Borberad Welcome to the Borberad spider web! This time we have a legend at Borberad, a true heavyweight of the cannabis world that has enchanted generations of growers: White Widow We chose the genetics from Silent Seeds. Forget everything you know about shy little plants – here comes a lady who loves to wrap herself in a sparkling gown and make an impression! With our proven and almost daily photo documentation and occasional video insights, we will dive deep into the microcosm of this famous strain. We will capture every fuzz, every trichome, and every potential little problem as we try to tame this resinous diva. Whether we end up stuck in the proverbial web of trichomes or harvest a radiant yield, you’ll find out here! Profile: Silent Seeds White Widow – The Glittering Legend * Genetics: The White Widow is a true icon, whose exact origin is shrouded in myths. It was created in the 90s as a cross between a pure Brazilian Sativa and an Indian Indica. Silent Seeds has preserved and optimized this classic genetics, so you can expect a robust and reliable plant that combines the best of both worlds. It’s a perfect hybrid with a slight Indica dominance, known for its balanced effects. * Size: Typically, this white widow reaches a moderate size, making it ideal for indoor growing. We expect heights between 60 and 110 centimeters. This makes it manageable enough not to take over the entire Borberad lab. * Color: Mainly a rich, healthy green, but the name "White Widow" is not without reason! During the flowering stage, countless crystalline trichomes cover the buds and leaves, giving the plant a stunning, almost snow-white appearance. It’s as if it adorned itself with thousands of tiny diamonds – a feast for the eyes! * Aroma & Terpenes: The scent of the White Widow is complex and unmistakable: a mix of earthy, woody notes with a hint of spicy pepper and often a citrusy freshness. The terpene profile is rich in Myrcene, Caryophyllene, and Pinene, contributing to this unique aroma. * Special Features: The White Widow is famous for its outstanding resin production, making it an excellent choice for concentrates. It’s also relatively easy to grow and resilient to many beginner mistakes, making it a good choice for our scientific experiment. The effects are typically a pleasant mix of euphoric Sativa cerebral stimulation and a deep, relaxing Indica body effect – the best of both worlds! * Effects: A perfectly balanced experience. It often starts with a cerebral kick that promotes creativity and good vibes, followed by a pleasant physical relaxation without sedation. Ideal for the evening or social gatherings. Legal Notice: (The small but important addition) "As always, our sparkling White Widow adheres to the unshakeable principle of Borberad: This grow diary serves exclusively for the scientific documentation of a private and legal cultivation project in accordance with applicable laws in Germany. Any abusive or illegal use of the plants or their products is strictly prohibited and will be firmly rejected by Borberad." May the trichomes flourish abundantly and may the White Widow delight you with its legendary splendor! Here’s a little rundown of our common procedure for feminized or regular seeds. 1. First, the seed is soaked for about 20 hours in 1% H2O2 at 25°C in darkness. 2.1. If the seed is only slightly opened after about 20 hours, the kitchen towel method is used, and the seed is packed in a damp kitchen towel in a zip bag and hung in the dark until the root has grown out 5 to 10mm. 2.2. Into the Veg tent: 20 hours of light at 26°C and 65% humidity if possible. If the root has grown a few mm out of the shell, it goes directly into a Jiffi pellet (the kitchen towel is skipped) until the pellet is rooted. However, the small seedlings are first covered with a transparent container to further increase humidity. 3. Transplanting into a 400ml pot. A cover is no longer needed now. 4. Transplanting into a 2L fabric pot; training begins from now on. 5. Repotting into a 20L fabric pot and training and preparing for flowering. 6. After about 3-10 weeks, it goes into flowering, depending on the size of the plant and planned training method. Here 12 hours light, 12 hours dark at as close to 26°C and 55% humidity as possible. Unfortunately, there was a slight delay with this grow. The first seed just wouldn’t open. So a second one had to take a dip. And lo and behold, after 20 hours, a little root was visible.

However, since the trichomes are already turning milky, the nutrient dosage is being reduced. Borberad Unfortunately, signs of rot were found in two buds, so all head buds were harvested as a precaution and broken down into smaller pieces. Found some bud rot in three of them. The rest was okay. Since all the trichomes are milky and we're not really into the amber stuff anyway, we'll be harvesting completely this week. Flowering duration indicated is 50-55 days.

Beautiful plant with extremely dense resinous buds. Training and growing went almost without problems. However, the extremely dense and resinous buds led to mold problems in the last week of flowering, costing us a few buds. However, the humidity during the dark phase was temporarily above 60%. Perhaps that was the reason.

Oh, bud rot is always annoying and just appeared a few days ago. What were the environmental values like 2-4 days ago? Unfortunately, I also had two cola losses in the GTH this year because my environment went off.

@23_GG_GROW, Yeah, really annoying, especially when you don't know exactly what caused it. I stupidly took out the max/min thermo hygrometer recently. Well, luckily I noticed in time. A few leaves looked suspiciously dry and yellowish in the buds. And you can't really store much anyway. So it doesn't hurt that much. Half of it is for the worms anyway.

@23_GG_GROW, Sure, will do. We usually train the little flowers by repeatedly bending the corresponding shoots. If they get a bit stubborn and don’t bend the way we want, then we use stakes (thick bent wires) in the soil or strings on the pot to guide them in the desired direction.
