nitrogen deficiency in the Banana Blaze (which, in my opinion, isn't the end of the world during the flowering week; I'll just give a little more Bloom now and then).

BudsPerMinute Week 9 The Blackberry Kush seems to be finishing up this week or next, so I've halved the Bud Candy for you and I'm leaving out Phosphor+ now; the rest will still get the full schedule. Unfortunately, it's raining endlessly, so I can hardly get the humidity in the apartment below 60%, but I suspect there won't be any complications (hopefully).

BudsPerMinute Week 10 The Blackberry Kush was harvested in the middle of week 10; the first trichomes were amber-colored. The Trichome&Cream is very close to the harvest date at the beginning of week 10; it’s only getting water now, and in about 3-4 days, it will go into darkness for about 1-2 days. The Banana Blazes definitely need a little longer than 1 week.

Happy Harvest Day!

Midweek 10 it was time to harvest the plant smells very nice and has also built up quite a bit of mass I am more than just satisfied! After an extensive tasting round, I destroyed most of the plant and only kept the main buds from the picture so that I remain within the legal framework of Germany after the harvest of the other plants! Great buds! Great smell! Great taste! Great effect! Unfortunately not as dark as its CBD sister in the last run but the aroma SCREAMS Blackberry! Would grow this strain again! *Important note this grow was not conducted by me! I have only documented this for documentation purposes and simply formulated it from my perspective :)*

BudsPerMinute Mid Week 10 The Blackberry Kush is now placed in the dark drying room for 24-48 hours to then be harvested and dried. Despite some weird leaf deformations (the affected leaves were 60% perfectly formed and the remaining 40% were very misshapen or heavily wrinkled), it has just done well on 3-5 leaves—no over-fertilization, no delays, and a super nice structure. The leaf-to-bud ratio is also a dream! Always a pleasure.

At the end of week 10, the Trichome&Cream was harvested. Throughout the entire grow, it was the most sensitive of the plants, but it held up well. Towards the end, it also built up a lot of mass, and the smell + the appearance of the strain is extremely nice. I am looking forward to trying it in 1-3 weeks once it is dried and has been lightly cured. *Important note: this grow was not conducted by me! I have only documented this for documentation purposes and formulated it from my perspective for simplicity :) *

BudsPerMinute The 2 Banana Blazes are still standing, and it seems like they have about 1 maybe 2 weeks left until they're done. The buds are really quite big, especially the one with the more indica-like growth. The smell is relatively sweet and not too overpowering in the tent. This week there's no more Phosphor+ since they should just be relaxing and ripening now. By the end of week 11, you can see the first trichomes on Banana Blaze 1 turning amber. I'll give her another 1-3 days, then she'll be harvested. Either I'll harvest the 2 Banana Blazes directly with her or let them sit for a few more days. We'll see.

Week 12. Harvest

At the beginning of week 12, both Banana Blazes were harvested. There were 2 very interesting phenos, one with very large compact buds and the other with more elongated Sativa-like buds. Both have grown extremely bushy, but I think the grow was a complete success! The smell is extremely sweet and fruity, for me the favorite of the entire run, and the trimming was also very relaxed. The weight is impressive; the more compact plant alone yielded 98g dry... Just wow! Unfortunately, I will have to dispose of the majority of the harvest due to the German legal situation, but what I keep are almost fist-sized main buds. *Important note: this grow was not carried out by me! I have only documented this for documentation purposes and formulated it from my perspective for simplicity :) *
