Yes, repotting is still possible – but with caution.
Advantages of a larger pot now:
More space for the roots = better nutrient uptake during flowering.
More stable water and nutrient supply, especially important in hot weather.
More buffer storage for nitrogen – this is crucial during the stretch phase of flowering.
Disadvantages/risks:
Stress from repotting can slightly delay pre-flowering.
Root damage or poor drainage in the new pot can be harmful.
What I recommend:
✅ If you plan to repot, then do it now – right before or at the beginning of pre-flowering is the last sensible time.
Recommended approach:
Pot size: Go for at least 25–30 liters, even larger if possible.
Repot gently – do not break the root ball apart too much, rather "relocate" it.
Right after, water well with light nutrient water (e.g., 50–70% of the flowering nutrient concentration).
Avoid direct sunlight for 1–2 days to help the plant recover.
Alternatives:
If the risk is too great for you:
Top-dress with fresh soil and compost + slow-release nitrogen source (e.g., worm humus, horn shavings).
Leave or renew the mulch layer (as already seen), helps against drying out.
Adjust liquid fertilization: e.g., lightly dose every few days with growth or pre-flowering specific fertilizer (including Mg/Ca if needed).
I hope this helps you! 😘
